The Waterside Restaurant and Wine Bar
We invite you to experience our relaxed- casually elegant atmosphere, with sweeping views of the Channel Islands Harbor. We are sure you'll love what you'll find at The Waterside Restaurant and Wine Bar.....
Can't say much because they were closed due to a kitchen fire! But at least they called personally to cancel our reservation and to apologize and ask that we come again.
Always great with great service as well. Tarking the Covid serious too so we feel safe.
We were late in ourcreservation- but made it before closing. The waiter assured us it was fine and there were minimal dishes not available.
The drinks were generous and fast coming. My beer on tap cold .
My clam chowder was hot and full of clams and my wedge was crisp. The others ordered the fish stew which was plentiful. A nice evening.
The service is always great, very happy waiters and waitresses. The food is just not up to par! I should have sent my Cuban sandwich back, but I was starving and it took at least 45 minutes to get it, I was afraid the reorder would be even longer..... The Sandwich was over cooked/pressed (almost broke my tooth biting into it), hardly any meat, small amount of cheese, and not much dressing, the fries seemed as if they were reheated from earlier as well. When I gave my husband the half I didn't eat, he was shocked at how bad it was. I will for sure speak up the next time......
Hello Judy, Sorry to hear about your experience. Please feel free to let myself know, or the manager on side and we'll take care of you right away. I will print your review and will discuss it with Chef. Thank you for your feedback and support, Tony
During the Covid pandemic, we have been to The Waterside several times and feel extremely comfortable on the patio
Service took to long. Food was not very good and brunch was till 3 PM. I was in the mood for a good lunch maybe some seafood and I dont mean fish and chip's. The menu was not appetizing
Great fun place with wonderful staff and delicious food at a scenic location.
Unfortunately it seems things have gone downhill. The service was poor. The food was bland.
Hello John, I am sorry to hear that! Please reach out to me. I would like to know a little bit more about your experience. In addition I would like to know how can we make it up to you. firstname.lastname@example.org 805.985.4677 Thank you, Tony
Good food reasonably priced. Only downfall we made reservations for 6:30 pm seated at 6:45. Service was slow .
Had a very limited menu and the wine selection was weak at best. I'll be back once they are back to inside dinning.
They charged me a different (higher) amount than what I had signed for, so I can't recommend going to this restaurant. I called them 3 times to have them fixe the charge on my card, but they said they can't refund any money after a charge is finalized. They then promised to send me a check in the amount they over-charged me, but this was over 2 months ago and I still haven't received any refund.
Great food service and view. Love going there. Food is always exceptional.
Great atmosphere, always delicious food and good service. Love Happy Hour especially!
we were celebrating 2 birthdays and the birthday girls were very pleased with their lunch and the surprise dessert of tiramisu
We felt very comfortable amidst the CV-19 pandemic. We had the side patio all to ourselves. Our server was lovely we all wore masks until our food was delivered. One constructive criticism: my husband and I split a meal and we asked for an extra plate. We were brought a bread plate. You still have to wash the plate and you can’t put food on a bread plate. Need a dinner plate.
Food excellent as usual and service good. It was a chilly evening and all the propane heaters were useless as they were empty of propane!! Realize it’s summer but it is the beach!!!!
Super accommodating for my large party. One of the few places in the water taking reservations and I was a little late but they held my table for us in a great spot. It was a great happy hour and food is great
A very nice meal in a very nice location. A little noisy because some Harleys went by (we were outside per regulations) but other than that it was quiet.
Food was great. The chowder is good, but not as good as the last time we were there. Maybe a little watery/thin? Suggestion: If you are running out, just run out and dont sacrifice quality.
Ahi tuna was the catch of the day by the time we got there and was rare as I like it. The riblets were very good as well. I thought there would be more variety of seafood as a lot of the commercial fishing vessels are docked right behind the restaurant
A very positive experience and we will be back.
We enjoyed a beautiful Saturday afternoon dining on the waterfront. Social distancing was enforced and the food was delicious.
I have eaten here many times, not sure what happened but the food was terrible. I ordered the California omelet which actually turned out to be a burnt egg with some vegetables and avocado on top.
It was so nice to be able to dine-in (outside) at the Waterside again! We were very comfortable with the safety precautions of the staff.
I had the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce, and it was out of this world! My husband loved the short ribs. We will go back soon. :-)
The service and good was excellent.
Went on a music night, a bit loud but staff very helpful in moving us. Nice location.
Long wait for drinks. Long! Three of four people couldn’t have what they ordered because they “ran out”. Very mediocre food. Such a lovely setting and so much potential. Too bad.
Hi Kelly, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. As you are aware, I stopped by at your table and I apologized in person. We also took care of your round of drinks because of the inconvenience. Fish & Chips is a very popular item at Waterside. I am sorry we sold out of that item today. I hope you'll have the chance to try it next time you visit us. If you need to share more about your experience please feel free to call me at 805.985.4677 or email me at email@example.com
Lovely weather and fabulous band...the Coconuts. Love their fun, casual music.
We like the area. We live across the bridge and sometimes will see our neighbors there. We will try the brunch next visit.
Great Food and nice entertainment. Made for a fabulous evening with our friend in town. I will be back!
Went for the Brunch for a birthday weekend
Came for drinks and dinner. Super excited that Chef Alex Montoya was working that night! He even stopped by and said hello. He is a class act. The owner Tony stopped by and checked in with tables as well. I was really impressed by the service. I think our waiter’s name was Steven, he was great too. The food was cooked perfectly and came at a great pace. The sauce on the ribs was delicious. The drinks are great too! Only thing is the music on Saturday night was pretty loud, so might want to make a note on your reservation for the outside patio or terrace if sensitive to loud music.
Arrived at this restaurant only to find it locked and out of business so I can't recommend it!
Hello A90265, I am sorry if this happened. I would like to let you know that we are not out of business as you mentioned above. At Waterside we have changed our hours of operation. You can reach me at 805.985.4677 or with an email through the website. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you, Tony
Average food, average service
Very disappointed, I don’t think we will be back. The food is mediocre and the service was awful once again. We received incorrect orders that the waitress was still going to charge for and food came out at different times. Flowing champagne stayed empty way too long, waters empty too long, had to request condiments multiple times. Brunch burger has shrunk in size and had bones in the meat. The English muffin on the eggs Benedict was like a thin cracker. The Texas style chorizo on the chiliquiles taste like unseasoned ground beef.
It’s nice to sit out on a patio in the harbor for brunch and the zucchini sweet bread was good but being treated so poorly when you are a paying customer is not okay.
Very nice evening Great New Years Eve menu and great wine
Thank you! Please join us again. We would like to hear from you once we announce our new menu.
Absolutely impressed with new management! Was delighted that the Chef came to our table to ask about our experience and to explain his process on his amazing chicken dish he prepared! A+ performance!
Thank you! Looking forward to serving you again :)
Never disappointed in a meal at the Waterside. This lunch was with family for a holiday visit. The brunch menu is limited, but the chilaquiles were excellent.
The food was tasty but it was cold. They were not that busy so there is no reason for cold food. Try eating crab eggs Benedict cold. I would have sent it back but was afraid it would take too long to get service from a wait person.
Delicious food, outstanding service and the waitress even gave me a soda water and bitters when she heard about my acid reflux.
Nice restaurant on harbor. Went to watch boat Christmas light parade; only complaint is we were unaware the menu was limited due to the special event; didn’t see that posted anywhere but we could have missed it. Even limited menu items pretty good.
Great California cuisine with a Mediterranean flair. Great service and drinks in addition to the tasty food. And it’s right on the water.
The waitress was wonderful, she has waited on us in the past. Food was much better this time around although I still feel a better variety of veggies should be included in the veggie scramble.
