The drinks, appetizer, and dessert were amazing. We ordered the lamb and steak. Both meals were over done when we ordered them medium rare. The chef burnt the meat both times sent back.
BUT! Our server, waitress, hostess, and general manager were so incredibly friendly that we will visit again. Great ambiance.

The food was delicious! The food coming out of the kitchen was slow but once it arrived it was worth the wait. Great spot to dine before seeing a show at the Sellersville Theatre. We all enjoyed our cocktails, appetizers and dinner. This was my first visit here and would go back!

4 of us had dinner before seeing a show next door. Our food was delicious - service very good and we enjoyed a nice, relaxing time before heading to the show. Great wine list and beer choices as well as specialty cocktails to choose from. Dessert and coffee list are also good

We always enjoy the Washington House. The food is good and the atmosphere is awesome.
We understand that some diners are going to the show after dinner and need to be finished eating at a certain time but this shouldn't be at the inconvenience of diners not attending the show. We recently arrived for a 4:30 reservation and were asked if we were going to the show after dinner. We were not but did have a 6:00 appointment elsewhere. Our entrees were served at 5:40 causing us to postpone our meeting. We do understand that people need to make their showtimes but believe the Washington House should be staffed enough to handle all of their diners.

Meals were outstanding and service was good until it took 30 minutes to get dessert. We did get to the show at The Sellersville Theater in time, next door, but it was cutting close.

The food was exquisite! I've never tasted anything so wonderful. I had the pan seared duck breast (have never had duck before) and the sweet potato/parsnip puree and pear reisling sauce with it was absolutely delicious. My husband and I had a superb time there.

Lovely new find of ours. I had a special night planned for my husbands birthday and found this place online. We stayed the night and also had dinner. The room was spotless and very well appointed. The dinner, including service, was wonderful. Our waitress was very sweet and we loved the historic building from top to bottom. We'll definitely be back...

The decor is authentic Victorian, and I have always enjoyed the atmosphere here. Service is always pleasant and professional. The food on my last visit was a different story! Granted it was Halloween night, not the busiest, but there is no excuse for the poor meals we were served. Where was a manager or owner, or someone to check on what was leaving the kitchen. The calamari was soggy and the presentation even worse.....both of our meals were bland and poorly seasoned. Even dessert, a Lindzer torte, was dry and tasteless. Maybe it was an off night, but I will not be returning for dinner any time soon. Find a new chef, and soon!!!

Everything was very nice. I guess it was just really busy on the Friday night we went because the service was a bit on the slow side. No problems or mistakes... just a little on the slow side. That might also be a good sign to show how well liked the place is. Will definitely be going back.

The Building Is old and cool to see.
Has a nice Bar area plus outdoor seating.
Food was ok, small portions for the price.
I got the wiener schnitzel with Spatzle, the veal was over cooked and burnt, and the spatzle was fried in a pan which dried them out. best part was the red cabbage. lol
The other meal was the Lamb Ribs, that meal was ok and cooked well but again small portions.
The have a big beer list and wine, so for drinks i would recommend it.

I live in the same town, and have seen what the old historic land-mark "Washington House" has become over the past 30 years, from having deteriorated under former ownership to the point of "near the wrecking-ball" to it's current fine-dining /bed & breakfast celebrity status. I was just there Oct. 17 evening for their annual Oktoberfest buffet, being PA German myself, it is something I try to never miss 1. because of the value ( 28.00 for adults incl. coffee & desert 2. because of the array of authentic & perfectly prepared German foods from salads to salmon, weinerschnitzel to Sauerbraten and red cabbage and much in between 3. because of he huge array of beer choices, craft, domestic & imported and 4. the ambiance. Parking is a little tough sometimes, and the biggest issue for me is that regular dinners can become expensive (for my personal budget) because most everything is ala carte. The food and service though are typically always excellent.

Was actually disappointed from the start. We were out at a table right next to the main door. Most of the night my wife and I could even hear each other talk. Our waitress was very nice, the appetizers were the best of the night. Dinner was just average, expected better flavor and prep for the $. We ordered our food at 6:40, dinner came out at 7:50. That is way to long to wait for a meal. Was out 1st time there and most likely our last.

We are long time patrons of the Washington House. Usually we have dinner there before attending a concert at the adjacent Sellersville Theater, which is what we did on this occasion. We had a 6 pm seating. The server inquired at the outset if we were going to the concert scheduled for 7:30. Service early on was fine but by 7 pm we still had not received our entrees. The manager intervened, and we were finally served around 7:10 pm, with apologies but no explanation. Our drinks were comped, which we appreciated, but we were unable to finish our meal. We have always liked Washington House, and plan to have dinner there again in the future. We consider this situation to be an anomaly.

This is a lovely, grand hotel with dining room reminiscent of the old European hotels. We had a wonderful evening at dinner. The staff was very pleasant. The room was very comfortable. The hotel was recently renovated so it presented old-time grandeur in style. I would return to have another wonderful visit. Don't hesitate to stay at this hotel. You won't be disappointed.

Our party of 4 arrived 20 minutes late due to traffic out of Philly and we were worried about making the start of the show. But our waitress understood and kept everything under control and we were able to get to the theater in time. And we even had dessert!
As for the food, there were no complaints from any of us. My salmon was a smallish portion but prepared perfectly. An edamame appetizer was prepared with a flavoring that was surprising but quite tasty. Two had filets and they said they were amazingly tender and flavorful. Desserts were fantastic, not too small either, and well worth the risk of not getting to the show in time!
We were seated in a round booth just inside the door, and although I was initially not looking forward to the location, it turned out just fine. It was a busy night for a Tuesday and the noise level wasn't as quiet as expected, but never obtrusive or a bother. If you want a quieter or more romantic setting, ask to be seated away from the door and kitchen. The overall ambience had a traditional/historic tavern feel but without the kitschy or neighborhood pub grunge. A little upscale but not snooty -- a good balance of comfort and elegance. Same for the cuisine -- nice approachable dishes prepared with just enough elan and originality to make them special.
The menu didn't have a ton of options but there was no problem finding choices for any of us. Specialty drinks were few but yummy. Specialty beers covered a broad spectrum of styles. And the wine list looked well rounded with lots of mid range choices. I personally liked the single malt options and will get there early next time so we can enjoy some of them!
All in all, a very enjoyable dinner even with some anxiety about timing. I'd say it would be soooo much better if you can take your time and savor the courses and special offerings.

We live about 45 minutes away from Washington House but go for dinner a few times a year. We had my 19-year-old niece and her boyfriend visiting us this past weekend and needed a quality place for dinner on a Sunday night so we chose Washington House. They raved several times about the meal. Service by Rachael was excellent.

Generally speaking we have had great meals with great service here, but we have had this same waitress on 2 recent occassions, and she is terrible for a restaurant of this caliber. We frequent the theatre next door often, and always eat at the Washington House before the concerts. Normally I would give everything 4 or 5 stars, but Roseann's service was between a 2 and 3.
