Halibut was hard & dried out but rest of meal was good - great service and they took my meal off the bill.
We had a fantastic waitress who took care of our requests with a smile and conversation. Food was very good I had the fresh halibut and my wife had soup and salad that was tasty and fresh respectively. Would go again when visiting Cannon Beach. Hi
Go to place in Cannon Beach.
My wife and I first came here 20 years ago in our honeymoon. The food and staff are just as good of not better now.
Not what it used to be.
High prices and mediocre food, not worthy anymore. Will not be coming here soon. Very small clams for starter, overpriced. My wife's seabass was salty and covered in butter. My lamb was tasteless and overcooked.
Home made English Muffins, Organic Eggs and the fresh made Hollandaise sauce makes one of the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had! Great service, friendly staff!
Music was bad 80’s pop and just loud enough to be very annoying. Recommend new playlist
This was a great choice for us. First of all Maria our server was beyond great. Fast, knowledgeable and made great recommendations. The music was nice and NOT too loud. The food was excellent. My SO had chowder and a salad but seriously both were very very good.. I had the salmon in tomato bisque. Perfectly done, moist and great delicate flavor. We finished with the cobbler and ice cream which I’m sure as homemade and of course the cobbler was. Loved the place and we will be back!
Our waiter was amazing and very funny, we made reservations online and asked for window seat it was gorgeous. The food was magnificent i had the a bowl of clam chowder it was to die for. My husband ordered filet mignon and i had halibut . It was fantastic cant wait to go back again.
The staff were very welcoming and attentive. Our server Maddy was friendly, knowledgeable, and thoughtful (wishing us a Happy Anniversary!). The food was delicious. The fresh crab cocktail was AMAZING, as was the fresh sturgeon with bacon & mushroom rendition.
It’s a beach favorite and we love the friendly staff.
Loud server, uncreative food. Sums it up. We wanted a great meal and got fried or food with sauces that covered up the tastes instead of supporting or highlighting the food. Bread was chewy...clearly been microwaved. Left as fast as we could. Skip this. Oh wait. They also reported to Open Table that we did not show up for our reservation and that “dings” our credibility with Open Table. SKIP IT
Beautiful setting, sunset was awesome and service perfect. Once the sun went down and it became quite dark in the restaurant. Wish it was brighter hard to read menus
Really great entrees and apps - nice touch to help celebrate our anniversary. Friendly service. Wish we’d have also had breakfast there but stay in Cannon Beach was too short. Next time!
Excellent experience, as always. I had the Salmon and my wife had the halibut. We shared the Brussels Sprouts appetizer, which we really enjoyed and had the chocolate cake for dessert. All of our food was well prepared and seasoned perfectly. (The sunset was epic!)
My salmon was delicious, not over cooked. My husband liked his clam chowder, though he thought his wedge salad was a small wedge for the price. The restaurant is not cheap, but the food, service and view was nice so we will go back. The prices for food in all of Cannon Beach are pricey. I would recommend this restaurant.
Mushy tasteless halibut for main
“Crispy” Brussel Sprout starter with hardly a Brussel sprout to be found and mushy rather than crispy.
Amazing service and exceptional food! I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family. We will be back!
The food and the service were wonderful
We ate at dinner at the Wayfarer twice during our trip to Cannon Beach. We had razor clams, halibut, and the tenderloin steaks. Our food was well prepared, presented nicely, and cooked to perfection. My only comment would be that the sides served with the meal could use refinement. My carrots were so undercooked that they were difficult to cut with my steak knife. The new potatoes lacked seasoning and weren't interesting. Both our drinks and wine choices were fairly priced and presented nicely. Our server was pleasant, well trained, and delivered excellent service. We will return each time we visit Cannon Beach. Their breakfasts are even better than dinner if you are interested!
Fantastic meal, staff, view, etc. Everything was perfect and delicious.
The restaurant is lovely and was not too noisy. Our waiter was warm and solicitous. The vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection. Accommodations were made for our dietary restrictions. We truly enjoyed the meal and would return again.
We found the chef to be very creative, and the sauce on the fish tried to mask the dry fish beneath. I also believe guest should be offered flashlights to read the menu when the room is so dark. Not everyone has phones with flashlights.
We found making a reservation for a window booth table was a waste of time!! My reservation
made in Sept was of little use!! We were told at our 5:30 reservation time, that there would not
be a window booth table available for at least another 45 min-to an hour, so we took another
table, rather then having to wait that long. But, after we had barely been seated, we saw a
window booth table become vacate!! We were not offered the chance to move to that table,
even tho we had asked for that type of table. I feel that even tho it is stated the restaurant
says they will try their best to accommodate, and reservations are recommended, and we
did make a reservation for that type of table, it should have been honored!!
Nice, quiet and relaxing. Food was done extremely well.
Amazing food. Definitely fine dining experience with a wonderful view of haystack.
We lived Kelly the bartender and Payton the waitress. Thanks to both!
Enjoyed a beautiful sunset looking at Haystack Rock. Food and Service was excellent!!
I hate giving any restaurant a bad review but our experience was poor. Reastaurant is far to dark, could barely see my wife sitting opposite me, food was bland and expensive. Cocktails were made from pre-mixed ingredients. We left before the mains. Sorry Wayfarer.
Special experience for our family. Our brother and sister had special anniversary plates for their 41st and the food, the food was delicious and perfectly timed by our server Kelly. She was fantastic with the details!
Previously we had poor service at this restaurant but we decided to return for he view. This time perfect service, outstanding ambience and outstanding food!
The poached salmon was amazing! We started with the crab cakes and roasted Brussel sprouts - both delicious. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the dining experience. Good wine list too. Please keep Abeja on there. Friendly, attentive staff. We will definitely go back when visiting Cannon Beach.
The food and service were great. Very fresh and flavorful cuisine, and warm and friendly service.
It was exceptional in all regards!
Had a wonderful experience at the Wayfarer Restaurant. We were lucky and got a booth next to the Windows overlooking Haystack. Our server Angelsea was excellent, very friendly and informative. She made us feel welcomed and kept checking throughout the meal to see if everything was to our satisfaction. We had the Halibut and Chinook Salmon, presentation and taste were excellent. If you have room, get the Haystack Heaven for dessert, delicious. This is a great Restaurant if you are in the Cannon Beach area, great food, friendly staff and beautiful views....what more can you ask for.
We had dinner at the Wayfarer (which also serves breakfast & lunch). It was quite busy & nearby parking was difficult to find...if you are staying nearby in Cannon Beach, walking to the restaurant would be an option. We had the razor clams & cast iron chicken dishes & both were quite good (the chicken cooked and served in a skillet was especially moist & tender). Dessert options were good as well. Items are a bit pricey, but not outrageously so. We would recommend it.
We have dined at the Wayfarer once or twice a year for over ten years. It has always been good, but has improved a lot in the last few years. Everything we have eaten here has been very good and the view of the beach is beautiful.
Got the wrong order but chose to eat it anyway since it was also salmon and had to wait such a long time to get it!
Service was a bit slow. I believe our server was also waiting on a large party in the. She was very pleasant however; stretched to thin. Halibut was slightly over done. Old Fashions were great.
Food was fantastic, waiter charming and the view was breathtaking
Good food . Too noisy
