We were the only party in the restaurant on a Sat night. Now we know why. Three of us ordered the chicken cordon bleu and it had an unidentifiable smell and taste. It appeared to be deep fried. The broccoli was so over peppered it could not be eaten and I like pepper. The waitress was delightful and felt bad. Sorry to say that I would not recommend.
We had a wonderful, quiet evening with extraordinary good food. We have already recommended The Vermont Inn to many folks over the weekend. We are really wanting to visit the restaurant on the Sunday Night Family Night. I think it would be great for couples to be able to come together and enjoy each others fellowship and the food that you offer on a Sunday evening. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. We will visit again!
I found this place to be very enjoyable. The ambiance was very nice. The food was great and my party was very pleased with the cocktail and beer lists.
The Vt inn restaurant has been open for a year now and what a delight it is. We went on a Sunday and had the 17.95 special dinner. What a nice selection I highly recommend this quaint restaurant in a lovely VT setting. I suggest you make a reservation because the dining room is small and intimate. The staff is lovely
Chef's style is ion the spicy side. Leave the salt on the table!

The menu and food is spectacular!!! Only restaurant that serves food better than Table 24 and Roots. Definitely a hidden gem. Service could.be a little better but the specialty drinks and food outweigh any negatives
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Vermont Inn. The Inn has a rustic atmosphere, and a authentic Vermont comfort. It was snowing the night we dined, and that added to the warm feeling in the restaurant. We enjoyed the oysters, roasted lamb and grilled bluefish. The service was attentive and engaging. Thank you!
My boyfriend and i chose Vermont Inn for our Valentine's dinner. He was thrilled with his steak, and I enjoyed my trout. The dessert sampler was wonderful. The dinner also included champagne for us both and a red rose for me.
Unfortunately, the sense of romance was disrupted by lively conversation at the table behind us.
We used a gift certificate to pay for our meal, and even though there was about $20 left on it, we did not get a gift certificate, card, etc., for the balance. They missed an opportunity to draw us back for another visit by handing something like that out.
While the VT inn has been around for a while, the new owners have done a great job revamping the place. The food was great and so was the service. The menu was also nice because there was something for everyone, except maybe a solid vegan option. Our waitress was also great and the only compliant we really have was that it was a little chilly In the restaurant.
A lovely setting, and potentially good food. Lots of upsides, clean, friendly, etc. But! The waitress, though smiling and friendly, was untrained and kind of "innocent." Didn't tell us about the evening's specials until we asked, then she wasn't sure until she checked. We ordered two entrees and two salads. The salads were good -- but unrealistically large, and the dressing was much too salty. The entrees took a surprisingly long time to be served, and when they arrived were far too hot to eat -- actually dangerously hot. And again, rather too salty. The waitress was pleasant, but really inadequate from start to finish -- had to remind her of a lot. Water served in mason jars was a touch we found out of place foolish.
Had a great time, food was good, service was excellent, very flexible with arrangements.
This restaurant just opened by a new young couple.
Unfortunately they had a large birthday party in the main dining room with little kids running in and out so the experience was not all that enjoyable. Surprisingly, on a Saturday evening of Labor Day weekend they were out of two of their major entrees. Waitress had very nice personality and was prompt with our food. Their ceaser salad was kale, which was very strange.
We won't rush back
My wife and I went here for dinner on a tip from some friends. We went on Wednesday which was $5 flatbread pizzas and $5 Martinis. The pizzas were great and the Martinis were awesome. Ended up eating a smoked salmon app and a kale Caesar salad. Both were exceptional, homemade and with local ingredients. We got tofu with our salad that we wishes would have been grilled but it was still very good with a homemade lemon vinaigrette. Would def go there again. Service was friendly and attentive and the outdoor patio was nice for outdoor dining as well. Great Spot! Check em out!
Our group enjoyed the most gourmet 4th of July BBQ one could imagine. The view is breathtaking.
