Described as a sanctuary for taste buds, The Upton in Scottsdale, AZ was opened to offer unique American cuisine and classic cocktails in a low-key setting and with attentive service. The menu has been inspired by global dishes as well as iconic American ingredients, and chef Chris Schlattman creates a seasonal array of dishes that pair well with the choices from the bar.
The dinner menu for The Upton will always include shareable choices like the crispy confit duck wings or the Chinese ribs. There are fun pressed sandwiches like the NYC turkey pastrami or the charred green tomato sandwich. There are bao buns and innovative entres such as Barbie doll risotto and a miso vegan ramen as well as meat and seafood dishes. Salads and sides complete the options on The Upton menu, proving it has something for everyone.

Great atmosphere. Wonderful service. Food was good enough, but not anything special. Great spot to grab brunch before hitting the day club. Bottomless mimosas!
From our first experience with the host , our waiter with his dirty finger nails, sloppily dressed male wait staff & decor being sub par at best- I would be hard pressed to return again. Food was good but did not have the wow factor it needs to survive.
The restaurant has a nice setting with tables along the wall and 2 doors that open up to the outdoor yards. It wasn't hot that day but we stay indoor. The food are good. The appetizers are very tasty, from the mussels to the chinese xiu bbq and the salad. The entrees are just as excellent with the scallops and asparagus done just right, the salmon and veggies tasty, the steak and the tacos done just right. Our outing would be nicer if service is better. The waiter is slow and not focusing on his diners and do a lot of running around. We spent over 2 and a half hour at the restaurant and left without having desserts.
We would recommend this restaurant only because of its good food.
No wonder it is closed... apparently I am not the only one who had this opinion.
Very cool spot. Not your conventional place to grab a bite. Reminds me of chill joint you'd find in Portland or Seattle.
The outdoor vibe of this restaurant was lovely. It was a hot day, but the shade provided was adequate. The food portions in this restaurant give new meaning to small. It was a very expensive brunch for four people that would have barely feed two people. The food was tasty but it was not exceptional. I would not recommend.
I have dined at the Upton at least 4 or 5 times. The food is very good. The value is exceptional. The ambience is very romantic while being fun and lively. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Very good food and service at reasonable prices. The chines ribs were a delicious appetizer and the scallops with beet risotto were tender and tasty. The grilled salmon was cooked perfectly. The wine list is ample and a Happy Hour bargain.
We went for happy hour and literally got one of everything on the food menu. Everything was delicious, but some of the standouts were the mason jar salad, the chicken bao bun, the cauliflower, and the meat/cheese board.
