Food was very good. Service was good. Noise level was horrible. Could not even hold a conversation and we all left with headaches!
Great service as usual and yummy food.
We came to hear the band, ‘Coconuts’.
They are delightful. We try to come whenever they perform.
We dined on the patio with our dog (had been evacuated from our home from the Saddleridge fire). The live music was outstanding. The food and service was great. It made an otherwise stressful time an wonderful experience.
A few weeks ago we went for brunch and the food and service was good. This time they brought me the wrong dish, I was just getting my dish as my daughter was finishing. Food was under seasoned and the manager says they do that on purpose so people can season their own food. My daughters crab cake had crab shells in it.
We have been eating here for a couple of years and have always loved it. The last couple times the bloody Mary’s have just been “ok” where they used to be amazing. The garnishes are getting skimpy and the flavor is just ok. I usually get the veggie scramble and last time it included just onion and zucchini and this past weekend it was just had red and green bell peppers, for the price there should be a variety of fresh veggies. I ordered a side of sour dough toast which was barely toasted and the packaged jelly packs were bottom of the barrel. It would be great if they could get back to the little details that make a big difference.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday with 8 of our friends. Everyone ordered different entree’s. There was no sound at our table once the food was presented. There was no food left on plates and my impression was that every bite was delicious. I know my salmon crusted filet was perfect! We will be back!!!
Happy Hour on a Friday night was fun sitting outdoors at Waterside. The band was fun. They have a nice happy hour Menu, try the Riblets. Our only complaint was that they didn’t have enough staff for the patio full of diners. However, our Server was delightful and very accommodating. All in all it was a great evening with friends.
Fun location, yummy cocktail and Beet salad and steak tacos!
The Waterside Restaurant is a lovely place to have brunch, as we did. Unfortunately, restaurants with a great view, ambiance, often don't pay as much attention to the food. My Veggie Benedict, was delivered with eggs that were hard (not runny like they should be) and unripe avocado. The presentation was lovely, but the traits of a really good Benedict were not there. My aunt's salad lacked any dressing. She is a light eater, so she enjoyed the shrimp that she added on, and the fresh berries, but the mixed greens weren't even dressed. That was odd. Our friend had the burger and said it was very good. A nice restaurant by the harbor, but could definitely be more attentive in the food department.
The service at this restaurant is spotty. It ranges from terrible to good, depending on the server and who's working at the time. I dine regularly when my friend is playing and I go specifically to see her play. I always make a reservation through Open Table. On my most recent visit I reserved a table and requested to be seated in front, near the band. When the hostess offered to sit me in the rear of the patio, I opted to sit with a friend who was already seated. This friend was told she had to give up her table before the band was finished. When I stated I had a reservation, I was offered to be "re-seated" but she was not. I found this treatment TERRIBLE. I paid my bill. My friend left and I was invited (by the band) to sit at the band's table. Customer service needs an overhaul here...
Hi Mona, Sorry that you had to experience that. We tried to make it work by letting your friend know that we would need that specific area by a certain time. Sorry about the inconvenience but as you may have noticed Sundays are really busy and we need to use tables at maximum capacity. Thank you for reviewing us and thank you for your understanding. Tony
Very good food and atmosphere. Menu a bit limited
The staff were nice enough but seemed aloof. The food was good. The fruit was uninspired. Everyone does melon and pineapple. For the price, I’d love to see more choices and more inspired food. There’s a farmers market right in the parking lot. What an opportunity to be more farm to table!
Hello MargPatt, Yes, I totally agree with you that we have a gift that we have the farmer's market right next to us. That is why in out new brunch menu coming up soon you will see a lot of new dishes that are related to the relationships we have created with the vendors at the farmer's market. Please stay tuned and come visit us again soon. Thank you for your feedback. Sincerely, Tony
Enjoyed the food. Our service was excellent and everyone on staff seemed to help one another. Enjoyed my favorite band Brian Faith Band Aka Ernie and the Emperors.
Better music!!! The duo was out of tune , and butchered some of my favorite music making digestion challenging.
We had a lovely view next to the window of the ships tied up to the docks, people walking by, music from the patio, etc. It was gorgeous! The food was delicious and brought to the table quickly. I suggest trying the meat and cheese tray as an appetizer. The only thing that the waitresses should be aware of is that if they take a break outside for a smoke, the smell of the cigarettes stays with them and then they check on their tables, we smell it too. Not pleasant.
And no, Alisha Keys was not the customer- she resembles her though. Lol
Great place. Outside music idea is nice but the music was to loud to talk to your table guest
I had asked for outdoor seating on the main patio but found that the music was just too loud! The musicians were wonderful but my friends and I couldn’t hold a conversation. We requested to be moved to the side patio and were accommodated very politely and nicely by the hostess and manager. Thank you so much for your consideration! We could still hear the music and have a lovely conversation. Never disappointed at the Waterside!
The service was VERY SLOW, I was not the waitress but the cook. we had a party of four and one of us got our salad way before the rest of the food was served. we also had to ask for our bill.
Great neighborhood restaurant for outdoor eating and listening to music. Great Happy Hour and close to water so when you eat outside, you have a view of the harbor.
The baby back riblets were awesome. The new expanded patio has a great view of the harbor.
Great atmosphere. Lovely menu and dog friendly patio
I did not know that happy hour was available and we were able to receive Happy Hour prices and menu so that was nice
Everything was good except one order was not ready until the rest of us finished eating.
I would recommend in the Hope's that our last visit was a fluke. Been there many times and have never had service this bad before. We arrived after having already made a reservation. I checked us in but we were seated 10 - 15 minutes later and only after my husband inquired about the delay. My Grandmother received her lunch and was 3/4 of the way finished when the other 3 meals were finally received 10 minutes later. Overall we were very disappointed in this visit.
Service was extremely slow. Restaurant never offered anything for the delay. Food was bland and mediocre. Nice views for drinks outside, but go somewhere else for dining.
Hi DCdiner, I am sorry if you experienced some delays in a busy Saturday night. Please find a moment to reach out so we can discuss your experience together. I would like to make this right. You can reach me at info@watersidechannelislands or 805.985.4677. Thank you, Tony
Wonderful Enjoyable Evening!!!
Food was superb and service outstanding
Thank you for wonderful experience.
Service, food, and music are great!
Everything was great, food, service, live music. Only suggestion please expand the dinner menu just a little.
An unknown gem along the harbor. Waterside makes its own entrees and desserts. Service is excellent, restaurant is clean, ambiance is perfect, and there are quiet tables for conversation.
Great Sunday brunch and the specials are really good. I had the Waterside Frittata a must! Always great music outside area with a glass breaker wall and umbrellas. The inside is very nice as well. The staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs. Shout out to Karen and Bill who play there once in awhile and they are worth seeing. Karen has a beautiful voice and Bill is a remarkable guitar player.
We ordered Clam Chowder and Fish & Chips which took way to long to be served. The chowder, which they claimed was award winning, is the consistency of soup with few clams or potatos but plenty of salt. The fish was so greasy the residual oil literally dripped off of my fingers and made it inedible. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Great friendly service. We enjoyed the food and reasonably priced for the area.
Great food! From appetizers to desserts. Wonderful service! Amazing drinks!
We were there for lunch at 12:00pm and were the only customers there. It felt awkward and we were seated out on the patio because we asked for a water view. It was quiet and pleasant with a view of s very sleepy marina but slightly chilly and I asked for a heater to be turned on. It quickly got too warm so we asked to turn it off after a bit. The server accommodated but seemed slightly annoyed. A few other people arrived and when I went inside to use the restroom, I noticed other tables were served bread and butter. We weren’t. The food was very good, however, hence the 4 star rating. Not sure we would go back, though.
Excellent ambiance and great entertainment
Loved the ambiance for our patio brunch! Live music was a nice addition to the harbor views. We made a reservation and included a few special requests and all were executed flawlessly. It was a birthday celebration and their service and the cuisine was wonderful. Loved the birthday treat (no embarrassing singing, thankfully!) too! We definitely recommend Waterside for a Sunday brunch on their patio.
Went here on Easter. Food was great (Prime rib, chicken, salmon). Got seated quickly ans service was fast. This was our first time trying Waterside, but will go back.
Overall we enjoyed the food and value of the menu selections .Having made a reservation way in advance it was a bit disappointing that our table was right next to the buffet tables which was in a very tight spot.
Third time there in a month. Great band playing and lots of dancing. Good food and service once again.
