The Waterside Restaurant and Wine Bar
We invite you to experience our relaxed- casually elegant atmosphere, with sweeping views of the Channel Islands Harbor. We are sure you'll love what you'll find at The Waterside Restaurant and Wine Bar.....
Great friendly service. We enjoyed the food and reasonably priced for the area.
Great food! From appetizers to desserts. Wonderful service! Amazing drinks!
We were there for lunch at 12:00pm and were the only customers there. It felt awkward and we were seated out on the patio because we asked for a water view. It was quiet and pleasant with a view of s very sleepy marina but slightly chilly and I asked for a heater to be turned on. It quickly got too warm so we asked to turn it off after a bit. The server accommodated but seemed slightly annoyed. A few other people arrived and when I went inside to use the restroom, I noticed other tables were served bread and butter. We weren’t. The food was very good, however, hence the 4 star rating. Not sure we would go back, though.
Excellent ambiance and great entertainment
Loved the ambiance for our patio brunch! Live music was a nice addition to the harbor views. We made a reservation and included a few special requests and all were executed flawlessly. It was a birthday celebration and their service and the cuisine was wonderful. Loved the birthday treat (no embarrassing singing, thankfully!) too! We definitely recommend Waterside for a Sunday brunch on their patio.
Went here on Easter. Food was great (Prime rib, chicken, salmon). Got seated quickly ans service was fast. This was our first time trying Waterside, but will go back.
Overall we enjoyed the food and value of the menu selections .Having made a reservation way in advance it was a bit disappointing that our table was right next to the buffet tables which was in a very tight spot.
Third time there in a month. Great band playing and lots of dancing. Good food and service once again.
Restaurant was great - location, cocktails, food, service - a little too expensive is all. Favorite part was how dog friendly it was - loved that! We will be back.
Second trip to this restaurant. Great location and excellent service. Food was very good also. We will be back.
We love the Waterside Restaurant for its friendly atmosphere, especially on weekend nights when they have live music.
We have been coming here on weekends for several years now and have always enjoyed it very much.
The food has never been the highlight of our experience but we kind of were ok with it because we enjoy the atmosphere and the music so much. Recently however we've noticed a significant increase in prices while the actual food has not improved -the old menu did not pretend to be fancy and the basic food was good and reasonably priced. There was always interesting chef's specials and my kids also loved the BBQ menu on weekend nights.
This past Saturday there was no specials on the board, they were out of the salmon on the regular menu and when they offered a branzino instead of the salmon they omitted to tell me that the price was $37 for a whole fish ( had to take out the head, the skin, the bones by myself) and some mashed potatoes.
since I did not want mashed potatoes they offered veggies and I asked for carrots and cauliflower; they served broccoli and cauliflowers, no carrots, while I had specifically said I di not like broccolis- and it was just steamed veggies. The fish was OK but overall not worth the $37.
My husband had their beef patty and for some reason the spices did not do him well and he felt sick all night afterwards. We also had tzatziki for appetizer and it was so "garlic-y" that I felt like I had been eating garlic for the all night...
Thankfully the live band was awesome and the festive atmosphere was very enjoyable.
We will continue to come but have already slowed down on the frequency of our visits due to the food and prices changes and we can only be hopeful that they will come to reason and revisit their menu in the future...
Hello LaZiza, Thank you for your feedback. Please feel free to reach out to me. I would like to know a little bit more about your experiences and get some more feedback about how to make Waterside THE spot. You can reach me at 805.985.4677. Thank you, Tony
Nice location, lots of locals spending their Friday there. And great live music!
Great brunch special . Service was great . I would go again once back in town . Specially during spring and summer days
My favorite place to visit when I am in the area. Food, music and service is always wonderful.
Wonderful intimate restaurant and bar for the the locals and those just visiting. The rib appetizer is excellent, the Cioppino was delicious, as well as the shrimp scampi. The place is very nice, with great service and the drinks are made to perfection. Live music on Thursday-Sunday and we were pleasantly surprised by The Blue Motel band. Great for foodies, perfect for a date night, perfect for brunch, lunch or dinner. I happen to love the ambiance as well.
Excellent restaurant. We liked it so much that we went back the next night for more. Waitress/waiter very attentive. Owner was there to greet us both nights. Excellent food right on the harbor.
Great place to dine alone or with friends, have a drink and enjoy the marina.
We I've been here before and the menu was much more expensive very very good. Tonight we found a limited menu I got twice the price of what we normally would pay here. Service is great, they bent over backwards actually not sure if it's worth the value. I can tell you that the bar drinks are excellent
Good food and interesting selections. Good value.
Fun place for dinner with friends, brunch. I'll be going back I'm sure. The owner was there both times we ate there, he makes sure to visit with diners, asking if they're happy with the meal, and seems to be going out of his way to please his customers. The food was beautifully made and presented. He told us they'll soon be baking their own rolls, breads and dessert treats. You don't find that everywhere!
My husband and I went here for dinner on Saturday, Jan 19. I ordered the prime rib and he ordered a Mediterranean dish. He said his tasted like spiced hamburger patties, and his "blackened fries" that were listed on the menu came as plain french fries. My prime rib was not prime rib at all, it was a fatty rib eye steak. The total came to $120 and he is still talking about how disappointed he is.
Hello Kryzentia, Thank you for joining us on Saturday. As of now Waterside does not offer a Prime Rib dish. We offer it on special occasions. The Biftekia your husband had, they are actually traditional Mediterranean beef patties as described in the menu. They look like burgers, but the flavor is totally different. I will personally make sure to deliver your feedback to the chef for the blackened seasoning. Please join us again so we can make it right. Thank you, Tony 805.985.4677
Great location on the harbor. Good food and good prices. Service was attentive
Award winning clam chowder was excellent. Sand dabs entree was very good. Live acoustic music by Goleta Sound was very nice.
We are here two nights in a row while visiting in the area. The people were VERY nice and accommodating. The salads were excellent, the main dishes mediocre, the drinks good. Clearly we liked the overall experience enough to come back!
Had a lovely Brunch gathering of 15 Ladies yesterday on the outside patio with a beautiful Harbor view. Wonderful service, good food and drinks. The entertainment was a terrific bonus!! I’ve had Brunch here several times before and have never had a complaint.
Definitely recommend this place!
Excellent service and delicious food. We'll definitely be going back.
We were celebrating the birthday of a friend and it was terrific. The servers went out of their way to make it a great experience.
We always enjoy dining at Waterside, but tonight was special. It was our first time experiencing the Channel Islands Harbor Christmas boat parade. The view is great from Waterside, and there were lots of people trying to get in for their reservations all at once. The two lovely hostesses were confronted with many impatient and less than courteous patrons. I applaud both of them for their patience and grace under stressful conditions.
And our dinner was delicious, and the band providing the evening’s musical entertainment was wonderful.
This place has become a holiday favorite destination. We drive for 90 minutes to enjoy ..
We made a 10:00 a.m. reservation on the patio on Sunday and expected music during our hour and a half but all we saw was a woman plugging in equipment and at 11:30 when we left, not one bit of music had been played. We were disappointed.
The atmosphere and food were good. The outdoor area is nice. The service was slow in delivering our
meals, following up for coffee and desert and providing our check (we needed to ask for the check).
Always love coming to Waterside Restaurant! Great food, quick and excellent service by hostesses & wait staff - inside or outdoors! Wonderful live music & great scenery!
Great experience overall. Live band was playing and made for a nice evening out with my wife.
They tried to call me when I was on my way there to not accept my reservation. Got there and appetizers only. Declined their offer. Did not eat there
I loved the atmosphere & food & service! I went to listen to live music band, which were terrific—Sean Wiggins! Will recommend highly
Band was tooooooo loud on Sunday PM for this small glass enclosed space. They would have been fine with no amps rather than making dinner conversation impossible. Really disappointed - - - we had a special guest with us and our experience didn't live up to our expectations.
We've stopped in to Waterside many times, but recently, for my mother's birthday lunch. I really appreciated the table with a view and the service. Our server, Gwen, took great care of us from beginning to end. Thank you! Also want to give a shout out to Sunday brunch and mimosas--fun to pop in after a long week to listen to music while enjoying delicious food. We'll be back.
Great restaurant with beautiful views of the harbor. The fish & chips were good but a little too much breading for my taste. Chardonnay happy hour wine & the black ink red blend were fantastic. The staff was very accommodating with seating and food/drinks. Would recommend.
Our third time here, enjoying the patio ambiance and live music. The food is excellent and we usually enjoy the live music. This time the speakers were turned up so high that you could not converse at the outdoor tables. Moved tables to the back of the patio, but it was still so loud we practically had to shout to be heard across out table. Hope this is a one-off, but management should check sound level so that music adds to experience, not takes away. It is a great place for lunch or dinner and we always enjoy the food. Service is prompt, good and friendly. One of the most fun places to go right along they harbor. Ample self-parking.
Thank you once again for accommodating me, as I am the wife of the conga player from Goletasound. The food is great. Hostess recalled my name and our waitress is awesome and very friendly.
