The food was very good and reasonably priced. We went there for an anniversary party and although everyone was social distanced it worked out great.
The food was amazing! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They did a really good job with social distancing and making it easy to comply with.
I might recommend that they have someone other than the servers clear the tables just to minimize contact with diners dishes and utensils before serving the next diner.
The Wayfarer was a wonderful restaurant with superb fresh salmon sauté to perfection with en exquisite salad...!!!
Reliably good fresh food and knowledgeable service
Lighting was too Bright in the Booth area. We had to ask them to turn them down and once it really happen the entire Restaurant applauded!
The Food Was Very Good and we would go back again next time in Town.
The food was good, if a bit overpriced, but the wait staff and ambience were wonderful. I highly recommend making reservations for a window seat.
Excellent staff, mediocre food, outrageously priced for what you are being served.
I ordered crab cocktail. It was drenched in horseradish sauce. Staff offered some cocktail sauce to help reduce the heat. The sauce also had horseradish, so not edible!! They did bring me another plain crab cocktail. Husband ordered salmon that was so-so and to be served with cacio de pepe (pasta) but they served it with risotto that was nothing more than rice that was not completely cooked. No veggie, etc. The drinks were over priced as well. Maybe other menu items are better?? We can say we will not return to this restaurant. However, the view was very nice.
The only major complaint was the seating. I booked a table with a window view days in advance, for a special occasion. At the time absolutely no other reservations were made. When I got to the restaurant they had seated all the window tables. It would have been one thing for them to call me ahead of time and say they couldn’t accommodate the request , but they just completely ignored it for no reason. That is just laziness at its finest. We would have been willing to come earlier or later, but they just simply ignored it. Thankfully a party that was coming gave up their window table, and was able to give it to us. Which was really awesome, they staff themselves did an amazing job including our waiter. It’s just very disappointing on the managements part that they can’t do something as simply as fulfilling an extremely easy request to patrons who booked days in advance.
We arrived in time to view the sunset. It was wonderful, the grater when we arrived was rude, might have been the owner, he seemed arrogant. Our waiter was friendly, approachable and very helpful. I have the french onion soup and razor clams, both were very good. I would return.
Amazing food, fabulous wait staff and incredible view! You can’t ask for more!!
Went here for a birthday celebration. Great time — food, drinks, service. Birthday girl had the Crab Boil and was in heaven! I had the steak special and enjoyed it very much. Definitely will eat here again, and recommend it to anyone wanting delicious seafood. Beware the horseradish in the crab cocktail appetizer — it’s strong and we found it overwhelming. Also, note they advertise an ocean view, but our only view was that of the hotel between the restaurant and the ocean. Be specific with your reservation if an ocean view is a “must have”.
Went here for our baby moon/birthday/valentines weekend and were disappointed. We had overpriced average meal, would not recommend to anyone going to Cannon Beach. We arrived a few min before our reservation, but right before we talked to the host there was a family that arrived 45 min early and they were seated at the view booth we expected. Then another group arrived with 4 in their party of the 6 they expected and were given the other open booth. So we had to look through both booths to the view we should of had. Ugh! We ordered the chicken and fillet mignon, nothing special, they were both tough and the veggies were bland. Will plan to check out the one other nice restaurant a couple blocks down the road when we go back
Beautiful view of the ocean, sand and Haystack Rock. The food was delicious and wonderfully plated. Our waiter was funny and attentive without being too attentive. Great experience and we’ll go again.
Went for a quaint Valentine dinner and got a table with a beautiful view of Haystack rock. Little pricey for the portions served for dinner, desserts are delicious!! Our server would be the biggest reason we would go back. Reminds us of why we go out to enjoy a meal to begin with. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
This was our 3rd time eating there. First two times the food was great but this time it was very blah. Chicken was dry and didn't taste good, same with the fish. Service was great, view was outstanding but may not go back again based on our last meal.
Everything from the atmosphere to the service to the food was beyond amazing. I had the filet mignon which was melt-in-the-mouth amazing. The crème brûlée was to die for! Simply the best I've had in more than 20 years. There is so many things that can go wrong making a spot-on crème brûlée and they made none of those mistakes. It was such a pleasurable experience that I would gladly drive from Portland to Cannon beach just for a dinner at this establishment and back again afterwards.
We enjoyed fabulous breakfast and dinner 2 nights in a row. Great food and excellent service!!!!
The window seating gives you a spectacular view of Haystack Rock. The food was very delicious. A definite place to have a nice meal when in Cannon Beach.
The food was not as delicious as I had expected. The Risotto had too much onion. The salmon was good but not great. Wasn't seasoned very well.
Fine dining at the beach is different from fine dining elsewhere, because we're all at the beach in beach clothes, in beach weather, and the Oregon Coast is not where one goes for "suit and tie, stuffy wait staff, and white linen table cloths." And the Wayfarer was perfect for our anniversary dinner.
We dined here twice for dinner during our weekend stay in Cannon Beach. We loved the ocean view and our server was excellent!! We ordered the crab cakes, the steamers and French onion soup!! All of it was very good, so good we came back for more the following evening. We got there about 4:30-5pm each evening and had a reservation, we got a booth with the ocean view each time because we were so early not many people were there for dinner yet! Go, you won’t be disappointed!
Great food and great service
The food never disappoints here. The crab appetizer is full of chunky fresh crab and the halibut entree was cooked to perfection. We love the focaccia and the chocolate dessert is worthy of every calorie! A great choice in Cannon Beach and generous portions!
Steelhead was perfectly prepared and excellent flavors. Crab cocktail vert yummy and fresh! Attentive without being annoying service!
We had an appetizer, entrees, dessert and drinks and EVERYTHING was amazing!
I really wanted it to be good because of the beautiful view and atmosphere. Unfortunately the food was bland, the fish overcooked and the service was questionable. Server seemed like he was on drugs, he was jumpy and spastic. Cocktails were not balanced and expensive. All the waitstaff had filthy shoes and aprons which is unfortunate for a nice restaurant. Not worth the $280 price tag we paid.
Delicious food for our little Christmas getaway on the coast. We arrived 1.5 hrs before our actual reservation because we ended being hungry earlier than expected. They were able to seat us under 10 minutes. We got seated with a view of the beach as the sun was setting. The food was delicious. I got the Salmon Caccio e Pepe Risotto, husband got the filet mignon, and we shared spare ribs poutine fries and burrata crostini. Everything tasted fabulous! Highly recommend.
Wonderful meal and service. Temperature was so cold my wife put her coat back on. Couldn’t warm the restaurant due to the fireplace in the lounge/bar.
Our server ruined our dinner. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and our anniversary so we were happy and ready to enjoy our meal. The server did not come to our table for quite a while. Her demeanor was less than pleasant when she arrived. She failed to check on us to see if we needed another drink, more tarter sauce, water, etc. Very poor service for The Wayfarer. My husband was not served his food on a birthday platter which is a tradition at this restaurant....another slight in service.
We had made reservations for another time at the restaurant before we left to return to our home, Because of the experience we had, we cancelled it. This incident saddens me as we have been customers for years and this is our favorite restaurant in Cannon Beach.
Halibut was hard & dried out but rest of meal was good - great service and they took my meal off the bill.
We had a fantastic waitress who took care of our requests with a smile and conversation. Food was very good I had the fresh halibut and my wife had soup and salad that was tasty and fresh respectively. Would go again when visiting Cannon Beach. Hi
Go to place in Cannon Beach.
My wife and I first came here 20 years ago in our honeymoon. The food and staff are just as good of not better now.
Not what it used to be.
High prices and mediocre food, not worthy anymore. Will not be coming here soon. Very small clams for starter, overpriced. My wife's seabass was salty and covered in butter. My lamb was tasteless and overcooked.
Home made English Muffins, Organic Eggs and the fresh made Hollandaise sauce makes one of the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had! Great service, friendly staff!
Music was bad 80’s pop and just loud enough to be very annoying. Recommend new playlist
This was a great choice for us. First of all Maria our server was beyond great. Fast, knowledgeable and made great recommendations. The music was nice and NOT too loud. The food was excellent. My SO had chowder and a salad but seriously both were very very good.. I had the salmon in tomato bisque. Perfectly done, moist and great delicate flavor. We finished with the cobbler and ice cream which I’m sure as homemade and of course the cobbler was. Loved the place and we will be back!
Our waiter was amazing and very funny, we made reservations online and asked for window seat it was gorgeous. The food was magnificent i had the a bowl of clam chowder it was to die for. My husband ordered filet mignon and i had halibut . It was fantastic cant wait to go back again.
