Our calamari was over cooked, tough and “rubbery”. Our experience was uncharacteristic of nearly all of the many times that we have eaten at the West End. We consider it to be our favorite neighborhood eating spot. We will return.
Ambiance and service were both great! We arrived and had a table immediately. The food was decent. We ordered the cheese and tostadas apps, NY strip special, and scallop risotto (mushrooms and peas). The scallops were amazing! The risotto was good. The steak was cooked perfectly but a little on the small side.
Another great meal at the West End. Dominic was our server and he is terrific. It was also great to see Jim the manager, and Allie another server. We had a cheese plate, beet salad and a steak special, followed by a decadent dessert. Can't be beat.
Wonderful experience. Great ambiance.
The place is charming. The size is intimate and uncrowded. The staff is efficient, friendly and professional. The food was extraordinary. We will definitely be back!
New year eve dinner. Special menu well executed. Food quality, taste and quantity was excellent.
Parking was no problem.
As we are in the covid times, correct procedures were followed (tables were sufficiently spaced and staff was wearing mask)
New year Eve
Beautiful, cozy restaurant. Nice menu but food can be somewhat inconsistent. Sometimes good and sometimes not. We ordered beef stew and shrimp and grits for entrees. Shrimp and grits were tasty but beef stew was a mess. Huge chunks of beef and veggies with a little thin broth. Ended up taking it home where I repurposed it into a real beef stew.
West End is the best place in town! It is the first place we recommend to anyone.
Food preparation was excellent, however the pricing was relatively high considering. Local wines by the bottle was fair. Our server appeared to be overworked and a bit overwhelmed. Timing was a little awkward and communication was a little strained. Suggest it might just be due to recent labor shortages, and experience, as other visits were more relaxed and smooth. Not to say we did not enjoy the experience.
Great food but unnecessarily slow service.
N9ce local place to visit. Nice staff...very flexible on the fly. Good food and atmosphere. Recommend
Another great meal at the West End. It is a gem of a place. Reasonably priced with great service. Jim, the manager, couldn't be more welcoming. And, Dominic, our server was wonderful. We cannot wait to come back.
Best!!!!!!!! We will come back!
Amazing food beautiful restaurant the service was amazing as well I will definitely come back and bring more people 😊
Had a wonderful time! The food was great, service was awesome. The only thing I would have changed was put a smidge more seasoning on the Mac & Cheese and side of Brussels. The steak I had was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of demi glace and my husband loved his cubano.
Cozy, lively, comfortable, attractive, clean, and polite, accommodating staff, nicely presented and tasty food.
Great food and service-
WEWP is always great. The legacy of Brenda continues with Jim. We had a great meal, but it’s always great. We have been to WEWP maybe 30-40 times. I always wonder why I don’t go more. Jim was a wonderful host. Keep up the consistent great work.
LOVE this place! First time there and food was amazing, service terrific! We’re going back again this weekend we liked it so much.
It is our favorite restaurant in Purcellville. Love that is located at the West end of town, away from congestion, charming setting in an old house, good selection of wine, good food, good service, nice outdoor setting next to the golf course in nice weather.
Another great dinner at the West End. It was the first time Allie served us, and she was terrific. It was also great to see Jim. We shared the cheese plate, beet salad and beef tenderloin. What a meal!
Very creative fall inspired menu. The butternut squash soup was the highlight! Try the Apple cider margarita for a real treat!
Quiet, pleasant atmosphere. There was a somewhat extended period of time between our salad course and the main course. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable experience.
Outstanding food, wine and service!
Welcoming atmosphere. Very friendly and attentive wait staff. Delicious food.
We love this place!! Highly recommend. 😊
This was our first night out in awhile and our expectations were high. The West End Wine Bar & Pub exceeded them. The service was both unobtrusive and efficient, and the food was fantastic in all three courses. Our pinot noir was excellent. We left very full and happy. Will go again soon!
The service was superb. Very attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff. The front door host was friendly and welcoming.
The ambiance of the dining room was warm and nicely decorated. The exposed brick walls near the bar on the first floor added to the experience. The meal was top notch. A varied menu to suit all likes.
Prices were acceptable and reasonable. Cost of the wine by the glass seemed a bit higher priced, but the quality of the wine was good.
I know times are tough
But this was the second time we have been there & you were out of several menu items
& bottles of wine
West End is definitely a great place for special occasions. The price points don't lend itself to casual family dining in the evening, which is when we went. They are however, pretty standard for fine dining. The atmosphere is on the casual side, so that was interesting. One couple was dressed up, several tables were dressed down, we were in business casual attire, so really anything goes. I am looking forward to returning for bruch in the near future. The food was very good, the wine list is extensive and the cocktails and deserts are very good as well. It's nice to know there is an upscale restaurant with a comfortable vibe so close to home.
Cute place, the food was good, service was also good.
Outstanding dining experience. Highly recommend the pork - black cherry sauce fantastic. SO had a huge rockfish fillet (skin on) - was memorable. The service here is exceptional, staff is engaging without hoover. You know you are in the right place when the hostess DOESN"T ask, what can I do for you.
Had an early dinner here with my wife. Shared a cheese plate to start, which was nicely presented and very good. My wife had the local pork chop with blackberry and wine pan sauce, and substituted the beet salad in place of the two sides that came with dinner. I had the tenderloin with Au Poivre Sauce, potatoes confit and a side salad.
The pork was cooked perfectly and the pan sauce was delicious . The beet salad was also fresh and delicious. My tenderloin was cooked perfectly medium rare, potatoes were sort of nondescript, side salad was fresh and crisp with a flavorful yet not overpowering dressing. I would say the steak was a little bland and could have used a touch more salt.
I guess my only real negative was the seating and traffic. I had made a reservation for two, and though there were plenty of open tables we were seated at a two person table about 12 inches from the fireplace, right in front of the bar and in the path of non-stop foot traffic, which made for a very noisy and distracting evening. Our server was very nice but she was also tending bar, so while it wasn't her fault it was a little slow and it felt at times that we were sort of an afterthought.
The hostess and servers were fantastic! Very attentive but not overly so. The food was great! The ingredients were fresh and high quality and the menu felt seasonal. They put together delicious combinations that aren’t just the standard you see at a typical restaurant. All a step above!
Another great meal at the West End. Although they were quite busy, Dominic, our server, and Jim, the manager, were very welcoming and attentive to our needs. We thoroughly enjoy the West End, and cannot wait to return.
Lovely, charming place for a late Friday night dinner. Service was excellent, atmosphere quiet and spacious yet warm, and the food was very good.
Excellent quality food and service. Delightful attentive staff with great welcoming personalities.
