Everything was perfect.....delicious food, attentive wait staff and talented singers!
I would recommend this to any and every friend of mine.
Excellent food, terrific service and the singing wait staff was absolutely superb!
We were there for a college graduation and everyone had a terrific and memorable time!!
It could not have been any better:)
We were in town from L.A. and wanted to treat my Philly born and bred mother-in-law to a special and nostalgic experience for Mothers Day. A friend suggested Victor Cafe to my husband, who hadn't been there for 40 years. It was a fantastic experience. The food was great and very reasonable. And the service and singing was out of this world. Our server, Julia, has a fantastic voice, and additionally gave us wonderful service. We felt like we should have been pouring water for her.
Very good! Live opera singing is unique and enjoyable, food is delicious.
went there for mother's day. it was wonderful. food was delicious. the waitress sung parts from different opera shows. the atmosphere was perfect. was simply a lovely place . a south philly gem
My family went to The Victor Cafe this past weekend for mother's day dinner. We had such a great time! We had drinks upstairs at the candlelight bar first. The food and service was A+ and the opera singing waiters are amazing. They have incredible voices and really make dinner fun and extra special. Highly recommend!
One of my favorite restaurants. Never disappoints. The food is excellent, as is the service. And the ambiance and music is lovely
Great everything: food, service, atmosphere, entertainment and value.
I can't say enough about this place. We went here for my college graduation and from the time you enter until you leave, friendly staff is always there to help out. Also each staff member is a trained singer so that was pretty incredible to watch. We had a few appetizers (calamari/mussels) and I ordered the fra diavolo w/ calamari, and some desserts and everything was incredible. They even put a candle on my dessert/acknowledged everyone celebrating a graduation which was really nice! Our waitress was extremely helpful and talented and it was just a really great night I got to spend with my family. We're all lovers of Italian food and music, so this night was really incredible. We will definitely be back! Thank you to everyone who made our night great!
Incredible place to eat I've been there a few times but have never left a review. The food is amazing, the singers/waiters and waitresses are unbelievable, and it's 100% worth going to. Caitlyn or Kaitlin you're our favorite! (Hope that was you're name I never remember 😅 cause everyone is so great!)
The food and the service were excellent. On top of that you can enjoy arias (and sometimes show tunes) sung by an extraordinarily talented wait staff. Will return again soon.
Yo, this place was perfect. Food was great. Singers blew my mind. Ambiance was intimate and cozy. Will definitely be revisiting!
What a blast! Food was great, but ambiance was wonderful in this old building in excellent condition. Every 20 minutes the wait staff sings opera to taped music. Really a scene stealer. The staff was wonderful at service plus had roaring voices. Just do it - you don't have to love opera to enjoy beautiful voices.
The staff is very friendly. The waiters are not only extremely talented, but great at service. The food was amazing. The best I've had in years!!!!!!!! I highly recommend this place.
The place is a romantic gem. All the servers sing opera during servings. The food is outstanding.
Very Entertaining. The upstairs lounge is a great place to have a cocktail before or after your meal. In addition to the authentic entrees, we enjoyed a few of the salads, cesar salad, prosciutto, and pear as well as the calamari. Its a special place for a special occasion.
Victor Cafe is perfect for birthdays, the ambiance is second to none. Live opera by professionally trained singers.
Our party ordered three different pasta dishes. All were delicious and we really enjoyed the quality of the singers on the night we were there. Will definitely return
Food was ok but nothing spectacular. Service was ok but distracted. Let’s face it, we came for the opera, everything else was meh.
My husband and I have been coming to The Victor Cafe since the 1960s. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. We took friends from Canada there this visit. They absolutely loved the food, ambiance , music and service.
This is our fifth visit. We were joined by two family members who completely enjoyed our evening. The waitstaff are classically trained opera singers and the arias add a very special touch to an evening of traditional Italian food. The venue was created from two old neighborhood townhouses with a delightful lounge upstairs.
Birthday party! Best place to get your birthday day song sung to us.
Really fun restaurant. Parking is a problem pretty much anywhere in South Philly, so expect to valet your car for $12 + tip (cash only, cannot apply to your check.) Service was only "okay," which was disappointing.
Beautifully wonderful as always the perfect place to go
Victor Cafe was a lot of fun. The restaurant is celebrating 100 years. The live opera singing is wonderful. The food was very good. We enjoyed our evening very much. We would go back!
We had been here before and once again very happy with our return. They were busy but all moved at a regular pace so no lag time between courses. The singers are very good and add to the ambiance.
Fans of Rocky Balboa movies, we decide to book at the Famous « Adrians Restaurant » (Victor’s Cafe).
A beautiful and unique restaurant, warm welcome, festive atmosphere, delicious meals, tasty dessert ...
and THE big surprise for us: a singing service by the most talented singer staff ever!
They will charm you instantly, whether you like opera or not ... its impossible to romain indifferent to the beauty and power of their voices. Incredible voices and romantic songs that gives the chills and touch your heart.
Thank you Victor’s Cafe for that breathtaking dinner-opera, an evening that I will remember forever😊
Outstanding Italian cuisine!!! Great atmosphere!!! Wonderful wait staff!! A must "try it" for any Italian restaurant lover! Rocky & Creed memorabilia was great!!! Will definitely be back!!
Excellent service, food/wine, and opera singing-performing staff. An iconic
gem that should not be missed when in Philly.
An awesome place for great food, great dirty vodka martinis, amazing ambiance. If you love Opera, this is the place for you. All of the wait staff are aspiring opera singers. Bravo!!!
This is definitely a Hidden Gem for anyone visit in the Philadelphia area the food was fantastic the restaurant was historic and the opera singing was beautiful it's a definite good experience to do if you come to Philadelphia take a few moments off the beaten path and find this Hidden Gem
Good food in the Italian style. Fun entertainment and some terrific, yet undiscovered vocal talent!
Brought a large party of clients from Asia and everything went really well. They really enjoyed it.
Excellent food provided with friendly, personal service. The opera singing was truly memorable, and at times almost moved one to tears. A unique and exhilarating combination that will bring me back again and again.
One small regret. On two occasions, my party made a musical request to the singer-waitress. On both occasions we were politely told that she'd have to ask the manager. At no point did the singer / waitress get back to us, however, and neither request was acted upon. I understand that the purpose of the Victor is not to sing on demand, but it would have been nice to have been given a polite 'No' and given a reason. "Can you sing us anything from La Traviata?" was not a wild request. The implication was that we should just be quiet and take whatever we were given.
Nonetheless, a friendly atmosphere and wonderful experience.
I was in Philadelphia twice and had dinner both times. The food, music and staff was fantastic. Enjoyed it the first so much that I had to go back.
I was looking for a good Italian restaurant and this one did not disappoint! It is one of the oldest Italian restaurants in Philly. The main draw is the live opera singing by the waiters and waitresses. Although my family and I are not big opera people, listening to the music was nice and helped make this a fun dining experience! We started with the baked clams casino and fried calamari appetizers to share. They were both good, although I have had better baked clams casino. For entrees, 2 of us had veal saltimbocca which was very good, and we were given big portions. Another person ordered salmon which they enjoyed, and were also given a large portion. Lastly, we finished with tiramisu which was very very good and plenty big to share among 3 people who were already fairly full. The service was also excellent! Our water glasses were never empty. The meal took a little longer due to the opera performances every 20min, but it was definitely worth it to hear the great singing. I would definitely make reservations as the restaurant was very busy, even on a Sunday night. This is a very unique place and a great place to go if you are looking for Italian food with some neat entertainment!
The Victor Cafe is a wonderful experience. The food is delicious (though a tad expensive) and the servers (who all sing Opera) are very friendly, attentive, and talented. They ring a bell when someone is about to sing but that still didn't quiet down some patrons. Still, I would highly recommend an evening here.
Delicious!! Will be back for sure! The music was wonderful.
