We have become addicted to the Sunday Brunch here - our server, Amal is wonderful - she takes care of you. The food was again great. My daughter and I had the special raw bar of cooked shrimp and raw oysters as an appetizer - great my husband had the baked oysters, this kitchen's version of a n oysters Rockefeller -for entrees - we had the Cuban Benedict, the traditional Benedict, and a special hamburger w/ mangeo cheese respectively - all cooked perfectly - my granddaughter, 7, had the French toast ala dulce w/bacon she loved it.
Fantastic service and the quality of the food is always right on!
This restaurant is just way too noisy. The food is just OK.
We came for "Steak Night" - which is only on Wednesdays - had a great meal, both for food and service. Our server, Lisa very efficient and attentive - I had the tuna tartare appetizer - delicious flavor combo with top grade ahi tuna. My husband had the misto ceviche which he said was likewise delicious. Our daughter had the steamed mussels which were rich in a garlicky, white wine broth. As part of Steak Night, we all opted for the Wedge Salad - very good. For entrees we all had the Strip Steak served on an extremely hot stone with mashed potatoes, watercress and your choice of sauce - a demi glaze or chimichurra we all three loved our dishes. Our granddaughter, 7, loves the child's plaintain, rice and black bean plate - again it was done perfectly. Steak Night also means 1/2 price on certain bottles of really good wine - Great food and service restaurants - one of the very best in Vero Beach.
All four of us had great meals and everything was served hot all at the same time.
Would definitely recommend to my friends and others. Look forward to going back.
This is a great Sunday Brunch experience - traditional brunch choices such as eggs Benedict or smoked salmon omelet along with those with a Cuban twist, Cuban eggs Benedict. If you are not inclined toward breakfast items; they offer there regular lunch menu. best of all, there is a great add-on - all u want fresh oysters on the half shell and shrimp bar - also Great Bloody Marys!
Way too loud - the food is good but menu does not change. Servers are decent but do not go if you remotely want to have a conversation. It’s ridiculously loud to the point of being uncomfortable. We were with friends visiting from out of town and we could not even have a converasation. Skipped dessert and coffee to have it at home so we could talk there. Very frustrating!
We were able to get a table when most other high end restaurants in town were already booked. We had a wonderful drink in the bar before dinner. Dinner was excellent and the service was great. Will be returning soon.
I have only a single complaint, and I won't lose any sleep over this. When I booked the reservation, I added that this was our anniversary, our 46th. Not a mention was made of this before, during, or after the meal was completed and the check was paid. Otherwise, my wife and I loved the restaurant, the service, and the food.
Dining as a couple. Offered table by the door - distant from the main dining area. Asked for the vacant table ‘in’ the room . “Someone has reserved that.” On way out asked to reserve a table for later in week. “You can’t reserve a table!” Make up your mind Megan. O.K. Will put in a request for near the window. “O.K.” Email confirmation states “not near the bar.” I give up. Cancel and eat at Tides instead.
Dave excellent. Food perfect.
Very loud. Not a place for a romantic dinner but a great place for friends and family to gather.
While the food was good, my first visit here was much better. Our waitress really didn't care about checking back with us until it was time for the bill. There was a "bus person" who took our plates away without asking and one person was far from done with their meal. She was also rather rude when we asked her to wait. But the real problem was that the restaurant is so noisy that we could not even talk at our table. All of the surfaces are hard, people were literally screaming to hear one another so we just looked at one another, didn't order wine, didn't order dessert, just ate our entrees and left as soon as possible. I won't go back.
Food and service good and efficient.Noise level untolable LOULD
We enjoyed the barbecue shrimp and the calamari. The scallops are the best I have tasted!
Have been eating here for few years service is outstanding and food always good
Food was cold for both of us, had to send it back. Cooks not paying attention, dad.
Delicious! We ate at Wave each day during our stay at the hotel. The food was always terrific. The noise level was deafening during dinner and we had to shout at each other to hear but during the day it was much quieter. Overall great.
Good food, friendly service, always good.
We have dined at the wave kitchen many times and were sorely disappointed this time. We went for brunch. My husband and I ordered quiche. When the waitress arrived with our dishes, we were astonished as the quiche was the size of a cookie and cost around $15. Because we were with other guests, we didn’t say anything but had we been alone we would have. Wave kitchen should be ashamed of themselves for serving such a small portion for that amount of money.
Delicious food, happening vibe, professional and friendly Waitstaff. But loud! Very, very loud.
Food was fantastic! Very fresh and flavorful. Our server was fantastic! Very accommodating, especially to my dad who forgot his reading glasses. She took the time to explain the menu to him and didn’t make him feel like a chore at all! We had a great dining experience, would highly recommend!
Great food and service.
We were very disappointed with this restaurant. Noise level was extremely loud. Service was not what we had expected. Even the tables around us were notably unhappy as well (sending food back). My chicken had no taste at all and my husband's fish was overcooked. Very expensive for what quality was provided.
Our Valentine's meal was superb! Michelle provided excellent service. It was the BEST Valentine's date we have had in the 40 Valentine's Days we have shared together.
My husband and I go to The Wave and the Cabana Bar often. We had friends visiting from San Francisco. We decided to take them to The Wave for Valentine's Day. They loved the place. The food was delicious as always!
Couldn’t have been more enjoyable
The food was excellent specializing in seafood .I was my second time there this season in Florida and it was quite busy this time. With a lot of people dining at the same time the noise level is very high and not pleasant.
found the space to be too loud to enjoy any conversation with my wife, it was so loud that we found ourselves repeating our food choices to the waitress, over priced for atmosphere would never go again
My dish was absolutely delicious. I had the scallops from the regular menu, sort of bronzed scallops with creamy polenta and sautéd spinach, yum! My dining partners were lukewarm about their meals. One had the salmon the other Caesar salad with 1/2 a lobster . This salad / lobster combo is not offered, but the staff made an exception to accommodate my sister-in-law’s request. Only downside for me was noise level.
Very good food and excellent service. Due to the acoustics it was very noisy and loud. Would return if they had outdoor seating.
We decided to come here at the last minute - was not disappointed with the food and service. David is a great server - he knows the menu and makes you feel special. It was "Steak Night" where they offer different steaks of your choosing and chef specials. We shared the barbeque oysters for an appetizer. This is a delicious dish - very New Orleans - I had one of the Chef specials - Rack of Lamb - it was so good - cooked perfectly, almost decadently delicious. My husband had the regular menu Pan Roasted Red Snapper - it's always a great choice. My only issue was with our bar drinks - come on - a 30 minute wait - the bartender should take care of the "foodies" eating first rather than the bar crowd""
Waitress was extremely helpful and friendly. Food was very very good! A little loud for our taste, but many would enjoy the energy.
Reserved through Opentable. The noise level was deafening!! The couple in front of us at the hostess stand said they could not eat with that noise level and left. Service was slow at best. Sat us by the kitchen door. They brought two out of the four appetizers and after five minutes or so I flagged down the waitress and got the other two. Ran out of my menu choice and it took a long time after we initially order to let me know and offer me another selection. What I got was so salty it was terrible. We told the waitress we were leaving and left. In their defense I did receive a call from the manager the next day. But we are not going back......
Dear Opentable your choices for ‘Noise level’ need to be expanded.
We made a reservation through open table with no problem. We Will return another time because it was so enjoyable. The food was great and the atmosphere was wonderful.
Out server David was great!
The highlight of evening was HECTOR the Valet, he showed true professionalism and a willingness to listen. He is a TRUE ALL-STAR!! We met him with a big smile as we arrived and the same when we left. Drinks are very pricey however they were good. I ordered the Special which was a 14oz. bone strip steak. It was very THIN and I ordered it med. rare and when it was presented it was drenched in the sauce way too much and was RAW!! They need to get a new Chef, he could not cook a thin steak to med. rare has no business in the culinary field, truly awful to be celebrating a special occasion. Then when the manager comes over they only want to give a free dessert. A free dessert when you can not even enjoy dinner, they should have comped the entire check, free dessert WOW! My wife ordered the Scottish Salmon which came out luke warm at best and the veggies were stone cold. I do compliment The Wave Kitchen and Bar for ruining what a thought was going to be a special night. The dining room was extremely noisy you had to yell to hold a conversation. DO NOT GO!
paella for two came with two shrimp, two scallops, lots of clams and mussels, chicken, chorizo; just okay. So salty I woke thirsty all night and drank 3 bottles of water. loved the calamari appetizer and loved the dulce de leche cheesecake shotglass. Both excellent. Watiress Lisa so nice, helpful, and subtle. Bottle of wine was good but ultra, ultra expensive. Not so crazy about looking out the window at fat drunks in the hot tub ...
Two of us had the waygu beef palomilla. Very tough and stringy
Really wanted to enjoy brunch, but it was a train wreck.
For everything that went wrong (and it was lots...) our table waitress and the restaurant Manager were incredibly apologetic and helpful. They really tried to make things right, but they were clearly fighting against an incompetent kitchen and bar staff.
Food: Menu is extensive for brunch, and ceviche was very tasty. Get the florida/local one, it's better than the Peruvian. Cuban coffee at the end was great...strong and hot, albeit too much sugar (remember the guest can always add more at the table but it's impossible to "remove" too much).
Manager: Was incredible. As soon as she was advised our drinks, which we ordered 47 minutes ago (this is not a typo) still were not at the table, she listens and looks you in the eye, checks back often to see if things are getting back on track. If it had not been for her, we would have walked out. We wanted to hug her as we felt so bad for what she was trying to fix.
Deafeningly loud. You cannot hold a conversation at this restaurant, so come with people you don't want to talk with.
Food: Cold. Note to Chef: have a timer next to each dish once it's off the grill/oven....look at it often. It should be delivered to the guest within 2-3 minutes after being finished. Find out where the bottle neck is, as food is arriving stone cold to the tables. This is a reflection of your skills as you lead the kitchen team/food quality.
Bar: Train wreck. Enough said. Hire an experienced bartender when you are offering Sunday "endless" drinks with your brunch. Premake gallons of your "homemade bloody mary mix', because since they are endless....having one pint on hand is a disaster waiting to happen.
Crowd: Assume Sunday brunches will bring in lots of people and you will be busy. Staff accordingly and have some extra staff to handle unusual things that come up.
All and all, we discussed it and will not return anytime soon unfortunately.
This place is a gem among the fine restaurants of Vero Beach. The delicious entrees and their innovative presentation delighted my guests and me. The Wave has become my go to place in Florida for superb food and ambience.
