Smaller food portions than other restaurants in the Valley but well presented and tasty. Recommend stopping at the bar first and then proceed to table with drink in hand - our server took 30 minutes to get us a drink. Otherwise service was timely and efficient.
Very nice place for a quiet dinner. Recommend it for couples. My husband and I think it was a little overpriced for the portion of food, but it was delicious.
My husband and I went here 15 years ago on our honeymoon. The food was very good then also. The service not so much. We had to practically beg our waiter for the check. This time the food was also good the service ok. We had to finally ask someone to get our waiter for the check. He ran our bill without the bottle of wine on it. Then he came back and said he need to run a new bill and our card got over charged by $125.00 and it automatically put a 20% tip on it. It was just the 2 of us. Plus we had left a 20% tip in CASH. My husband went back the next morning and he had to show them our account where the money had been charged. We will not be returning. FYI, there was only 5 other parties and we were the last to leave.
Dinning at the Wentworth is relaxing and very pleasant. The food is wonderful. I had a crab cake that was outstanding followed by a delicious lobster pie. My husband had a petite fillet that was perfectly cooked to his specifications, and a delightful salad with pears, blue cheese and crispy kale which he loved and he usually does not like kale.
The dessert was a lovely finish to out meal with creme brule and a carmel apple on pastry.
The staff was outstanding.
we were staying at the Wentworth and did the meal plan option- the meals were wonderful. Our dinner was not hurried and included 4 courses which were all very good. The menu was varied for our party of 4- we all actually got different dinners both nights we were there so we tried it all!
Breakfast was very large portions and delicious- I asked to have a smaller omelet made and they did a great job. Full of great veggies- just what I wanted!
There was only one other group in the restaurant mid week when we came to celebrate our anniversary. We asked to be seated away from them and got the table in front of the fireplace even though we were two and it was set for four. Expert friendly service and good food. Nice wine selection. The menus are lighted! What a great idea.
Absolutely fantastic food, attention to detail, wonderful service. Great place for that special occasion.
Very nice place ! I did reserve on line and requested a window seat. They did not offer us the seating arraignments requested even though the host mentioned our request
and window seating was avsilable. That was the only drawback as it was a birthday dinner!!
We drove three hours to enjoy the Christmas spirit abd this is our 2nd year Christmas eve wonderful place
I had the prix fixe shrimp cocktail, which was a little skimpy and seemed pre- frozen. Enjoyed the salmon entee which but it was a little dry; helped by the polanta and spinach. Ordered a dessert to go of bread currant pudding which made a delicious Christmas Day breakfast for me! The ambiance was incomparable. Service impeccable. Impressed by the led backlit menus. Beautifully decorated to inspire the Victorian Christmas sentiment.
The Inn as well as the restaurant get so many things right that others miss. The pan seared scallops were particularly tasty, the soups are wonderful, and the extra touchs like the lighted menus are really appreciated fo over 50 eyes when you forget your reading glasses
The food was terrific and the atmosphere as beautiful as we'd expect, but the wait between courses was agonizing, especially with two kids.... this was a three hour meal from the time we were seated until we left.
Meal was very good. We enjoyed the smaller courses allowing us to eat 4. We left with full bellies and would revisit. Atmosphere was quiet and had New England charm. We could have used a wedge under our table to cut the rocking down.
we dinned here for a special occasion and we stayed at the Inn the meal was included in our stay and dine package.
we were able to select anything on the menu for our 4 course meal , all of the selections we made were great and
we were not disappointed,
if we come back to the area we will stay and dine here again
Awesome awesome! This place is outstanding. The service was great. No pressure to leave also. Everytime we go up ti NH,we will defintely dine there. Food is superb!!!! 10 stars in my book
The food was excellent. Our server, Paul, was pleasant and efficient.
Restaurant was accommodating in allowing one in our party to expand an appetizer to an entree portion.
A most enjoyable dinner.
Our evening at The Wentworth was truly outstanding in so many ways. The food, the service, etc. were on the scale of "drive out of your way to dine here"! And did I mention how beautiful this establishment is? You really shouldn't miss it!
We go to this place every year around our anniversary. We got engaged here 15 years ago. The place was as beautiful and romantic as it is today. We had great weather this holiday weekend in October but in mid winter the inn will take your breath away. Stunning views, fireplaces in every room, a lovely bar with piano. The food is always amazing, the service excellent. After dinner cocktails with billiards relaxing.
Stayed 2 nights in the area (Nordic Village). Found Wentworth on TripAdvisor (voted #1 in Jackson).
Dinner twice there and understand why it's. Other number 1. It deserves it! Fine cousin, sophisticated taste, pleasant ambience and attention to detail service. The second time we were there, the host greeted us "welcome back!" Immediately. It's not that we'd been to there every day for a week or something but he sure remembered us.
The dishes satisfy you with great rich flavored, not heaping quantity which is not a small achievement. That's what you call fine dinning. And it comes with a very reasons price which is another gem.
Try it at least once and you will see my point.
We stayed at the Wentworth Inn with a dinning package. Each and every meal was delicious! The first night my husband ordered the beef tenderloin and commented that it was the BEST he has ever had. I tried it the following evening and I would have to concur....it was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth! We would DEFINITELY recommend dinning at The Wentworth !!
Everything about our evening was wonderful. Everything was delicious from soup to dessert. The wine list is notable, but if you are looking for just a glass the choice is quite limited.
I was happy the second we pulled in. The fall foliage was all around us and everything was lit up outside beautifully. As we entered the inn, the fireplace was going in the lobby and we could hear the piano player playing in the bar. We were greeted by the restaurant host who sat us at a table by the window looking out to the courtyard. All the menus light up when you open them, which was a nice touch in the dimmer lighting. My husband had the apple pork and he loved it, I had the beef tenderloin and it was also delicious. All the food was delicious and presented nicely. We left only spending $125 and that included tip. Overall we were very happy with the Wentworth Restaurant and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, romantic evening.
We went for dinner, our table wasn't ready but the host was kind enough to buy us a drink at the bar. Once we were seated, the meal and service was excellent. Will be back again in the near future.
My wife and I had dinner at Wentworth as part of our overnight stay. This was the last night of travels through New England looking at fall colors. The food and service were both outstanding. It was a nice way to end our vacation.
Have dined here a number of times throughout the year. Ordered a wedge salad and it arrived with a nice twist - it was shredded and arranged. Iceky with smoked bacon and cherry tomatoes. Easy to eat and very good. Enjoyed the risotto with oven baked asparagus and prosciutto. Lobster salad was tasty. Hake special deemed superb - but there were lumps in the mashed potatoes - a non no for an irishman!! Dessert almost caused us to lick the plates. Warm apple galette with calvados ice cream and caramel sauce. Thank goodness it was served with a spoon and fork to enable one to grab as much off the plate as possible!!
Beautiful spot with lots of character, nice ambiance, great staff and wonderful food. They have plaques on the walls for wine selection awards. I loved the art work, which was apparently all local as were all of the ingredients in the dishes, which I appreciate as well.
Good reviews may have caused us to expect too much. Setting was beautiful, not too formal but could be if want, and staff was very attentive and well timed. Food was good, but not great esp for the price. Spouse thought shrimp cocktail was tasty. Both of us had perfect sized beef tenderloin but could not taste the peppercorns so was kind of blah...and just not compare to what we get in Texas. Neither of us finished it due to lack of taste (not bad - just boring). Sides with it were very good (spinach, potatoes and string beans) Apple pastry dessert was excellent - perfect blend of spices, right size and would get again.
Cant say enough about the customer service at the Wentworth. Matre'd was awesome. Great atmosphere, friendly and seamless attention. We returned for our second stay. Both stays we said the same thing- Great place but the food portions at the dinner were stingy for the price paid for the inclusive package. This time we had used a gift certificate, but If we didn't have the gift certificate, we would not have stayed for dinner but would have gone to an area restaurant instead. Food was great, just not enough of it!
Dinner at the Wentworth was a highlight of our romantic anniversary getaway. Both our host and server were attentive without being annoying, and the tasteful ambiance fitted this charming historic inn. The backlit menus are a surprising novelty.
We both opted for the Prix Fixe menu, enjoying the complimentary amuse-bouche, tasty appetizers (the watermelon-feta tower was our favorite) and beef and lamb entrees each cooked to a perfectly melting medium-rare . We never felt rushed and ended our meal feeling satiated but not stuffed. Old-timey piano tunes caught our ear, and we ambled to the bar for some post-prandial entertainment. Definitely Wentworth it for a special occasion!
We stayed 2 nights in the Wentworth hotel (by the way: an excellent hotel) and had dinner on the first evening. The menu list was interesting, but short (the reason that we did not go there for dinner the secod night). The quality was very good and resonable in size (we could easily eat amuse geule, appetizer, amin course plus desert); pricing was OK. The staff was very competent and 'honoust' (she warned that the chosen sparkling wine was not chilled before it was put into the ice bucket, so I decided for a different bubbly :-) )
Food, service, and ambiance are 5 star and worthy of celebrating a special occasion or treat. The surprise is something I have never experience in any restaurant. I can't spoil it by telling you bit you'll know what it is before you even order6
Excellent formal meal. Excellent service.
Wonderful find! The food and the service were emmaculate!
We had a very nice dinner on a summer evening in this hotel dining room. It's a cut above most hotel food and definitely the best in the local area. The host was charming and helpful and our waiter was attentive and clearly wanted to make our experience wonderful. The mussels appetizer was outstanding, but the remaining dishes were good, not amazing. Tender chicken breast, interesting watermelon and local feta salad and fairly good pork chop. Desserts were nice, but again not exceptional.
If you love history, art, and delicious food and wine, support this wonderful old inn. The dining room is very beautifully lit, quiet ,and romantic. We eat out a LOT, and I have to say that the food was truly outstanding. I had the best pork chop (with a maple syrup something going on) that I had ever had, and my husband's salmon was, likewise, differently delicious. The chef here knows what he is doing. The servers were very sweet, and it is clear that they have all been through a training program. As a sidelight, there is a wonderful art gallery, with Hudson River styled art, a few strides away, within the inn. We drove an hour to get here, and it was definitely worth it. Will be back soon.
Excellent value! Atmosphere and food are wonderful.
A wonderful restaurant with great service. Quiet romantic atmosphere.
Sweet but elegant inn and restaurant with an interesting menu and wine list. We had a great dinner and an excellent brunch the next day.
First of all this place is beautiful! The dining room manager Josh was very sweet. My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and he went above and beyond to accomadate. The food was delicious and the presentation was the cherry on top! Doug our waiter did his job very well we never went without a thing! Overall experience was incredible and we can't wait to return in the very near future!
The food was magnificent...very romantic hotel. I only wish Open Table would offer points for dining....
