Chicken and eggplant parm are the best in town. Prices are reasonable. Service is always tops. Sit in the front area if you want less noise -- back area tends to have a din when the restaraunt is busy. Can't go wrong with any of the Italian food at Venetian.
Veal was perfectly prepared and enjoyed to the last bite. Can’t go wrong with that choice
Always a good place to go. Food was good and tasty. My pasta portion though was small this time and our waitress did not care. She was little older and she seemed that did not care
As always the food was delicious!! Great family owned restaurant that has the ambiance and service you look forward to when you go there!
Amazing food, great service. Awesome for families or a date.
Always great service!!! Always great food!!!!
Food was just ok had the veal mrasala was really expecting great and just got ok. Had penne pasta with it with marinara sauce on it. I have never been served marsala with penne or marinara together just did not care for it. Usually have linguine with the marsala. I do not care for marinara sauce I was surprised it was not listed this way.
When we arrived for our 6:00 reservation, we found the Venetian closed. The Venetian should have told Open Table that they would be closed Sunday for Super Bowl.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was authentic. Service was great, very friendly and quick.
The restaurant was packed, but we had a reservation so were seated quickly. Our waitress, Gabby, was slammed however she and her assistant, Abby, took great care of our table. The food was delicious as usual & the owner, Joey, was there & he too was making sure everything was running smoothly. Try the calamari appetizer, it’s always tasty. We love the ravioli, manicotti & linguine with clams. Everything we have ever ordered has been yummy. They also have great cocktails, wine & beer. Definitely a place to dine for great Italian food!
Consistently great food, wonderful service... our favorite Italian restaurant. Huge menu variety - and we’ve never been disappointed. Calimari is light, crispy and amazing. Salads are always terrific... All the pastas are great and my new personal favorite is the shrimp puttanesca. You will love this place!
Food was good. The menus were sticky though.... it was also loud in there. We had never been there before so didn’t know what to expect. So if you’re going for a quiet date night.... don’t. I could hardly hear my spouse on the other side of the table.... wine and food were delivered though! Definitely recommend the chocolate cake.
I am from Central NY and think it’s difficult to find authentic Italian food here in San Diego. I LOVE The Venetian; it reminds me of the Italian restaurants I go to in Syracuse when I am there. We always take friends and family who are visiting from the East here and they are never disappointed. This restaurant has been family owned and operated since the mid 60’s; they know what they are doing and do it well. Go get take - out sometime; you wait in the area facing the kitchen and get to watch the staff work- a well oiled machine- like a nicely choreographed dance. Everyone who works here is happy and seems to take pride in their work. Give it a try.
I think they might have been under staffed that night. Service is normally pretty good.
All the food was fabulous. We’ve been going to Venetian for 33 yrs.
We had scallops, antipasto, caprese and pizza. All scrumptious. Amazing how the food gets better over the years.
Service was awesome.
Food and service were just fine. We had vegetarian pizza and eggplant parmesan, along with fried strip calamari....very good.
Excellent, scrumptious food prepared to perfection! Excellent service! Knowledgable staff and always willing to accomodate any special requests!
Great food, super good and attentive service and great ambience
My girlfriend and I were visiting San Diego and looking for an Italian restaurant for dinner. Found this neighborhood gem - the menu was large and lots of choices. We liked that the restaurant was family owned & operated. Wonderful service and food was excellent!! Definitely would return on our next visit to San Diego!
My husband and I were there for our 13th wedding anniversary. First time dining there since we have lived in the neighborhood for over 4 years. Last month we had ordered a pizza to go and it was delish. So that experience drove us to dine in for our special occasion. Our meal was divine. My husband had the steamed clams for starters and he was very content. I ordered the shrimp puttanesca, which was excellent and my husband had the manicotti. My husband was a little underwhelmed by his plate, he felt it needed something else to dress it up like maybe a side vegetable medley, but the steamed clams made up for it. We ordered dessert (which we never do) tiramisu. So happy we spoiled ourselves with this dessert. Yummy!! We will be back!
Best Cannelonni I've ever eaten! Appetizers were amazing. All 7 of us LOVED our food.
Hadn't been to The Venetian in a few years. Some how the dining room changed but the casual ambience is still there. The food and service was outstanding as I remembered it. Easy free lot parking across from the back entrance.
Great neighborhood restaurant - quickly becoming my favorite.
As always, the whole experience was excellent. We never leave this place disappointed.
Amazing food and amazing service! One of my favorite Italian restaurants in all of San Diego!
Both the food and service was first rate. However, it was very noisy. I'd try it on another time than Saturday evening.
Great food, great atmosphere
We always enjoy the food, the service and the ambience at Venetian. It has a comfortable, local feel and great food.
Fantastic dinner as always. Great food, great service, and great staff.
Great local mom and pop Italian restaurant. Will go back again
Perfect evening and all was great
Outstanding service on all levels, appetizer scallops amazing, clams tough, don't order. Not a fan of the minestrone, flavorless, but the Mediterranean salad another wonderful dish. All in all I love this place. You will not beat the service.
The food was alright. But was not kid friendly. The owner came out and told us our child was to loud and people left because of it. We have a 2 year old that was a little fussy. And we asked if it was ok before we sat down to eat. They said it was fine. We spent over 80$for our meal to make us feel we don't belong. They need a sign on the door that reads kids not welcome. Adults only so you don't bother others. Thanks.
Always reliable neighborhood favorite! The Venetian has weathered every food trend with really great food!
Best pizza ever. We have been eating at the Venetian since the eighties. Our parents before that. Quality food. Family owned since 1965.
This was my first time at the Venetian and I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, our server was friendly and efficient, and our booth was perfect. I definitely will return to enjoy another outstanding meal!
This place is my favorite Italian spot in San Diego. The food never disappoints nor does the service. A few favorites: bruschetta w prosciutto and THE SCALLOPS!!!! Lasagna with meat sauce & shrimp puttanesca. I love bringing new friends and family here and they all love it.
MY WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN GOING TO THE VENETIAN FOR SOME 30 YEARS SINCE MOVING TO SAN DIEGO. THE STAFF IS ALWAYS VERY FRIENDLY AND SERVICE EXCELLENT. WE CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON GREAT ITALIAN CUISINE AND THE COCKTAILS ARE OUTSTANDING.
Excellent food and service. Always consistently outstanding
Family owned Italian restaurant. Great food, reasonable prices and great service. Best steamed clams!!!!
