The West End Wine Bar & Pub is offers an interesting menu, excellent wine choices, a cosy and friendly atmosphere great for couples, friends, dates, and families. Service is excellent, the staff very professional and very friendly. In warm weather, the terrace dining is enjoyable, and in colder weather the interior is extremely pleasant and inviting. Folks in Purcellville have a neighborhood gem and folks like myself have a great reason in The West End Wine Bar and Pub to venture into the Loudoun countryside.
We reserved our table like a month or two in advance and the only options OpenTable had were 5:30 or 8pm, yet no idea why because it was empty when we arrived at 5:30 and left at 6:15. I would have rather eaten at 6:30/7 and we reserved so far in advance. Anyway, food was really good BUT portion sizes made zero sense. Even server agreed. $14 mussel appetizer was ridiculously huge. I ordered as my entrée and was able to share with two others at my table. Then my two friends ordered shrimp and risotto to SHARE and lets say there was 6 shrimp on the smallest plate of risotto you ever saw. Risotto is cheap people, don't hold back. Make it look like a good meal. The prices should have been reversed. The server said my mussels are even cheaper at happy hour and same size. I was floored. Anyway, food was good. Would recommend but first, ASK PORTION SIZES!
Great place for a date. It is a little pricey, but the food is good and the service is always great. The Sunday brunch menu is always good as well. We had an espresso creme brule for dessert, the flavor was amazing, but the texture was a little runny but still good.
We rate the food very good for taste and quality, but very poor for portion size, especially considering the prices. Definitely not worth the high cost.
Nice décor, very comfortable seats, nice ambience, excellent service.
Wine flight was not very good, we didn't really care for any of the four wines.
This was our fifth time to dine here, but the first that we had a drink in the Pub downstairs. The Pub was lively and the décor welcoming. We had a corner seat in leather armchairs and a sofa with a TV. The Bartender was fantastic...funny and attentive.
The upstairs bar and dining area are nicely appointed...tasteful and comfortable. Dinner for all in our party was delicious. We had Halibut, Shrimp, Coq au Vin and Scallops and everything was prepared nicely. FYI Their restroom is quite lovely with fresh flowers, lotion and plenty of space. Details that are appreciated.
Good spot...worth the drive.
This is our favorite go to place for dinner. Unfortunately, the food wasn't up to their standards as it had been in the past. I don't know if there is a new chef but, everything we ordered was tasteless. I was disappointed but, we love this place and will get it another try.
Had another delightful dining experience at West End. The caprese salad was delicious as was the spinach/mushroom frittata. Great wine selection.excellent service. Enjoyed eating on the patio - lovely afternoon.
Very nice date night, good food, and great wine selection. The décor was simple and elegant with exposed brick and hard wood floors. I would recommend it if you are staying in the area.
Food was very good, service was excellent and ambiance and noise level were both very pleasant. Put it all together and you have a special place where you don’t have to go to a near shout to be heard and you don’t feel rushed. Top that off with a very nice menu and food that is presented well and tastes very good. We’ll be back.
The food was delicious and the service was attentive and prompt. Because it was a Thursday night, it was pretty quiet, which was very nice. There is a good selection of different dishes and is close to our house.
Always a great meal every time we dine at West End!
The only thing that was somewhat perplexing was the lack of any real choice for entree for a person who doesn't eat meat or cheese since, to my surprise, the pasta primavera was in a cream sauce. That said, I still plan to go back since the sides and salad were lovely, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere relaxed, friendly, and elegant.
Joined another couple for dinner and had a really great time. Really love this place and will hope to make it a regular room we move into the area.
Wonderful special place. Interesting menu. Dish pmes were superbly plated and prepared. Service was outstanding. Great selection of wines. Will return.
Lovely brunch !! I had the Fried Green Tomato Benedict and it was outstanding!
I was pleasantly surprised with an outstanding meal! I ordered halibut which was served over rice and beans. It was one of the most delicious meals I have ever eaten! The chicken spring roll appetizer was just as good. This may now be my favorite restaurant in Purcellville!!!
We had been several times before.but this time i reserved using open table and was seated in the only table in the bar! I wasn't happy i should have left. The couple ahead of us without a reservation got seated by the window.. frustrated
The food is fantastic and the menu is very creative an varied. It is quiet and seating is very comfortable. An all around wonderful restaurant with a very talented chef with the best food I've had in ages. I also overheard the couple seated near me say the same thing.
Not being from the area, my wife and I asked a local family while at a local brewery of a good place for dinner. They pointed us in the direction of West End. It did not disappoint at all! The food was excellent. We sat outside on the patio. It was nice and peaceful and there was even a table with children by us.
Now, I know bugs are somewhat expected because you are sitting outside but there were a lot of ants crawling on the ground and on the table. Maybe spray for them or something. Other than this everything was EXCELLENT!
We had a lovely dinner. We didn't know what to expect. The menu had many good selection. Every plate we saw go to different tables looks delicious. Our server, Tory, was tops. She was very attentive without seeming like she was hovering. Always there when we needed something. It was like she could read our minds. We will definitely be back!
A very “neat” find in Purceville, VA. Even though we live in Fairfax, will be repeat customers.
Excellent service, amazing food. Will definitely be back.
Had the burger and it was cooked perfectly and delicious. My friend had the chicken cordon bleu sandwich and it was cooked perfectly, the chicken was juicy and the ham was delicious and not salty.
Sydney, our server, was great. Food was very good as always. Best bacon award!
Everything from the moment we hit the door, from out of the drenching rain, was warm and welcoming. The blue chairs were a welcome luxury after working all day. The wine list is wonderful, but the menu is great! Filled with options to satisfy everyones individual desires. From a tasty green tomato BLT to beautifully seared scallops to a decedent Filet Mignon! Perfectly prepared by their talented chef, it’s apparent that the care & execution is top notch! The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. I highly recommend this wonderful gem 💎
We were seated in a quiet corner (as I requested) with surrounding windows. Our server, Sydney, was very attentive, helpful and pleasant.
The men ordered halibut and they both said it was done perfectly and tasted delicious. We women had the strawberry salad and shared appetizers... all were very good! Our wine flights resulted in each having a fave to order glass of each.
We then went to the basement bar where the bartender was fun and created martinis for us.
All in all, a very enjoyable evening with great friends, good eats, great place to be!
Started off with drinks underneath at The Pub. Then off to dinner with a party of six. Tai Spring Rolls continue to amaze; sauce is exquisite. I got the Fillet Mignon w/ A2 Steak Sauce with sides of the Risotto and Duck Fries. Steak was cooked perfectly at Mid Rare and topped with a little sauce and some greens that added just the right amount of additional flavor. Risotto/Duck Fries were both delicious. Our server Faith was delightful and was extremely cognizant of two food allergies in our group, having multiple discussions with the chef to ensure everything was safe. Plan to make West End a regular stop after a second amazing experience.
Our food was excellent and we appreciated the variety of menu options. Our server was not attentive and needed to be reminded to bring drink menus and water a number of times. Had it not been for the waiter, the restaurant would have been rated with 4 or 5 stars.
West End Wine Bar was a wonderful find for my husband and I. We just recently moved to Round Hill and been trying out new date night spots. This is definitely our favorite so far. Can't wait to bring friends out for an evening of good food and wine on the patio. We had a great time, the food was wonderful and our server, Nick, added to our enjoyment. We will definitely be repeat diners.
We were there with friends for our anniversary-our server thought it was our birthday-but her forgetfulness was just the first of many missed opportunities.
We came from the bar but only 3 of our 4 had drinks. We weren’t approached for at least 5 minutes-when our server asked “have your heard the specials?”-how could we have heard anything as no one but the busboy had approached our table.
Appetizer was ordered and delivered before we were offered drinks-we ordered wine —and it took another 10 minutes to arrive. When we had our dishes cleared, the busboy asked my guest if he would like to “keep your fork and knife”. We had ordered salads-and clearly needed additional silverware. Wine finally arrived and our server opened and the “re-corked” the bottle. I’ve never seen anything. like it. When our salads arrived, the derliverer “auctioned” off our salads interrupting our conversation.
Salad plates were cleared along with knives and forks and dinner delivered to our table with no complete silverware for any of us. No steak knife. And when our server walked by to check on us-she began to walk away from our clearly empty glasses. “May we have some more wine” I asked. She actually acted confused. Then poured wine from our bottle on the table.
We were offered dessert-no coffee, drinks or cordials-which we likely would have had if offered. Dessert arrived - and a plate with 4 spoons were left on the table for us to grab ourselves.
This disappointing and tactless service was only topped off by the baseball hat wearing kitchen staff wandering into the dining room to haplessly interact with staff members. As if they needed any more distractions than the dining room filled with guests - hopefully having a better experience than ours.
I’ve reviewed your establishment in glowing terms in the past, but if anyone believes that sweet yellow sauce and blood red risotto are a good match with over - garlic’ed pesto are a good match then they are also beyond lost.
The food was wonderful. The service was great. Tory did a great job as usual.
Quality food and a nice setting. The wine pours were on the light side, maybe 4 ounces at best but it may have been someone new at the bar. We have been several times and the food and service is always spot on.
Really enjoyed dinner there with my daughter and husband. They thought the wine selection was great. Will be back again soon.
Food was great! Enjoyed the Hanger Steak with creamed spinach and duck fries. Service was delightful. The house was just lovely and truly enhanced the dining experience.
The banana pudding was burned. The portion of fries was very little. The table next to us was loud that we had no choice to leave because we couldn’t hear each other. The server was nice but checked on us too much. Making us feel like we had to rush to eat and leave.
We had a very enjoyable time and brought two out of town friends who said thy would like to have dinner again when they come back to visit with us.
Our server "Faith" was extremely attentive and very warm and friendly. Never had to ask for a refill (Bottomless Mimosas). Dining outside was a real pleasure with a great view of the golf course. And the food was superb!
Food was excellent. Selections were inviting. Staff very knowledgeable and attentive
We all enjoyed Mother’s Day lunch at West End. Great food great service and a lovely ambiance!!!
West End is great. There are 4-5 restaurants in Loudoun co that are worth the drive and effort. West End Staff is wonderful. The special cocktails have imagination. The food sets it apart.
