Each time we visit Fairhope/Point Clear we make sure we make reservations for the WashHouse. Each visit has been delightful. The food is always delicious, service impeccable and ambiance congenial. We’ve ordered the crab cakes, triple tail, chateaubriand and the key lime bread pudding multiple times and these items have never disappointed! It is definitely worth a visit. You will not be disappointed!!
Food was very good service was excellent a little too much noise by nearby group,
but overal quite good !
Enjoyed excellent food and would recommend
Suggest a wider range of the menu.
Not enough fish selections for a coastal community.
It was a wonderful dining experience. The food was amazing and the service was amazing . Our waitress was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, definitely worth the trip
The server we had did his best but they were obviously understaffed so we didn’t receive good attention during the meal. Even the owner/manager was having to help get drink orders and bus the table.
I guess, due to the lack of service, the food was not hot (gumbo, fresh catch, shrimp stack, etc). This resulted in a fair experience at best considering an almost $100/person cost.
I’m unable to recommend.
Wonderful. Outstanding food, great service and atmosphere. A wonderful experience. Will be back each time down. Love it
Casual elegance with southern hospitality. Top notch chef.
We had a very pleasant birthday dinner for the two of us! Coleen was our waitress and she was GREAT! Very polite, educated about the food and provided excellent service! Also food was AMAZING! We both left full and happy! We certainly will be back!
Two of us ordered the redfish special which was excellent. One of us ordered shrimp and grits which was also very good. However, one diner ordered the $40 filet which was not at all tender and the steak was spiced too much for her taste which masked the beef flavor. Over half the filet was uneaten. My advice is stick to seafood dishes. Service was very attentive and professional.
The Food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor as it complimented the outstanding service provided. Thank you Wash House for a memorable night. You guys were Amazing 😊.
We ate at The Wash House three nights in a row. It is great! Paige was a wonderful server and bartender. She makes the best French 75.
I made reservations at the Wash House for 5PM on Friday night for me and my BFF to go out for a well-deserved gourmet dinner. As soon as we were seated, our drink orders were taken. I had a very good Manhattan. Then we ordered starters. My BFF ordered the Wash House salad that she said was very good, and I skipped salad and ordered the Green Tomato Stack. It was a meal in itself, and it was sooooo yummy. For our entrees, she ordered the shrimp and grits. I tasted it. It was devine, maybe what I'll get next trip. I ordered the fish of the day. It was grilled swordfish with a sauce. I have never tried swordfish before. Let me tell you, it was so delicious. I practically licked my plate. For dessert we split the Godiva pecan pie. It was good, not delicious. Should have ordered the key lime bread pudding. Then we enjoyed coffee and Kalua while we sat and enjoyed our visit. I did not feel rushed. Our waitress, Victoria, was very attentive, but not overly bothersome. Can't wait to go back to The Wash House!
Best restaurant around!
Food was very good - the shrimp and grits especially. The gumbo I ordered tasted amazing but was not piping hot - it was warm which to me soup should be hot. The service was great but they sat us by the hostess desk so I felt like we were in display for all who walked by. If you make reservations in advance ask to not be put on this alley. Overall delicious food and nice atmosphere
Highly recommended!!! Great atmosphere and the food is fabulous!
Food and service was awesome. Only complaint was parking.
The Wash House is a lovely dining experience. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the service was outstanding.
Had a reservation. Put us right by the door. Asked for a different location as there were many open tables and told this was all they had… left and went to Gambino’s for a great Italian dinner.
Consistency is important and the Wash House is just that. Always great food with local sourced dishes, great friendly service in great atmosphere.
Everything was great. Food was superb.
We have heard fantastic reviews of this place for a long time, so we decided to go for my wife's birthday. We made a reservation online. The service was great from beginning to end. We had the Shrimp Stack appetizer, which I thought could use more sauce/seasoning, but it was good. The catch of the day (Redfish) was very good. The shrimp and grits were maybe a bit above average, but overall the prices are high for the quality of food. The exception was the key lime bread pudding, which was the highlight of the meal, in my opinion.
Everything was wonderful with the exception of the bread before our meal. It was terrible. Old and cold. We asked for another bread and to our amazement it was just as bad
We had a spectacular dinner. The food was perfection, the service was great and unobtrusive, and the atmosphere was superb. Go there with someone special and dinner will not disappoint.
Delicious food snd great service. Love online reservations through Open Table app
Excellent service. Delicious food. Wonderful atmosphere A little pricey
Wonderful place to dine. Service a bit slower than normal due to staffing shortages but overall a great place.
Excellent food, bottom of the barrel service
When we were told we could wait for our table at the bar, we assumed we could also order a drink; but no one offered to serve us until the hostess came to take us to our table (about 10 minutes). Someone brought us water and said the waitress would be with us shortly. When the waitress arrived and asked what she could get for us, I asked for lemons for our water and told her what I would like to drink. My husband was still deciding on his drink, so she said she would get the lemons and be right back. She came back alright, but she didn't even look at us when she dropped the lemons at the table. She went straight to another table, where they were finishing up, and she chatted with them for a good 10 minutes. When we had finished our water and she finally returned, we made sure to order our wine, appetizers and entrees all at once. Good thing we did. Service was not about to improve. My husband tried to ask for Tabasco Sauce for his gumbo, but she couldn't have put the bowl down and walked away any faster if someone was chasing her. The manager was circling the restaurant, but he would only look our way and then look elsewhere. When I finally caught his eye, he stopped at our table. We made a point of telling him that the food was excellent, but service was really poor. He said little more than "I'm sorry. I hope we do better next time." I ordered a slice of the delicious chocolate pecan pie for dessert but, as soon as I put the last bite in my mouth, our waitress dropped off the check. Good way to leave a bad taste in your mouth. My husband said, more than once, that if I wasn't with him and if it wasn't our anniversary, he would have left much earlier and put a quarter on the table for the water.
Nice dinner, got specials.
Our first trip to the Wash House to celebrate our 18th anniversary was a delight. Everything was perfect—the ambiance, the food and the charming service from Becca.
Wonderful dinner at the Wash House. food was delicious and service was great!
We split the Chateau Briand and it was a hood amount and very good. House salad was very good as was the cheesecake. Nice experience.
Visit to Point Clear
The food was delicious and prepared to perfection. Service was excellent and our water glasses never dropped below half full.
Probably not the best choice for small kids, at least not my small people. Ha!
Amazing food and amazing service! Paige was our server and went above and beyond!
