The Union Kitchen (Memorial Dr)
Chopped salad is very good
Always a pleasure eating at The Union Kitchen. Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner, always a treat.
I love the atmosphere, fast service and staff. The manager welcome us with a laugh and his dancing. It was a wonderful night with our friends. I would come back here anytime.
Great service, unfriendly hostess. I food was good and the waitress did an excellent job recommending dishes.
Great service and meal. The avocado crab was very nice and the cod sandwich and shrimp salad were both cooked perfectly. Thank you for being such a versatile quality establishment.
Good restaurant American Food, good service and good value
We have been to this Union Kitchen before, and it was better then. While the quality of the food was about the same this time, and the attentiveness of the server was good, apparently the kitchen staff was much poorly organized and trained. They brought incorrect dishes to the table, brought entree’s mere minutes after serving appetizers and salads, etc. Not really sure what the root cause was. It was early in the evening prior to peak occupancy. We will give it another chance in October.
We hadn’t been there in a few years. Our server was wonderful and gave us some suggestions to try. We went on a Groupon so the value was awesome. Food was just as good as I remember!
our server was fantastic. don't know his name, a young man serving in the back room. he came by often, refilled glasses, smiled and had the best disposition. everyone loved their food, pork chop. stuffed pork chop. the meat loaf I ordered looked great but was so bland. it needed something more than the attractive plating and blah gravy. like peppercorn sauce. I ate 3 bites. first time in last decade there got something tasteless. my experience there is always great and thank you for giving our party of 5 a round top. I have another reservation for lunch Oct 5 to celebrate a birthday. thanks for our overall pleasant experience.
Loud din only drawback if business type of lunch
It was quiet being a Monday evening. The food was great. Everything be enjoyed their meals. The only potential negative was that they were out of a few entrees but it didn’t really impact our choices for dinner.
This is one of our go to restaurants, consistently good set and conform food. Our server was excellent
We enjoy the ambiance at Union Kitchen. The staff is amazing! We have never had a bad server and all of the employees seem to enjoy their job. Of course, the food is very good! Their mini corn breads with the flavored butter are amazing! We mostly go for brunch but have been there once for dinner. Love the place!
Heidi, capably assisted by other UK staff, was an AMAZING server. She provided our family an exquisite birthday experience we’ll always cherish!
Always great food, staff and atmosphere! HIghly recommend!
Food and service was excellent. I highly recommend the Diver Scallop's. Great evening.
Union Kitchen is our go-to place for dinners with the extended family. Friday we had a lovely evening as always, visiting with my brother and sister-in-law in town for the weekend. The food was plentiful delicious as always - and the menu is extensive enough to have something to please everyone, even the picky eaters. The kitchen was responsive to special requests and dietary restrictions. Our favorites include the crab cakes, pork chop, scallops and salmon. As for dessert, my husband is a key lime pie aficionado, and Union Kitchen’s passes his taste test!
Food was excellent but the service was horrible and they were not even busy
Everything was great.... excellent food and service. 😁
First time diner at Union Kitchen. Met an old college friend and we enjoyed sharing memories and two bottles of wine before and over dinner. Food was excellent (trout special was superb). The desserts provided a very nice conclusion to a fine evening. Union Kitchen did not disappoint from the service to the food and wine. Thank you for a very pleasant evening!
Excellent food and great not to say above excellent service.
Food was tasty, promptly served and wait service exceptional
Kudos to Ian P. for his energy, enthusiasm and great attitude while waiting the table. Please let
Ian is the best server ! Makes the experience the best it can be.
It started off great...then the food came. We ordered off of the HRW MENU and it was blah! There was no taste and I couldn’t even finish my food! The steak was so cheap and lacked flavor. My FIL ordered stuff shrimp and they were out! Then the dessert came...omg! The pound cake was dry and had no taste either. Me...who always finishes her food couldn’t even finish dinner nor dessert. We did not enjoy it at all. Super bummed because we were so excited! My one child ordered the grilled chicken and he couldn’t even chew it.... After our dessert came...we ate as much as we could and just sat there for an additional 30mins waiting for our check. We almost fell asleep waiting for our waitress to come back. She was super nice but with the food tasting so bad and us waiting forever for our check, we were just done with the place we were ready to leave.
Never going back. Food wasn’t cooked properly. Bad shellfish.
Alex did a wonderful job constantly making sure that we were comfortable and happy. The fundue, surf and turf, and finally end with desert really hit the spot.
It was restaurant week and food was sub-par. Steak was terrible cut of meat. Pound cake tasted like frozen Sara Lee cake. Bar was out of some of the ingredients to make happy hour drinks.
The food was terrible. We went for restaurant week and they served a shrimp and crab fondue. I dined with 4 other friends who ordered the same thing for appetizer. Everybody’s came out with chunks of shrimp except mine. When I let the manager know she proceeded to tell me that nobody should have shrimp because the shrimp should be puréed into the fondue... I had steak for my entree and it had to be the weirdest cut of meat I have ever seen. It looked like a think breakfast pork chop. The food was so terrible that 2 of my friends gave me there whole entree to give away to the homeless. I was so disappointed because the reviews were good on yelp.. I’m not sure if maybe they went the cheap route for restaurant week but I will never try this place again based on that experience.. on a good note the bartender was awesome and made great drinks!
Great place to eat.. wish it wasn't a casual spot because the food is not casual it's very classy.
First time here and Harris was our service. He did an amazing job and recommended great choices. I will come back again if it’s always this friendly and welcoming.
We had a Groupon which was honored without hesitation Everything was great!
Great food as always.
This was my first time visiting The Union Kitchen (Memorial Dr). Our waitress Barbara was outstanding and the food was amazing.
EXCELLENT service!!! Manager was VERY attentive and acknowledge an anniversary we were having!! Waitress was exceptional! Thoroughly enjoyed our visit! I think we were the last ones to leave!!!
Great location, great service, great food, great ambiance
I've always wanted to try The Union Kitchen and decided to try the Memorial location for Houston Restaurant Weeks based on their menu. The food was great and the service was excellent. Derrick our waiter was superb. I will definitely be back
Great service, great atmosphere!
Great place to get together with friends. Great menu selections for Houston Restaurants Weeks.
My husband and I each ordered med rare steaks. Steaks came out well done. Service was none existent. Had to flag down people to place orders. We arrived at 5:30pm to meet my in-laws and didn’t leave till 9:45pm. We were trying to have a quick early dinner. It was a nightmare! I will never go back.
We arrived and were seated promptly and waited upon very quickly. Unfortunately 2 very large groups came in and the service suffered. The Houston Restaurant Week menu was very good. The crab cake was excellent. Probably one of the best crab cakes I've had.
