Fantastic view, food ia awesome
Our servers were so friendly! Tom was delightful! Thanks!
Loved the restaurant food was great and the view was amazing the only negative was tip automatically added and was $90!!
Had a fantastic birthday experience. Even sang and had a special complimentary cake. Everyone was so friendly and the food was exceptional. Best filet we've ever had! Totally recommend stopping by.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The meal was rushed, the service was horrible and the restaurant is in desperate need of a renovation. Overpriced and the view was nothing to write home about. Massive disappointment.
Great view and ambiance. Takes about an hour for one rotation. Brunch food is just decent there's hot, cold, and dessert sections. Service is excellent and they brought a cute little cheesecake out for birthday occasion.
Very over priced!!! Food was average!!!! Views were also average!!!
I was not happy with anything at the view. The food was horrible. The waitress was very sarcastic and made my husband and I feel very uncomfortable needless to say we were celebrating Our Two Year anniversary. This was an overpriced disappointment!!!! The sad thing about it is when I posted a picture on social media (of water and a candle cause I wouldn’t DARE show the mortifying plate of food ) and tagged the location my inbox was flooded with horror stories with similar complaints. I’m a chef and I was totally unhappy I don’t put a price tag on great food or great service, but I would have been overjoyed eating a frank from a dirty frank stand and spinning around in a circle and I don’t eat meat.
Arranged an evening meal to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. Waiters very friendly and attentive, view was great as restaurant rotates, food was good. The only negative was I felt it was a little expensive for what it was - our bill came to to over $350 - which included nothing really fancy.
Beautiful view but food average and very expensive .
We were looking forward to a nice dining experience with a beautiful view of New York City. We had reservations and arrived 10 minutes early. We were told they weren’t ready for dinner but we could have a drink at the bar. We proceeded to the second hostess station and were asked the same questions again but instead were brought to our seats. The server came to our table and took our drink order. She asked if we were staying for dinner or just having quick bites with our drinks. She then explained that they only had a buffet for $40 a person. We were confused after reading the menu presented on the website. We explained for the third time that we had dinner reservations. We decided to stay for the buffet. We ordered drinks and went to take a look at the buffet. It had salad items, hummus and pita and 4 hot pans. A chicken in sauce, beef bolognese, mashed potatoes and a plain ziti. We were taken aback by the selection as compared to the dinner menu we read. We finished our drinks and explained we wouldn’t be staying for dinner. The waitress did not seem surprised and it explained her greeting statement. The table in front of us had a visit from the manager with an apology. What are they thinking!? The place was very sparse which is too bad because they have prime real estate right in time square. To top off our experience, they marked us as a no show on open table. So disappointing that not one person on our way out asked why we were leaving - not even the waitress but then she new why and maybe this had been an ongoing occurrence? The gentleman at the hostess station even asked if we were looking for the bathroom or the elevator! We were only there for 15 minutes for our drink! We responded ‘the elevator’ and were pointed in the direction to it...and that summed up our experience.
Nice views, good food, service seemed understaffed so at times it was a little slow to get attention at the table.
The restaurant experience was disappointing The place is seriously outdated starting with decor and ending with the food The salad bar was very boring except for smoked fish The desert was ok and I guess it's deficult to ruine fresh agg omelet
The bathroom needs updating . But the service was great: friendly attentive and very polite. I would not recommend this place to anyone Its missing New York energy and is very touristy.
Ambiance and experience was great to see the midtown area rotating whiling eating. The food was very bad and not worth the extremely expensive pricing. I was very disappointed by the food. Pricing and food do not equal.left very disappoint; will not go back and would not recommend.
My fiance took me here for my 39th birthday. It was very special. They accommodated our request for a great view table, the food was amazing and dessert was very creative. Pricey, but very worth it for the food you receive. Last, but not least, our server took the initiative to take several photos of us together which was a great finishing touch. I would defiantly go again!!
Lovely ravioli starter but very disappointed by everything else. Overpowering and badly combined flavours. Nice views, would return for drinks but not a meal.
Absolutely loved it, returning visit and it was still as magical as the first.
For that price i would expect much better experience.
The restaurant really do not provide value for the money paid.
And looks like a typical turists trap....
Everything was amazing. Sat by the window and was able to see NYC. Highly recommend this place!
It is great to let go of the hustle and bustle that is Times Square to find this oasis 48 stories above. No table is a bad view table, which if timed right provides for a great sunset backdrop. The meal experience exceeded expectations and portions were great. We each had something different and became part of the clean plate club.. definitely a must do restaurant. Great for any occasion. Our waiter Sameer was friendly and helpful, as well. We will return...
This restaurant is what you would expect for better or worse. The revolving view is interesting, but that is the only attraction. The food and service are mediocre and the price is ridiculously inflated. They rush the diners through as quickly as possible because the more they can rip off at these inflated prices the more money they make.
Friendly pleasant experience great view wonderful servers
A bit pricey.
#1 ambiance really good food
Very nice staff good food
Pre-theater dinner at Richard Rogers. I would have liked a bit less fish, but food was mostly good.
Great revolving restaurant at The Marriott Marquis on Times Square. Worth it for the view. It was on something like the 38th floor of the hotel. Prix-fix menu, three courses for $89.00. Was the food worth it ... probably not. But worth it for a special occasion and for the view. Deserts were awesome!
We locked in on The View after reading reviews and looking for a 'Time Square experience" that was memorable. I was hesitant in the 11th hour given it was my sister, me & her 2 very young kids (4 & 6) but we decided the splurge was worth trying to keep the kids wrangled in. You take a special glass elevator up to the restaurant, which made it fun. The restaurant is downstairs, & we were warmly greeted by the hostesses who were incredibly engaging with the kids. Our table was a great one, tucked in a corner right on the outer edge of the revolving restaurant. The views are lovely, even though this particular night there was a winter storm. The kids were a bit disappointed that the revolving was not faster (which was pretty funny since it is definitely fast enough). The service was fantastic, and our server took great care of us and understood how to manage out table with the kids. They brought crayons & a coloring mat for each of them, AND they had a great little kids menu which was unexpected but wonderful. Additionally, they whipped the kids meals up quickly (pasta/olive oil & steak/mashed potatoes). My sister & I each did the prix fixe: starting with Jumbo Shrimp cocktail, the prawns were enormous. It came with some delicious pickled cucumbers & toast. One of us did the filet mignon, the other top sirloin. The filet came with heavenly mashed potatoes (not sure how they got them so light and fluffy), the sirloin came with a huge baked potato that had their house mac/cheese on it. We had actually ordered the mac/cheese shareable in case the kids were picky about their food. It was very good. For dessert we did cheesecake and Panna cotta, which were both divine. Overall this was between a four & five star meal. The food itself was very good, but I can't go with outstanding in comparison to other meals I have had. The ambiance & service however were on point. The fact they were so great with the kids in such an upscale environment was meaningful.
It was awesome.
Muy buen servicio y comida excelente
A little pricey and limited menu, but, the food was great and I really loved the Chocolate/Gingersnap Pudding.
Beautiful views of New York City from the 50th floor!
Great food with excellent service, while enjoying an excellent view of New York. Then we finished it off with a 100 year old cognac!
Gorgeous views of the city...delicious food...many options to choose
We arrived early for our reservation and were given a pager for our table. We waited in the lounge upstairs. After waiting for nearly an hour, our waitress in the lounge (Jackie, thank goodness for her!) grabbed us and marched us down to the restaurant. The restaurant insisted they had been paging us, but our pager wasn’t working. We were seated next to a mirror which cut off half our view. The cocktails in the restaurant were not as good as in the lounge and our first courses (the lobster bisque and the tuna tartare) were not up to par. After having such a bad experience up to this point, we asked to speak to the manager and cut our night short. The only good parts of the evening were the view and Jackie, our waitress in the lounge. Thankfully, the manager was apologetic and we were able to pay for our drinks and leave. This is the first (and hopefully last) time I have ever walked out of a restaurant.
Great food , outstanding service .A real treat for my birthday. Highly recommend
I feel that I would not return to this restaurant due to the prices. Only if I have over $100 per person to spent would I return. I was totally unaware that was only one price per person per meal. The food was good but, over priced.
The food was cold, service slow, carpets were dirty, overall the experience was disappointing.
We visited here on Sunday 25th February 2018 having booked for the Sunday Brunch. We had a wonderful time , despite poor weather and the view not being as clear as it would be on a clear day. The food more than made up for the disappointing weather and special mention to our server Joseph who looked after us so well.
We would definitely recommend this to other people and still encourage them to go even if the weather isn't good, because the experience and food is still great.
We will definitely be back next time we visit NYC.
I’ve done this several times. It never disappoints. Food is as good as it looks. Beautiful presentation as well.
