My family and I enjoyed our time at the view. We had the prix fixe dinner. Though we enjoyed our meals, we paid too much for nonalcoholic drinks. The way the waiter was kind of forcing us to try the drinks I thought they came with the meals. I didn't like his recommended drink at all, while I was trying to get water. I went beyond my budget. Otherwise, I would come back. I had been there before with friends. I thought I would let my family experience it. They were very pleased.
Best place for food with an unreal view over the city amazing atmosphere tasty food so glad we came and celebrated our first wedding anniversary with you
Overall excellent experience and friendly staff. The food was amazing, the drinks were on point and you can’t beat the view of the city while fine dining in NYC.
Service and food were fantastic. Loved the ambiance of the restaurant.
Excellent meal..on vacation from Scotland . Great service ,staff friendly , plenty of variety
Expensive but it's New York
Great location for pre theatre ,views amazing . Portion sizes were good not the usual big American size.
It was nice, but they told us it would be an hour wait for the window view but saw people that came in behind us and they sat them by the window. I don't know if it was a color thing
it was a great evening. The food was excellent and we enyoid the dinner.
Beautiful place with great view. Didn't really care for my main course that was recommended to me.
The View is about what you'd expect from the name. The food takes a backseat to the spectacular scenery as the seating area slowly revolves (it takes about two hours to get back to where you started) to take in a 360 degree of the theater district and midtown. The service was very good and the food - I had a pork chop and my wife had salmon and a very nice cold green gazpacho - was fine without being particularly memorable, but you should be aware that there's no other option to the prix fixe menu which is clearly designed to make sure the restaurant makes its nightly nut. You're paying for the view, and as long as you're okay with that, it's a fun experience. If you're looking for a great dinner there are a lot of better options in the area, most of which will be less expensive.
While this is a pricey place, I will say that it is well worth it for a special occasion. After all, part of the price is for the view. Beside, the service is very attentive and the food is decent. For the appetizer, I will recommend the shrimp cocktail. For the entry, I will recommend the filet mignon, just skip the seafood paella. For the desert, the best choice is the caramel and hazelnut filled profiterole. All the dishes have decent portion size. The three course prix-fixe dinner is more than enough.
Very disappointing. The menu is very limited and the food was fair at best. In NYC, there are many other choices.
Great view. Great food. Little pricey but the portions are large
Unable to get served in the bar area, dinner they seemed to want to rush us out. Food was ok.
It’s a good restaurant to get a scenic view of the city. Food was subpar worse than Applebee’s, except costs 400% more than Applebee’s.
The steak was perfectly cooked and the food was overall good however it feels like the place has overlived its reputation. It's still a nice place to visit for the view but maybe just for drinks...
The food was not great for the price we paid for. Mostly we saw concrete surround the restaurant than the city view.
The service was nice with excellent waiters. The food is good but it does not deserve this expensive price.
The food is fabulous! The view is great, but it doesn’t bode well for motion sickness. Ambiance is ok. Could use some updating. Service was ok. Had to track down our waiter a few times. Overall a fun, one-timer.
It was a nice experience to celebrate my wife birthday in a hight restaurant!
Service was beyond great and the view at night time is amazing.
Celebrated my Birthday with friends and had a wonderful time. Food was excellent, atmosphere was great.
Great service by Reeta. Decent food but way overpriced. Also, having a mandatory pri-fixe menu is a not a good way to treat your hotel guest’s.
Ingreibles vistas, excepcional comida, inmejorable servicio. Muy recomendable.
We went to The View as a belated 70th birthday for my sister and belated 21st for my daughter and were very happy with our visit. The waiters were very attentive. The food was incredible, lots of choice. We were not rushed at all and were able to enjoy the view. Our time there was finished by my daughter being bought out a birthday cheesecake and having happy birthday sung to her. Well worth the money.
Great atmosphere but food overpriced. Good but not really amazing. Service was excellent.
The best experience we’ve had so far. Beautiful view. Delicious food!!
Great food served by 2 men that were great
And told us a lot about New York
Was great thank you
The view at the view was amazing my date was in auh the drinks were great the food was good just a all around fantastic night I will definitely be going back really soon
It’s right around the corner from the lion king theatre, which was very convenient. The food wasn’t the good, typical food nothing outstanding. The view was awesome, and if you can do during sunset time that would be ideal. Make sure to allot 2 to 2.5 hours for the dinner
The food was all excellent and beautifully prepared. It was a wonderful meal at a great venue.
I will say I didn't realize how their pricing works. Everyone gets a one charge ($89) for a three-course meal, and you pick something from each category. There are plenty of selections in each category--many high-end--so it's not a problem. Just something to note.
The restaurant is a great spot to enjoy the view of NY from above. We came for a dinner before a Broadway show and it worked great! The waiter immediately checked with us how much time we had, so that we were at the show on time. They served us swiftly and kept the track of time. The food was good, nothing outstanding, but good. The drinks - the menu looked good, but I didn’t like that our drinks by the glass were already full when they brought them out, ie were not poured from the bottle in front of us.
Amazing views, amazing food. We booked this restaurant when we travelled over from the UK as our "special meal out" did not disappoint. Best steak our party had ever had
Great location, great View, staff and food very good.
Great meal and experience . Views are amazing . This is not a cheap place to eat, don't go if you are on a budget
Lovely treat after a wonderful time in New York. Antonio was very attentive and the food was great. The restaurant was very accommodating as I’m dairy free. Definitely recommend.
The food was delicious and with good portions provided. The view is simply the best ratio quality/price restaurant with the best view in new york. This restaurant is a five star one and the personal is pretty nice and paying attention to your need.
We had travelled from the UK and booked online before arrival which was easy to do. The food was incredible and the staff were very friendly and helpful. If we turn to New York The View is a must.
Nur schon der tollen Aussicht wegen, Bedienung war sehr freundlich das essen war recht gut. Kann man empfehlen.
Ich kann auch weitere Auskünfte geben.
Not the view we expected food was ok the restaurant is a bit dated
This is a really interesting restaurant with nice views and an intriguing menu, but the environment is a little dated and it’s definitely more of a tourist destination than a high-end dining experience. As such, the price isn’t really justified, but you should go and check it out at least once — just make sure that it’s on a Sunday day! 😎
