The Venetian’s award-winning Italian cuisine (including what critics call some of San Diego’s best pizza), relaxed setting and casual atmosphere have earned generations of fans since Vince Giacalone first welcomed customers in 1965. Highlights of the menu include bruschetta, seafood pastas, chicken and veal piccata, and thick- or thin-crust pizzas with either traditional or trendy toppings. Located in Point Loma, The Venetian’s friendly service and “Cheers” style vibe make it a favorite destination for date night, happy hour, dinner with friends or family celebrations. Seating includes the lively bar and patio (great for families and larger parties); comfy booths and banquettes; and a private wine cellar that can be reserved for parties of up to 16. The Venetian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The food was alright. But was not kid friendly. The owner came out and told us our child was to loud and people left because of it. We have a 2 year old that was a little fussy. And we asked if it was ok before we sat down to eat. They said it was fine. We spent over 80$$for our meal to make us feel we don't belong. They need a sign on the door that reads kids not welcome. Adults only so you don't bother others. Thanks.
This place is my favorite Italian spot in San Diego. The food never disappoints nor does the service. A few favorites: bruschetta w prosciutto and THE SCALLOPS!!!! Lasagna with meat sauce & shrimp puttanesca. I love bringing new friends and family here and they all love it.
Always reliable and delicious Italian food! Veal parmigiana is terrific: tender veal, delicious sauce, large portion. Shrimp Diablo is also wonderful: huge shrimp, great marinara sauce with a nice kick. Cannelloni was a treat as well. Good Caesar salad, good house salads, too. We are never disappointed here and recommend it highly.
If you love great Italian food then you will love this restaurant! We drive 30 minutes to enjoy the delicious food. We enjoy the calamari as a starter and for our main meals we can recommend their ravioli, spaghetti with sausage, manicotti and our very favorite is the linguine with clams. We've tried almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. The service is always top notch even on the busiest night!
We went on a busy Friday night and we're seated right away The service was great and our server discribed the dishes and made recommendations. The food was outstanding , full of flavor. I would recommend the Venetian for dates, families and friends Always a good time
The Venetian is a great San Diego gem. This is definitely a nice venue with a welcoming atmosphere. I found this location through the open table app and was able to set my reservation easily through the app. We were on a time schedule as we were celebrating our 9 year anniversary.
Once we arrived, we were immediately greeted and seated in our booth. The restaurant was quickly filling up and reassured me that this place has great food. Although the dining space is not the largest, the layout provided enough privacy for us to enjoy a nice and romantic meal.
I had already selected our entire course through the app and the food came out promptly. Presentation was nice and the food was delicious to say the least. My fiancé enjoyed her seafood pasta which had generous servings of scallops, shrimp, clams and calamari. My veal Marsala was equally good smothered with mushrooms and a tasty sauce.
Although no desert menu was available on the app, our server provided us with a complimentary tiramisu to go since we were too full to continue dining. This too was full of rich flavor and satisfying to our taste buds. We will definitely return to this location as their food and service is top notch.
