TheFood and atmosphere was outstanding! The service was a little slow even wit was not especially busy. The staff was friendly and plentiful but our table was never cleared prior to the next course even though it was evident we were finished with previous course.

Very pricey for very unimpressive salmon served on what was called a tomato fennel fondue , but was really a runny tomato fennel sauce. Accompanied by flavorless peapods and corn on a cream sauce. Salmon underdone. Waited a long time for coffee and dessert.

We had a wonderful dinner! One of us had a seafood risotto, one had salmon, and one had a lamb dish. All were delicious. We are Ranch members and eat at The Valley Kitchen often. It’s a warm, inviting atmosphere with wonderful views from the inner dining room, or you can sit outside near the pool in a loosely enclosed area. The staff is welcoming and since we live on the property it is a short walk from our home if we choose. We are lucky to live so close to a wonderful restaurant.

We hadn't been to The Valley Kitchen in a long time. The server was great and food excellent however we chose to sit outside. The smoke from the fire was blowing right toward us for most of our meal which made the outdoor setting smokey. I'm sure we could have moved inside. Perhaps the restaurant can do something about the outdoor fire pit and the smoke?

Entirely too expensive for the quality and quantity of food received. If you want to spend 35.00 for a hamburger or 38.00 for two scallops, this is the place for you.

Overall we had a lovely dinner. Some things that could have made it better? 1. Air-conditioning too cold blowing on us and dinner entire time. 2. Better meal spacing. It felt rushed and one course piled in a other on the table. Clearly we were still enjoying and they kept bringing out next course too quickly.

Beware sitting outside for dinner when the fire pit is on. Smoke and ash blowing around and smelling up the place. Server Manuel was outstanding. Ate inside for breakfast two of the mornings and much better ambiance. Cozy couches act as seats for some tables. Great spread for the buffet and good views.

The place and grounds were beautiful. We were seated at 7:45, didn't get our meal until around 9:30. It was extremely noisy. I ordered the beet salad which was tasty, but only contained a total of 6 half pieces of beets and cost $14

We love to go the different restaurants and enjoy great different foods let’s just say this wasn’t one of them. My pork was so dry your could barely chew seriously like my mother made when I was a kid and the reason I thought I hated pork. My husband was less than exciting as well a few crunchy raviolis anyway when you have so many great 👍🏻 lace just down in Carmel it’s worth it to venture a little

Both orders of the sea bass were sinewy and totally inedible. Both orders of lamb sirloin were tough. When we requested bread, we were told the restaurant ran out of bread. The Caesar salad was overpriced for the portion size. The service was inattentive to our requests. The restaurant had a high noise level as well.

Jose, our waiter, was terrific! Very attentive and friendly. My soup was tepid in temp, although delicious. My portion of the gnocchi with the cherry tomatoes — which was billed as a main course — was too small to be in this category. It was very good (and warm too!) but it is more of an appetizer. I was hungry when I finished dinner. It was Spring break, and our friends like to dine on the early side, so the place was filled with very noisy families — lots of kids!!! Advise dining after 7:30 to avoid this if it’s break week or summer. Overall, loved emphasis on seasonal ingredient in the menu.

A most enjoyable evening! The staff was quite welcoming, and provided us with a very special table for a very special birthday. Once seated next to the fireplace, we were welcomed with a glass of sparkling, and enjoyed a leisurely sip before engaging the waiter with our menu selections. Everything came to us with perfect timing, and there was no rush to leave after a complimentary sorbet dish was served. Overall, the meal was spectacular, and the experience was perfect. We will be back.

We have been coming to the Valley Kitchen for over four years and the dining has always been suburb! This visit however something had noticeably changed (new management, or maybe a change in chef) and the whole experience was different.
To start, the waitress (who seemed annoyed to be at work) did not review the menu with us, or discuss the daily specials (which is something that always occurred in the past) instead we had to inquire on one of her quick stops by our table. Her explanation was brief and only a few words, so we weren’t sold on why the specials were, special!
The food, once it arrived, was just ok and largely under seasoned. My husband’s potatoes had a strange metallic taste and had to be sent back. The filet I ordered had virtually no salt on it and the red wine jous was no where to be found. This is such a departure from the food we have tasted in the past - so were really disappointed.
We hate to say it, but will have to think twice about dining at the kitchen again. At $160 for two adults and a child the whole meal/experience was just not worth it...

We had friends in town for the weekend and had a wonderful dinner at the Valley Kitchen.
My husband and I shared a crab cake, the ceviche and a beet salad and our friends shared the goulash and Caesar salad. All were delicious. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that I wish they offered more entrees that were lighter. They have only 1 fish entree, which is a special that the night we went I did not care for.
Our waiter was Robert and he was fantastic.
It was a beautiful night and we ended it roasting marshmallows at the fire pits by the pool

Very weird Huevos rancheros.
Who puts raw cabbage on top of hot eggs. ....
my friend’s burger was over cooked well.
Obviously a new cook at lunch.
Just be sure to ask your server about any changes in the menu.
Service was perfect.

Horrible experience. Requested table was given to someone else for no obvious reason. Had to wait one hour to get a table. Bus boy never returned with a slice of lemon. Took them another almost an hour to bring the food only to discover that the waitress botched the order: brought sea bass instead of salmon. Then took them another 30 minutes to fix it only then the salmon came with no promised sides. HORRIBLE! All went wrong! Stay away!!!!!

We enjoyed our meals. We shared appetizer of ceviche and had roasted pork, lamb loin entrees, both very nicely done with good cheesy polenta and potatoes...good value for a heavy meal. The wine by the glass was reasonable and good, as was chocolate chip cookies for dessert. However, two single espressos ran us $14! Bizarre.

We were looking forward to dining here, but unfortunately our experience did not match our expectations. The restaurant is expensive, but the food is mediocre at best. I had a sea bass which was decent. Others had the lamb, described as not good and scallops that were rated OK. The wait staff was nice, but inexperienced. To the good, they were reasonably attentive.

The biggest problem aside from quality of the food vs. the cost was the ambiance. The restaurant has all hard surfaces so noise is a problem. That coupled with many poorly behaved children, including one equipped with a flashlight that was shined everywhere, including in our eyes resulted in chaotic unrelaxing experience. For a while, I thought I had been transported to Chucky Cheese. In any case we won’t be returning. There are many better places in the area to spend your money.

The chef created a very special 4 course prix fix tasting menu for Valentines Day. Not only was each course excellent, but it all came at a very reasonable price considering most restaurants take advantage of couples on this holiday. One of the courses even included caviar! The restaurant actually allowed diners to choose between the tasting menu and their regular menu. As I looked around, most tables opted for the regular menu; they missed a fabulous one time tasting and didn’t really save any money doing it! Too bad, but keep up the good work, we’ll definitely return.
