My friend and I decided to have afternoon tea at the Veranda. Sat outside on the lanai since it’s always a nice view. There was a nice breeze too. Ordered the tea sandwiches which came with scones, clotted cream, and jam. The tea was ala carte. They have a full tea service though for about $50. My friend and I were trying to be healthy and forgo the desserts for a nice salad. Check came out to be about $50 each, tip included. Service was excellent. Food is always delicious. The only gripe I have was our tea cooled pretty quickly, but I blame the breeze on that. It was still delicious cold. Definitely my favorite spot to go.
おなかを空かせて伺ったので、Classic tea service50を2つと、サンドイッチとスコーンのセットを1つ、紅茶はKahala signature blend とEnglish breakfastを頂きました。
Always a wonderful experience having high tea here
Service was terrible, the servers didn't greet us at the door even though we had a reservation, we seated ourselves at an open table and got our own menus. Didn't get anyone to come to our table for 20 minutes. The servers were trying their best to ignore us as well as the other guests in the Veranda. My friend is pregnant and they accidentally switched my caffeinated tea with her decaf tea and she almost drank the entire teapot without realizing. The server brushed it off as the mistake was nothing. She didn't even get her a new teapot and gave her the one I had already finished with nothing in it. The server was like "Oh you need hot water?". Um hello, you gave my friend the teapot I had finished drinking already. I would think that a "five star" hotel like the Kahala would've hired and trained better staff than the two servers who were working on 3/25/18 on the Veranda. I wouldn't recommend attending their "afternoon tea service", ever.
They were so kind and accommodating to our varied dietary restrictions even though we didn't originally note it on the reservation. It was my daughter's first tea service and she LOVED it and my friend, who's birthday we were celebrating, was so happy with everything.
Thanks so much!
Afternoon tea food and dessrt is too small when considering of $50. value.
Carin and staff were wonderful!! Looking forward to revisiting after the remodel. 🌺
Bougie hotel, but great views.
Classic tea was good. Sandwiches were delicious. Deserts were good. Tea was good. Everything was just good in a beautiful setting and with lovely view of the pool. Quiet day but crying infants and deserts that melted in the heat took away from the service experience.
Awesome presentation and service!
Live piano music with singing was fun and enjoyable. Food portions skimpy and pricey. The 3 dessert platter was excellent. If and when we return, it'll just be for the music and the dessert platter (the chocolate cake was the best).
It was a wonderful evening. The food was excellent and so was the live music!
It was my Mom & Auntie’s first tea time experience. From our tea selections, scones, and sweet + savory sandwiches, we truly enjoyed the food, tea, and ambiance. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the outdoor beach scenery. We also had a nice view of the dolphins and some hotel guests swimming wIth them.
Perfect get together for besties to catch up and plan another lunch date~ High recommend!
Overall we had 3 meals at the resort, Xmas day lunch (outside) and two separate dinners(veranda). Xmas day (buffet) and one dinner (al a carte) stunning. Last dinner not quite as good. The food had been so good at the first evening dinner one of us repeated it which was a mistake, however the staff recovered well and offered alternative food at no charge. Well done. Would recommend to anyone.
Fabulous location, inpecable service and really good food!
Great! I wish we had more water added to our pot. Overall, everything was wonderful! Thanks!
I peersonally find the Kahala to be a wonderful gem tucked away for high tea, brunch, overall grounds to enjoy and it’s oceanfront. It’s a romantic place, and the Kahala is well run, managed and organized. I’ve never been disappointed.
The culinary team provided a fabulous Gluten-Free classic high tea. I will definitely return for afternoon tea at The Veranda with my friends.
afternoon tea at it's best. a fine selection with outstanding teas
Overall everything is fine, but there were too many fruit flies!! The server thought it was because of the Christmas tree, but there were literally like 20-30 fruit flies just at our table, flying all over our food and drinks, landing in the water and wine and dying in our glasses, which really took away from the whole experience.
Intimate and comfortable. Mostly small plates and limited entrees. Everything tasty. Full bar and good selection of wines available. Think of it as luxurious sports bar food. Fabulous entertainment with pianist Ginny Tiu performing from 7:30 to 10:00 on Sunday and Monday. Go just for the entertainment; the food and drink will be an afterthought.
A travel coordinator that I worked with over the years was visitng Oahu. She and I had never met before but shared many emails and phone calls. There is no other place to enjoy tea but at The Veranda in The Kahala Hotel & Resort! I invited Sheryl and her husband for afternoon tea. We each ordered our own preferred teas. And when the waithelp presented the tower of petit fours and sandwiches, it was quite impressionable! We had a great time sharing stories and laughing like old friends. I love bringing friends here! The Veranda makes the get togethers for me so easy and enjoyable than meeting in Waikiki. Parking is always easy and the drive towards the front of the hotel is so pleasing and welcoming. The Veranda will always be my favorite place!
We enjoyed the special October, Friday 3- course tasting meal paired with wines from France.
Each course was exceptional, my only dis-appointment was that each wine pour was a bit skimpy. If one was dining in Napa or Sonoma Valley the pour would have been much more generous.
For the afternoon tea- note the price differences- $20 for 4 tea sandwiches or 4 small desserts and scones, or for an extra $30 you can get both the 4 tea sandwiches and 4 small desserts.... the food is good, but 4 tea sandwiches do not equal a $30 upcharge in my book.
High tea was like very lovely ❤️Cost has increased but much tastier sandwiches & desserts☺️Very nice!
Took my visiting UK friends to afternoon tea in The Veranda. The is a GREAT place to sit, dine and catch up. The tea selections were ample for all three of us. I enjoyed my Roiboos tea and my friends had the English Breakfast tea and the Green tea. The Veranda Staff was made aware that one of the orders had to be for a vegetarian. And the Staff was accommodating. My friends were impressed.
The service and the food were outstanding.
Love this place! Order the Musubj
We have been trying over a number of years on our trips to the islands to experience afternoon tea at a number of hotels and other locations. We went to the Veranda at the Kahala Resort for that reason and to celebrate our 48th Wedding Anniversary. We had a very nice tea on the balcony overlooking the Dolphin pool and other outdoor spots of the resort. The food was excellent. We had the Royal tea with a glass champagne to toast each other. Our only minor advice would be to have the tea water hotter as we learned to enjoy it that way when we lived in England. The resort is very beautiful - it was a nice anniversary treat!
Afternoon tea was excellent and my wife and I have enjoyed very much.
Great Afternoon Tea and Light Lunch!
The talented pianist, David Swanson, always makes out evening there a joy. We love being able to dance on the small but ample dance floor.
The pupus are yummy, albeit a tad expensive. The tomato soup with pesto tasted freshly made from scratch. The fried chicken pieces are a bit salty, but fun to eat in handy portion sizes. The drinks are refreshing. The free valet service is a plus. It's fun to go outside and see the dolphins swimming about in their dolphin pool. An enjoyable venue for a night out whether local or a tourist.
A must for the girls. Lovely presentation of tea sandwiches and desserts including scones with clotted cream and jam and your choice of hand crafted tea. Stunning view of the ocean and dolphin pools.
We appreciate having the choice of afternoon tea or light lunch. That's a unique offering for the later afternoon.
Beautiful setting, not too busy, romantic, food is good.
I was a little disappointed that they did not do anything special for my daughter's birthday. We were greeted by Brittnee who did acknowledge that we were there for Lauren's birthday. When we went to Chibo's for dinner, they made Lauren feel very special. She did not feel the same at Kahala.
David Swanson is an amazing entertainer. Service is professional and friendly. Food quality is far below what is expected at such a fine resort
Nice open air space to relax over some cocktails and a light meal.
