My boyfriend and I are both in the restaraunt biz and were pleasantly surprised by what a spectacular experience Washington house was from start to finish. We cant wait to go back!
As always we weren't disappointed.
Wonderful, tasty dinner and excellent wine!
Special prix fixe Valentine brunch. Wonderful! I had the eggs benedict which was delicious. The other 3 guests in my party has the quiche which they all loved. Very calm, restful meal. Excellent service as always. We left satisfied, smiling and already planning for next year's brunch. Great job, Washington House!
We had a lovely Valentine brunch, however my French toast was burned on the bottom. My husband had the steak and he enjoyed it very much. We love going to the Washington House for dinners and for the shows next door. The service was very friendly and attentive. We will go back there again.
Stayed at B&B in nearby town. Found by accident really. The Washington House has long history that owners are clearly proud of. It is next to a venue that has varied shows that bring people to the area. We arrived as the pre-show rush was clearing. Seated immediately in a dining area away from a busy and happy bar area where there are also some table for diners. The service was attentive and the menu varied. The wine list was different from most restauruants. My wife has celiac disease and the staff was prepared to assist us when we arrived with menu suggestions. First class dining at surprisingly moderate price. Menu had a farm-to-table feel. It was certainly worth a little ride.
This is one of the most consistently great restaurants around. Sellersville should be proud!
We've been here a few times when attending a show at the theater next door. Menu is nice but the food is only average at best. A bit high priced for what you get but the ambiance is nice and dining choices in the area are limited. Staff is friendly and attentive. On a cold night, it gets very cold near the entrance/bar from frequent door openings. Maybe they should consider modifying the entryway.
I have been there many times and had no complaints until this last time. We were there in a group of 6. We ordered sandwiches with vegetable side dishes, no appetizers, and it took 1 hr+ to get our food! We were there in plenty of time (I thought) so we could go to the music performance next door (reservation was for 6:30pm and the show started @ 8pm.
Every year on Mardi Gras, The Washington House offers a special menu for the evening (while still offering the regular menu for those who prefer their food less spicy than traditional Mardi Gras fare). One of the specialities that I look forward to each year is their Jambalaya. This year was no different with a wonderfully spicy mixture featuring shrimp and andouille sausage. Delicious! And a large portion to boot! Half my entry went home with me for another meal. I usually have the cajun clams on this evening, but this year they offered crawfish "egg" rolls that were exquisite. They were served with a spicy, very flavorful, dipping sauce. Fun Mardi Gras necklaces were provided for additional atmosphere. A+.
I have dined at The Washington House several times in the past 5 years and EVERYTIME I have had a meal there it has been absolutely incredible. I have never had a bad meal and the service is very friendly and very professional. I HIGHLY recommend The Washington House to anyone who enjoys a fantastic meal and great ambiance. Thank you so very much for making my evening so pleasant.
A very enjoyable evening prior to the show.
Had a wonderful time, going back next month and taking more people with us
We were there for brunch on Sunday. The food was great, waitress was wonderful. We have been there twice before and everytime it was great. Will return again in the near future.Thank you for a wonderful experience.
There always seems to be a constantly changing menu which is great. Their daily specials are the best. I've been there many times prior to shows at the Sellersville Theater right next door and I've never been disappointed. The servers even make sure they know you are going to the show and they make sure you get out on time.
My girlfriend and I adore this place, it is where we fell in love. And of course we always go next door to see a show at the Sellersville Theater. It really is great place for an exceptional date night!
One of our favorite restaurants! Dishes always have special touches. Roasted european chicken breast dinner was superb! Special thanks for gluten free options, especially the Limoncello creme brulee! Servers are always attentive and sweet.
Took my husband here for his birthday. It was perfect!! Delicious food, friendly service, & intimate atmosphere!! We will definitely come back!
Thank you Washington House for a wonderful evening. Our server was second to none. She was cheerful and helped us with our evenings selection. We had the Scallops and Shrimp dish. We shared the Scallops wrapped in bacon. I wanted something lite for the end of my meal so I asked if I could have fruit cup with sherbit. No Problem. Out it came and it was the finish to the meal that I was looking for. After our dinner we went to the show at the dinner theater. The evening was now complete and we will be back.
Thank you again Washington House for a splended evening.
Thanks so much for yet another amazing night at the Washington House. My husband and I are making this a tradition to celebrate our wedding anniversary from now on! The food is outstanding and cooked to perfection. There is little time to wait in anticipating a hearty cooked meal as well. As we sipped our wine and enjoyed the old-fashioned, couture ambience that the Washington House provides, our meal came swiftly since we had a show to attend at the Sellersville Theater right next door. If you're ever looking for a night that provides dinner & a show, consider the Washington House before attending an amazing musical night at the Sellersville Theater. :)
We have a wonderful dinner at The Washington House. The service was top notch and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back soon.
We usually eat here before a show at the Sellersville Theater. The food is consistently good and they are typically sensitive to people needing to get in and out to see a show. This time though we waited about twenty minutes before anyone took our drink order, which was interesting because at the time we were one of three two tops seated. Our server was nice, but a little too familiar. All of the courses were delivered in a timely fashion, but most of our time was spent waiting on the server either to take our order, refill beverages or bring back our check. The only other issue I have is the area where you have to wait to be seated is literally next to the entrance door, which is a tight squeeze if there are more than two.
The restaurant was fabulous & the staff could not have been nicer or more efficient, however the dinner I ordered even though it tasted great caused quite a gastrointestinal event that is just now starting to settle. [Dinner was Feb 2nd-today is Feb 4th] So, having the strong constitution that I have, I would be hesitant to dine there again.
Three of us in our party would have loved a Coors Light or Dos Equis lager draft at the restaurant & the theatre so maybe that will be an option in the future? I would definitely vistit the restaurant again, but only for drinks.
They food was good as usual. I had the braised pork shank was cooked perfectly. I thought that the sauce could have been a little bolder, but it was tasty. I was primarily there though for the beer tasting. Sampled beers from the Great Divide brewery. All of the beers were great, but the stout was best of all.
We are frequent visitors, often going before a show. Always great food, service and a decent beer menu.
Had a great time. We just had sandwiches because we were going to a show at the Sellersville theater. Great atmosphere . I would recommend it to a friend
Always a wonderful meal! And take in a show while your there at the adjacent Sellersville Theater.
As always, the Washington House knocked it out of the park. The crab bisque was creamy, buttery and incredibly delicious. The petite filet mignon was prepared exactly as I had requested and was tender, delicious and the perfect size! My husband had the pork chops with mushroom risotto and he loved it. We unfortunately were too full for dessert. The service was impeccable and once again we were treated like old friends and enjoyed chatting with the friendly staff.
Food and service was excellent. This is an old house converted to a restaurant a long time ago and every dinning room is decorated differently. It is very beautiful.
It was a grey place to eat before going to a concert next door. The service was exceptional and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
We have been dining at the Washington House for quite a number of years. Although it is not a "local" restaurant, we still find the time to travel to Sellersville a few times a year. The Washington House has never disappointed us in their service or quality of food. According to my wife, the bay scallop and shrimp risotto was excellent while my peasant pork meatball with cabbage and broad noodles was good but the meatballs themselves seemed to lack flavor. The sauce was very nice however. I never heard of peasant pork meatballs before so I thought that I would try it. To my taste it could use some tuning up. The limon creme bulee was delightful.
We enjoyed a special evening. The menu offered a variety of tempting salad & entree
I don't frequent the Washington House often, however when I do I'm never disappointed. Food is always fantastic and service excellent. Was very pleased and had a great experience!
Our first time here. We decided to come here before a show at the theater. What a great place to dine.
Never had been disapointed by the food. Always good and nice presentation on plate.
Visited the Washington House before a show at the Sellersville Theater...very convenient.
Salads were well designed, entrees were ample and very tasty (chicken/ crab), desserts excellent (lemon/ apple crisp). Fine dining in a casual atmosphere. Can't beat it for a dinner/show combination. Service was very attentative and timely.
This is our local "go to" spot. Good drinks- nice beer selection. The dinner specials are seasonal and tasty. Waitstaff is laid back and personable. We try to avoid going in too early - as to not get caught in the mad scramble to get people out before showtime at the adjoining Sellersville Theatre.
Great spot esecially if you're going to the show next door and even if you're not. Bad thing was very loud dining room - one table in particular was ear splitting loud with one woman's laugh very annoying.
Great food and service in a beautiful historic building. The bar old bar alone is worth the trip. Add that to the fact that the Sellersville Theater is right next door and you have a recipe for a delightful evening out filled with outstanding food and entertainment.
Went in order to take advantage of the gift certificates we received from the restaurant when we dined there in December. Our appetizers included the House cured bacon, scallops and petit filet plates. Main courses: pork chop special, veal skirt steak, Salmon Po'boys, Shrimp topped casear salad. Finished with a few shared tastes of créme brulée and bread pudding and coffee.
Staff was attentive, knew the menu and did not miss a step.
Argentinian mints on the way out are a nice touch.
Always love it there and was not disappointed this time! Their Christmas special with surprise gift cards made it even more fun!
