We had a wonderful brunch. The food was excellent. Samir was our server and he was so sweet and attentive. He made the dining experience extra special.
Service was attentive food was good & overall value was not bad! The rotating dining room floor giving you a 360 of the city was awesome!
Worth the price! Food was excellent, taste freshly made from scratch! Server and manager were so polite and held conversation with us and didn’t rush our conversations or questions we had. Overall fantastic!! Highly recommend this place. I never leave reviews because I feel as if it isn’t posted but man this place was so great, whether it’s posted or not, I’m leaving this review lol
Great view. Worth going once. No reason to return as food was fair.
Surprisingly good food. I picked it for the ambience, but was impressed with both the superb service and inventive menu. Would return....and I live in nyc!
Delicious food and great service from Brian.
The gazpacho was just perfect with a tone of spicy taste. And the NY Sirloin, was cooked perfect. So goood!!
It’s a great novel experience. The restaurant moves - a good conversation starter. The views are fun - not major sweeping vistas but different interesting NYC views. And the food was surprisingly excellent, the service good. We appreciated that is was quiet enough to talk in the restaurant. It is expensive...
It’s more buzzy and cheaper upstairs in the bar if that’s your thing.
We had a meal here for a special birthday, the food and service was excellent. They also made a small gluten free birthday cake to end the evening.
We had dinner at The View for our 30th anniversary. So it was an important occasion.
I recommend making your reservation for near sunset, or slightly later. The view is more impressive once it gets dark and you can see all of the city lights. And the sun just goes behind the buildings anyway, so there wasn't really much of a sunset to see. And after the sun goes down they light the little candles on the table and dim the restaurant lights. So another reason to go later - assuming you are into the whole romantic ambiance thing.
The food was spectacular. We both thought our meals were outstanding - every course. For dessert I got the "Cherry Explosion", and it was super good and really visually stunning as well.
The service was very good - not necessarily spectacular like the food, but really good.
We weren't rushed out, we sat there for nearly 2 hours I think, taking in the view after dinner.
One thing that didn't go quite like I wanted (and this is NOT the restaurant's fault): since it was a special occasion, we got a call before our trip asking me if I would like anything special. I asked for flowers on the table. Not like a big arrangement, since we were staying in the hotel and of course I wasn't going to schlep them on the airplane for the trip back home. I thought I was very clear that I wanted a small arrangement in a vase on the table. What we got was a beautiful flower arrangement wrapped up in paper, sitting on the table. They were wrapped the way you might get an arrangement from a florist if you didn't get the vase with it. So my wife peered into the paper wrapping and saw a nice flower arrangement, but there was nothing else we could do with it since there was no vase, and it was too large to put on a small table anyway. So if you get that call, be VERY SPECIFIC. They were beautiful flowers, but all wrapped up was really just a waste of money.
I hope that helps someone else. If we go back to NYC, we will definitely go back to the View.
Our waiter was AMAZING!!!!!! We will be back for sure!!!!
I thought the view from the restaurant was amazing but was extremely disappointed in the food. The bread rolls before the meal were stale. I ordered steak well done and it arrived medium and had to be sent back to be redone. Very poor standard of food for extortionate price.
Booked this restaurant for its proximity to Penn Station and our friends' hotel in NYC. Did not realize it was in the Marriott Marquis until the day we went. Was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food, great service and of course the views. Decided on this restaurant as it was a touristy spot and our friends were in town from Europe. The day began foggy but the sun burst out leaving us with the best scenery on our dinner rotation. Would recommend this restaurant for a fun, touristy, experience with excellent food. We had great drinks and wine, the price fixed menu had enough choices that we all found something we liked. The appetizers were okay. The NY Sirloin was excellent and the Moroccan Lamb Shank was delicious - filled with fruits, couscous and tasty spices. Desserts were special. The cherry explosion looked as good as the taste, the Profiterole dessert was a bit different - did not like the actual profiterole but loved the ice cream and chocolate inside. The caramel sauce just made the whole thing wonderful. We had a great time and enjoyed our time rotating around the city.
Beautiful skylight be perfect New York experience
We enjoyed a leisurely brunch. The food and selections were plentiful and delicious. We stayed a long time and never felt rushed to leave. I will go again.
Our waitress Colette was wonderful. The food was fair, not outstanding. The price was too expensive for the little that is offered. We had a four year old that ate about a cup of food and there was very little I could eat do to a special diet. Therefore, the bill of $300.00 was a little over priced.
Second to none, The View Restaurant was spectacular. What a way to see the city and the food was outstanding. Service was over the top. Best waiter ever.
Our appetizers were good but the entrees were nasty. Both the steak and salmon were grainy / powdery , a sign that they were not fresh. We couldn’t eat them . We just ended up eating dessert and left.
I celebrated my 6 yr wedding anniversary and I enjoyed it to the max. The food was great and the view was amazing. I recommend getting a window seat to explore the view to the max.
The rotating view of the city is awesome. The food was top quality with great service. The dessert was delish too.
We loved it! Absolutely fabulous!
View very nice especially at end of day into night. Food surprisingly good. Service by waiter Luis was first rate.
We had such a wonderful dinner to celebrate our daughters 16th birthday.
From the front desk to leaving everyone was wonderful, friendly professional made our time there memorable. It was my date 66th birthday and I know he will always remember the evening. The service was excellent and food wonderful we both had the salmon. They provided a little cake with candle and sang him happy Birthday.
In the last 3 years I only order Salmon and this was by far the best I have had Paris included. We will be back
The View was a very unique restaurant experience at the top of the Marriott. We had gorgeous views of Manhattan and the restaurant was slowly revolving throughout dinner so it was wonderful. The food was great and our waiter and his helper were superb!
We had a great time & I would highly recommend this restaurant! The view is lovely and the food was delicious. Our servers Joshua & Samir were excellent. I would definitely return.
Great food and impeccable service!
The food was really pretty good. The fingerling potatoes were not good that came with the filet. The kale salad was excellent! The price was very expensive.
It was a great experience a must for the amazing view the food was excellent great server Luis
Thank you from r such a wonderful evening! Seriously, the subset view was spectacular, service was phenomenal, ambience was perfect our anniversary celebration, and food was excellent! Thank you!!
Not the best food....menus look run down...just not the best experience
Can’t say enough. Amazing views, ambience, food, service and drinks!!!
Super welcoming and we had a great time!
It was our 20th wedding anniversary and this place really disappointed as we had come all the way to NY from the UK. Should have taken all the previous reviews on board but thought it would be okay. Once we found it via various lifts, the place looked very tired and in need of a referb, nothing special at all. The staff were not attentive in the bar area or the meet and greet area and definitely didn't make you feel special, felt more like a bus station than a top restaurant. The starter was ok but my husband had cold crab cakes (were supposed to be like that I think) but he didnt like them. The steak was good but the dessert felt like it was out of a supermarket - cheesecake and tasted processed not freshly made. The actual view was good as the restaurant rotated 360 degrees with a night view which was good, that was the only good thing about this place. Sorry The View but you really did disappoint and let our evening down.
Decent food, terrible service.
Until our seating ok, then 40 minutes before our waiter took our order - forgot the white wine I ordered, with the result that I was done with my starter when, after I asked for it again, the wine was served.... I could go on!
GREAT VIEW OF TIMES SQUARE, NYC! 48TH FLOOR OF MARRIOTT MARQUIS
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner here! The view was wonderful, and the food did not disappoint!
My boyfriend treated me to a 3course meal here on my 30th birthday! Would highly recommend for Any special occasion as it's a total treat! The 360° views and the ambience, frank sinatra music playing in the background made it so special! Felt like a dream!
It was our 45th wedding anniversary and first time in New York. Staff were exceptionally welcoming. Not only did they serve us efficiently and most pleasantly but they gave us a “happy anniversary” cake to go. A wonderful evening
Eat there 4 times a year. Absolutely love the Sunday brunch. Waiter Antonia superb.
Great experience, service was excellent. Everything on point perfect romantic dinner. The view was amazing with a nice sunset. Would do it a hundred times more.
