The Washington House - Pennsylvania Ratings and Reviews
The food and atmosphere were excellent. The waitress very sweet they not sure if there was not enough staff or the waitress was a little overwhelmed. The dining room was full. The group that I was with all enjoyed the experience and would definitely
We have eaten here numerous times and this was the first bad experience. The restaurant was very busy on a Friday night before what appeared to be a sold out show at the Sellersville Theater next door. Service was slow. Food took a long time to arrive and was not hot. Neither of our entrees were up to standard. Ordered a second beer that never arrived. We did see managers on the floor which was good to help the situation. We noticed that the other diners in the area we we're seated in had a similar experience to us. Maybe a bad night for the staff and restaurant. We will eat here again but will probably try someplace different before the next show we go to see.
We've been to the Washington House many times but our visit on Dec. 1st was very poor.
It appeared the restaurant was understaffed for such a busy night. Our food took a long time to come out and we were going next door for a show. We then had to gobble down our dinner. Both my son's and my beef were overdone. My son was suppose to have french fries but they never came out. I was suppose to have asparagus but instead received green beans. This is not the type of service we've had in the past. Very disappointing.
The bar and wait staff are always very nice. Bummer it is was my third visit where a beef item was completely overcooked. So $11 for a dry burger with potato chips. I also wish they would take away just a few bar stools because bar seating is super tight. That being said, it is a fine Sellersville Theater pre-show dinner option and if you speak up they will try to solve any meal issues.
Service was very good. I had the salmon poboy, and I think they changed the roll they were using, and I much prefer this one. It is softer and easier to handle. The blackened salmon was very good. also had the pumpkin cheesecake. it was lighter than I expected. Nice dessert.
We had dinner at the Washington House and went to the Almost Queen Show at 9:00.
The food was very good. I had the Cajun scallops and shrimp, very tasty. My wife had a burger that was slightly over cooked by still very tasty. The drink in this place are outstanding, the atmosphere terrific and the service outstanding. We try to get there at least once a month and enjoy it ever time. Dinner and a show we will do again.
The drinks, appetizer, and dessert were amazing. We ordered the lamb and steak. Both meals were over done when we ordered them medium rare. The chef burnt the meat both times sent back.
BUT! Our server, waitress, hostess, and general manager were so incredibly friendly that we will visit again. Great ambiance.
The food was delicious! The food coming out of the kitchen was slow but once it arrived it was worth the wait. Great spot to dine before seeing a show at the Sellersville Theatre. We all enjoyed our cocktails, appetizers and dinner. This was my first visit here and would go back!
4 of us had dinner before seeing a show next door. Our food was delicious - service very good and we enjoyed a nice, relaxing time before heading to the show. Great wine list and beer choices as well as specialty cocktails to choose from. Dessert and coffee list are also good
We always enjoy the Washington House. The food is good and the atmosphere is awesome.
We understand that some diners are going to the show after dinner and need to be finished eating at a certain time but this shouldn't be at the inconvenience of diners not attending the show. We recently arrived for a 4:30 reservation and were asked if we were going to the show after dinner. We were not but did have a 6:00 appointment elsewhere. Our entrees were served at 5:40 causing us to postpone our meeting. We do understand that people need to make their showtimes but believe the Washington House should be staffed enough to handle all of their diners.
We made reservations for an early dinner as we were seeing a show at 6pm.We got there early and were seated right away. The wait was short to be served and Colleen was a fantastic server. We loved the food! The Pecan crusted trout was awesome,as was the pumpkin cheesecake. We make the trip to see shows a few times a year.I believe we will return.
The food was exquisite! I've never tasted anything so wonderful. I had the pan seared duck breast (have never had duck before) and the sweet potato/parsnip puree and pear reisling sauce with it was absolutely delicious. My husband and I had a superb time there.
Lovely new find of ours. I had a special night planned for my husbands birthday and found this place online. We stayed the night and also had dinner. The room was spotless and very well appointed. The dinner, including service, was wonderful. Our waitress was very sweet and we loved the historic building from top to bottom. We'll definitely be back...
The decor is authentic Victorian, and I have always enjoyed the atmosphere here. Service is always pleasant and professional. The food on my last visit was a different story! Granted it was Halloween night, not the busiest, but there is no excuse for the poor meals we were served. Where was a manager or owner, or someone to check on what was leaving the kitchen. The calamari was soggy and the presentation even worse.....both of our meals were bland and poorly seasoned. Even dessert, a Lindzer torte, was dry and tasteless. Maybe it was an off night, but I will not be returning for dinner any time soon. Find a new chef, and soon!!!
Everything was very nice. I guess it was just really busy on the Friday night we went because the service was a bit on the slow side. No problems or mistakes... just a little on the slow side. That might also be a good sign to show how well liked the place is. Will definitely be going back.
