I love the Walnut Room! The chicken salad and Franco cheesecake were outstanding! Our server was so pleasant and efficient!! A five-star experience........but........... no one was there! A total of maybe 3 tables of people who ate and then we were totally alone at 1:30 on a Wed.
So sad...........I do hope the restaurant stays open. Ruthie Hornaday
The ambiance and experience was just as I remembered! Before Covid my family and I would go to the Walnut room around Christmas time every year! I’m so glad it’s back open!
It was a pleasure to spend Mother's Day at such an iconic venue. The service was outstanding and the food was superb.
Went here recently for lunch. Our waiter was one of the best we’ve ever had. The food was great, prices were very reasonable. The ambience was classic, of a time gone by error.
We have seen out waiter before, he does a great job. What you could use is some flowers on the tables by the window, you don't have to do them all, just the one's being used. My fish and chips was excellent and was my wife's meal.
The spacing between tables is compliant with social distancing. The staff are following the guidelines. The classic menu is back. The jazz trio was a bit loud, but entertaining. The food was up to their usual standards. The portions are large and rather pricy.
Good food, great service, socially distant, prompt and courteous staff
I didn’t enjoy the experience room to dark, because the room was spaced out the noise level from the musicians was loud .
I expected a brunch, but they had menu service only
Waitress Diane was pleasant and friendly although had problems splitting the check
The live music was phenomenal!
The Lorin Paige Trio 5 stars
Lovely, everything we hoped it would be. The chicken pot pie was wonderful as was the ambiance!
Nostalgic!!! Good great. Service great. Clean. Beautiful
It was a little depressing, there wee hardly any people in that big room. The food was fair, I ordered the meat loaf which I think had been prepaared ahead of time and heated in a microwave oven, at least I think it was /the service was good.
The experience was nice - not what I thought...very casual. Do to COVID-19 the rooms were changed to a “ballroom” setting in the 7th floor for space and seating. Overall, I enjoy the live music.
Mable and our server provided excellent service. It was nice to dine again in the Walnut Room. We missed not being to attend happy hour and Sunday brunch,
The menu choices were limited, severely. The quiche was not of the quality I expected. It was not tasteful. It tasted like scrambled eggs with no seasoning in a pie shell. I know how good the quiche used to taste. The salad was good.
If someone asks me about dining in the Walnut room, I will tell them of my experience.
Everything was outstanding. Hadn't been to the Walnut Room since I was a child. Wonderful value and service was terrific. We paid much higher prices for far less, and you can't ask for a more beautiful setting.
Perfect in every way! Gracious, delicious and beautifully covid safe. Ambiance is lovely, and the room is it's gorgeous self!
Perfect time to enjoy the Walnut Room. Social distance, clean and everyone cheerful.
Excellent!! Very quiet and service was superb. Food was hot and delicious. Desert we always order was mouth watering. Would recommend the Walnut Room to anyone, family's are always welcome.
Great food and great service. Friendly service and staff.
Hostess Mabel and server Curtis were amazing. Nice food portions and very delicious. So glad that the walnut room participated in restaurant week. Very social distanced, clean, and great ambiance
Had the chicken pot pie.. delicious.. coupled it that cheese Hawaiian bread..take some to go or you'll regret it..it was lunchtime great atmosphere.. Mr Curtis our server was a delight..ask for him..great time
Didn't seem to have enough options on the menu
We went for Brunch with the Easter Bunny. I was hoping for more of an Easter ambience but it was just the same place with an Easter Bunny at the front. Very little effort to make it a celebratory environment and the food was just okay. Limited menu with high food and drink prices for just okay food. Positives were our waitress who was very nice, the bunny who was great with children, and the view outside which is always nice.
Great food, good service.
Eggs Benedict served on stale bread with runny egg whites. Yuck! Couldn't eat it
Disappointed to hear that our longtime server Francis has passed away. She had met all of my family including the grandchildren (who ae now in their 20's). A wonderful lady. I shall remember her every time I visit the Walnut Room.
James was a fantastic server. We had a great lunch I just wish they had a few other choices on the menu. Maybe a hamburger or turkey sandwich - it would be nice.
Our visit to the Walnut Room was great and enjoyable!
Elegant, loved being able to have a family-style girls day out.
The windows there are so cool, however, it would be really nice if they were cleaned! Part of the charm of the place is to be able to look outside and enjoy the view.
My service was great and so was all the food.
So much history at the walnut room! The food was wonderful and our waiter was perfect.
The food was excellent and prices reasonable.
I will return again
Despite the pandemic, The Walnut Room did an excellent job in still exuding elegance and charm. The service by Fawn was excellent. We even had a greeting from the manager, Gino. The food was presented beautifully and was amazingly delicious. I can’t believe how reasonably priced the menu is . We use to visit the Walnut Room during Christmas and we brought visitors here today for brunch. Try the mimosa sampler. You’ll drink it all cause they’re that good!
Friendly staff and delicious menu of signature favorites and new offerings too.
Our server was terrific, the food was wonderful. They had spaced the tables way far apart, much more than 6 feet, so I feel very safe. It was so nice to be back in a restaurant after all these months.
Our server was very attentive, the food was good, the lobster bisque was not. Our server said that chef was overwhelmed. The Walnut Room has been around since the beginning of time. The restaurant has just reopened on Wednesday. Our reservation was on Saturday. Of course there was going to be a lot of people. They had just increased the seating capacity to 50%. They should have been better prepared.
It was quiet but service was slow. Food was good. Price was a bit high for the food.
it was great to be able to go back to the Walnut Room. I really enjoyed it and will visit again soon.
We had a lovely time over lunch on Friday! Fawn was a great server, and the food was great, as always. So happy it’s open again!
Nice to have the Walnut Room back opened. It was definitely different due to covid. Sad because it wasn’t decorated much like we are used to when we go for Christmas.
