The Water Club Ratings and Reviews
Every part of our meal was a surprise in the devotion to service and kindness went into our meal. Each course including a wellington appetizer, fabulous monk fish, lovely wine selection and table side flambe dessert reminded us of service and sheer enjoyment of a few years ago. There was a gifted pianist!
The view of the waterfront is memorable and no where else,
Thanks Water Club!
It was a lovely experience. The ambiance, in particular, was wonderful. We had a lovely table with a view of the water. My friend had the sea bass which she said was excellent. I had pan-seared chicken that was a bit dry for my taste. All-in-all it was an extremely pleasant evening: attentive servers, piano music and good food. The complimentary valet parking was also a plus!
We have been to the Water Club many times, and we chose it for my wife's significant birthday. I ordered a cake in advance. What a disappointing experience we had! First, the server did not tell us about all the specials. We heard the server at the next table describe the soup of the day, but it was too late, or so we thought. Actually, we waited one hour for our food, filling up on the delicious cornbread and scones. My son's steak au poivre came without the sauce. He was given mashed potatoes even though he had told the server about his dairy allergy. Most important, my wife did not like the dish she ordered: scallops and lobster ravioli. There were three scallops, each about the size of a quarter, breaded, and she complained to an attendant that they were excessively salty. The three ravioli were extremely tough, more like dumplings. Our original server never came around to ask how everything was. Nothing was done to compensate for my wife's dissatisfaction with her dish. The cake was presented elegantly and the piano music was nice. Beautiful view up the East River. Too bad the occasion was spoiled by inattentive service.
We had to try the The Water Club because a friend and biz partner was in town and none of us had ever tried it! The view is awesome, the ambiance high-end, yet comfortable and would be a great place for dates and celebrations. The piano player and attentive staff brought this dining and relaxing evening full circle for us. Favorites of the night were the beef Wellington app and the seafood raviolo and the sourdough bread.. We will return!
Another wonderful evening thanks to one of the best waiters/floor managers in the restaurant business... Zee always treats us with the utmost care and we always have a wonderful dining experience.. the food again is exceptional, from the filet mignon to the monkfish... thanks again to everyone at the water club for another lovely evening
I like it for special occasions. It's beautiful, comfortable, great ambiance, and great service.
It's a typical special night out and it's romantic. The food is very good, but it's not
special. I like the bread basket variety. I love the grilled asparagus. I liked the seafood
salad appetizer. The grilled tuna was tasty but I hated the sauce. The grilled branzino was
ok, but I've had much better at our local Greek restaurant. Creme brulee for dessert was OK, not nothing special. So, you don't go for the food experience. You go for the ambiance.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. We have been here for Valentine’s Day before and I had been craving their lobster ravioli for the longest. We ordered a lot of food. I had to take some of it home but I do not regret it at all. When they brought out the desserts, they had a little firecracker candle and it was literally the highlight of the night. So glad we went to celebrate here. Thank you to the staff for being so considerate even though we came 30 minutes before closing.
I enjoyed the water club however, I appreciated the offerings during restaurant week more than I did for the regular menu. The service is always fantastic. I have the pasta with crab meat the crab meat was sufficient but I thought the sauce was missing something. I was disappointed because it tastes like a dish I could've had at Eataly.
Aside from that, the views are fantastic as is the service.
Another wonderful night thanks to our great duo of Charles and Armando! The food again was top notch from the filet mignon to the lamb chops and the smoked salmon.... our favorite restaurant and it's better now more than ever! Thanks also to the great wait staff (our bussers were the best) go as soon as you can.... beautiful tranquil setting and wonderful piano player on top of everything!
I needed a great evening out after a long week. I was lucky enough to get my own table outside by the water. The food came out perfectly timed as soon as I took my last bite of the prior dish. The service was above and beyond. The staff wasn't invasive and my glass was always filled. I'd recommend The Water Club for any and all occasions. 5 Stars.
Last night my mother & I attended The Water Club for the last day of NYC Restaurant Week. We had such a great & fun experience! I set reservations for my mother and I as her pre-birthday celebration. She's been wanting to come to this restaurant for as long as I could remember; I thought why not take her during NYC Restaurant Week! We started with a nice strong glass of Rosé, for our appetizers we had the Sweet Pea Hummus & Roasted Beets (DELICIOUS), for our entree I had a Grilled Hanger Steak & my mother had the Pan Roasted Dorade, & for dessert I had the Strawberry Shortcake & my mother had the Coconut Panna Cotta. Everything was delicious!! The ambiance was lovely, definitely a great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, or on a date. Definitely coming back to try more of this delicious menu.
Went here for restaurant week and had an excellent time. I recommend getting a table by the window if you can. I also recommend checking out the upstairs/outside deck for a night cap or 3. Be careful of your drinks and personal belongings close to the edge on the outside deck. We saw someone's fresh drink go overboard. Also, be sure to tip Sweetie in the women's restroom.
I loved everything about this restaurant! Wonderful food and ambiance- definitely a more classic and old school place. Highly recommend for a nice date or a special occasion. Everything was delicious- especially the scallops were probably the best I ever had. Beautiful view of the east river and some city buildings. Will definitely return!
