The View Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We had a wonderful pre-theatre dinner here on Saturday night. Although the view was somewhat limited by the snowfall, it is still so impressive. The price-fixe three course dinner was outstanding. The selections were varied and each were delicious. We loved the shrimp cocktail and ravioli for starters, the filet mignon and steak were tender with excellent sides and the desserts lovely. Our terrific servers were efficient and friendly. What a treat to then walk downstairs for the show. Highly recommend it!
Arrive 15 minutes prior to my reservation. Got to the host stand and was seated pretty promptly. Another table was seated right behind us roughly five minutes after we were seated. After waiting for over 20 minutes, myself and the table behind us decided to leave as we never even got greeted. It was right at opening, place was not busy, not even close to being 15% occupied. Pretty consistent service levels according to past reviews. Thankfully, only wanted to do drinks. Be advised, each drink is at least $20 per order. So overall, they did a favor for us to avoid paying the outrageously high prices. Will never return.
The dinning experience was excellent the only issue was when we were waiting for our table. They informed us we could be at the bar for drinks and one of the glass was dirty and smell like fish. But when they called our table we left the drinks. Downstairs by the dinning was great service was good and very attentive.
The View is the experience of a revolving restaurant but not much more. The service was impeccable but the food was just OK and way to expensive for what it was. The restaurant lacked atmosphere as many tables were empty on a Friday night. I would not go back. A cake was given to us to celebrate our anniversary which was a lovely gesture.
Outstanding--in every way. Not for the faint of wallet. Had fixed price three course meal, and four glasses of wine total between us, was $325 with tip. But nothing in the city, including the Empire State Building, holds a candle to the view. Food was absolutely delicious--I had been there before but do not remember the food being that wonderful--and I am from New Orleans. Service was impeccable, friendly and attentive without being at all pushy. For any special occasion, be it anniversary, valentines' date (our celebration), or just because, this is the place.
The view was incredible and the atmosphere was very romantic. However, the food was very poor. Both me and my boyfriend left most of each course that we ordered, which was a shame as we chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary on our holiday from England. Very expensive for the food we recieved.
The View was absolutely spectacular! Amazing view of NYC from so high! We were visiting NYC from Nova Scotia Canada and this restaurant was recommended from a cast member of Come From Away! We were not disappointed! Will recommend this restaurant to anybody visiting NYC!
We went for Sunday brunch just before the start of our matinee show at the Minskoff theater. The View is directly across from the Minskoff theater, so it was the perfect location for us. The buffet was lovely and we were able to relax and enjoy the view from our seats at the rotating lounge. Keep in mind they only take reservations.
We spent a night in the city w our two children (8 and 5) after watching Disney’s Aladdin. The next morning I surprised the family w brunch at The View. They all loved the experience. The food choices were good, the service was friendly and the views were unbeatable. My kids can’t wait to go back.
We booked The View for my husbands 40th birthday for brunch. We were greeted and taken to a table next to the window with great views of Manhattan (despite the pouring rain ☔️ ). The selection was fantastic ..I don’t eat meat and there was more than enough to cater for me. Service was impeccable. We would definitely come back again if we were ever back in New York.
My boyfriend and I would like to say thank you to all the staff that looked after us at the view. The food was wonderful. You also made a very young 40 year old feel very special to celebrate his birthday. The cake was tasty. The view could have been better. But hey, you can’t change Mother Nature.
The food was very good. However, for the cost I would have preferred it if there were not small crying children allowed in the restaurant. It totally distracted us from the evening and being able to enjoy the ambience of the restaurant. We were seated against the window so we could enjoy the view, but there was a table seated next to us with two small crying children who were obnoxiously loud and were throwing rolls on the floors repeatedly.
