The Wentworth Ratings and Reviews
The food was delicious. The setting allowed for conversation, there was a large selection of wine, and the staff was friendly. The only drawback was the amount of time to be served the main dish. We had reservations for 6:45, was immediately seated, but did not receive the main course until just before 8:00pm. I would definitely reserve this restaurant again with hopes the serving time decreases. The food was Very fresh.
The food was, as usual, AMAZING! We are never disappointed here! Our only complaint was there were no available rooms! Not only would I recommend, I HAVE recommended several times. 1 recommendation is coming for a night stay and dinner on Thursday this week. Thanks for always being so consistently amazing.
The Wentworth is a casual elegant restaurant. I love romantic cozy feel. We stayed at the inn and got the dinner package which I highly recommended. The serving sizes were small but with all the course the size were perfect and delicious. We enjoy everything about dining experience!
Always a great meal, lovely atmosphere and perfect portion sizes (not so enormous that you can only have one course). Courses are timed perfectly so you are never rushed or waiting too long. And they serve dinner late on weekends so you can arrive with plenty of time for a relaxing evening. Nice wine choices too. Quality ingredients, you never feel like they are cutting corners.
Also great for breakfast! Served until 11 am on weekends, which is perfect for a leisurely day.
One of our "go to" places in the Valley when we are looking for chef inspired cuisine using local ingredients and where conversation is not drowned out by loud background music. The dining room is somewhat formal given that the setting is a lovely old inn. The prix fixe menu is a good choice and service is friendly. It is a good choice for a special occasion dinner.
This was the third time we've dined at Wentworth's and it was again outstanding in every way. The combination of rustic charm of a by-gone era, creative cuisine, and attentive staff makes for a great experience. The lighting is nicely dimmed and they even have menus with under lighting to save my aging eyes!
If you want cheap price fix ($40) with cheap ingredients , that is what you get. Wine list is also cheap. Think Costco. Wines are priced up 300% . An $18 bottle of wine cost $58 . Staff is very friendly. Just wish kitchen would raise the bar on the menu items , as well as increase price to $55. That would be an appreciated improvement.
This fine restaurant is nestled in the nice little village of Jackson NH and is a gem. My wife and I have dined here on several occasions and have always found the food, service and atmosphere to be excellent. If you stay at the resort always opt for the prefix meal option. It is a great value!
We stayed at The Wentworth and took the Dinner Package but diners can come in without staying at the inn. The food and the chef Brian Gazda are outstanding. The menu is limited, but there is a variety of choices. Since we were there for six nights we had almost all the menu offerings. All the ingredients were fresh and farm to table because the inn gets much of its produce and herbs from local farms. Everything including the wait staff is 5 star quality. We will return.
In general it was pretty good. Staff was pleasant and I thought the food was very good and nice portions and a nice atmosphere. A couple of issues
It took some time to be waited on initially and we were not offered a cocktail. I brought it up and was told they could take the drink and food order at the same time. Now when I go to a nice restaurant like this for a special occasion I like to place a drink order first and relax a bit before ordering food.
The Wentworth offers a Prix Fixe option for $40 for 3 courses. My wife and I opted not to get this as we were not having dessert. When we were done with our apps and main course we were presented with a creme brulee with a candle in it in honor of my wife's birthday. Now I had made mention of the special occasion on my Open Table reservation but I did not request a dessert and I thought this was very nice of The Wentworth.
When I received the bill there was an $11 charge for the dessert. Now I don't mind paying for the dessert but this brought the price above what the Prix Fixe would have been had one of us chosen this option! This made absolutely no sense to me.
We love The Wentworth, both the accommodations and the restaurant are lovely. Service is friendly, décor attractive, food good (and plentiful with the four course prix fixe). We stayed for two nights and had the breakfast and dinner included package. It is very reasonably priced and excellent value for money. I would recommended it 100%.
The Wentworth is always a delightful place, with excellent, tasty and creative dishes served with attention to detail, all in a comfortable setting. It's particularly wonderful for our family because the old-fashioned ambiance and well-appointed furnishings allow for great conversation, unlike many restaurants today which are overly crowded and noisy!
We booked a room at the Wentworth and opted for the breakfast and dinner inclusion option. The breakfast each day was great as well as the service. The cost for breakfast would have been $12.00 per person. Seemed a fair price. Dinner was four courses and the menu cost was high, but there was a dinner cost of $40.00 per person which we were charged. Would have liked the option to not have dinner each night there, but the website didn't appear to have an option for one night to be different. Felt some of the entrees seemed lack luster given the posted costs of $30. for an entree. The wine was expensive and the mark up incredibly high. A $10.00 bottle of wine was $38.00. When we ordered it, they didn't even have it. The dinner gives a formal feel attempting to be elegant, but didn't quite make the mark.
