The Venetian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
My girlfriend and I were visiting San Diego and looking for an Italian restaurant for dinner. Found this neighborhood gem - the menu was large and lots of choices. We liked that the restaurant was family owned & operated. Wonderful service and food was excellent!! Definitely would return on our next visit to San Diego!
My husband and I were there for our 13th wedding anniversary. First time dining there since we have lived in the neighborhood for over 4 years. Last month we had ordered a pizza to go and it was delish. So that experience drove us to dine in for our special occasion. Our meal was divine. My husband had the steamed clams for starters and he was very content. I ordered the shrimp puttanesca, which was excellent and my husband had the manicotti. My husband was a little underwhelmed by his plate, he felt it needed something else to dress it up like maybe a side vegetable medley, but the steamed clams made up for it. We ordered dessert (which we never do) tiramisu. So happy we spoiled ourselves with this dessert. Yummy!! We will be back!
The food was alright. But was not kid friendly. The owner came out and told us our child was to loud and people left because of it. We have a 2 year old that was a little fussy. And we asked if it was ok before we sat down to eat. They said it was fine. We spent over 80$$for our meal to make us feel we don't belong. They need a sign on the door that reads kids not welcome. Adults only so you don't bother others. Thanks.
This place is my favorite Italian spot in San Diego. The food never disappoints nor does the service. A few favorites: bruschetta w prosciutto and THE SCALLOPS!!!! Lasagna with meat sauce & shrimp puttanesca. I love bringing new friends and family here and they all love it.
Always reliable and delicious Italian food! Veal parmigiana is terrific: tender veal, delicious sauce, large portion. Shrimp Diablo is also wonderful: huge shrimp, great marinara sauce with a nice kick. Cannelloni was a treat as well. Good Caesar salad, good house salads, too. We are never disappointed here and recommend it highly.
If you love great Italian food then you will love this restaurant! We drive 30 minutes to enjoy the delicious food. We enjoy the calamari as a starter and for our main meals we can recommend their ravioli, spaghetti with sausage, manicotti and our very favorite is the linguine with clams. We've tried almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. The service is always top notch even on the busiest night!
We went on a busy Friday night and we're seated right away The service was great and our server discribed the dishes and made recommendations. The food was outstanding , full of flavor. I would recommend the Venetian for dates, families and friends Always a good time
