The Bellaire Blvd location is quite the scene on Sundays for lunch. It's become a hot spot for West U, Southside and Braes Heights residents. A great local eatery with a mostly "Southern Style" menu. Several benedicts to choose from plus chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak, carnitas, seafood tacos, hangar steak, shrimp and grits, multiple salads and a variety of sandwiches. The kicker is the mimosa selection with refills for a penny. The service is very friendly and quite competent and they seem to cover the large crowd with ease; very attentive. There are lots of families with mostly well behaved kids as well as a great cross section of millennial couples to baby boomers. Everyone seems to be having a great time.
I have been to Union Kitchen several times and each time the food was terrific and delish. I recommend checking out this little Bellaire gem.
It was my very first time eating there and everything was beyond my expectations, the muffins were delicious, the mimosas were good, our waiter was very nice and he made sure he took care of us, most definitely coming back
I went to lunch with former co-workers. We all enjoyed it because of the great service and good food. I would recommend the Bellaire location highly. It was worth the drive for me. We all plan to return. You get excellent value at this restaurant.
OMG! I can't stop raving about The Union Kitchen Bellaire! It was everything you would want to experience in a restaurant. The staff especially was super great! Our Server (Claudia) and the General Manager (Tony) made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Good service is so hard to come by these days but the staff at The Union Kitchen reminded me that there are still great people out there who are willing to give great service. The food was delicious too! Hats off to everyone over there, you guys are phenomenal! Keep up the great work!!!
They were less than half full. Short staffed. The bartender waited on us. Food was ok but not up to their usual standards. Hope this is not the start of a downhill slide.
Excellent meal. I had the tuna and bok choy dish and my husband had the chicken and pasta dish. Our server was wonderful. (He usually works the bar where we usually like to sit, but no spots were available.)
Neighborhood gem. Great drinks, great food, great service.
We had a great meal and experience. The manager and staff worked to satisfy every possible need and we will be back.
The staff is very attentive, helpful and kind. Much appreciated. And the menu choices are great. We definitely are regulars.
Was quite disappointed with the food which was mediocre, presentation was careless. Was more disappointed with the service which seemed haphazard with three different servers , never knew if one was actually assigned to us. Was most disappointed that, although the host at the door asked if I was Susan, the server came and asked if we wanted separate checks and looked totally unaware when I said to bring me the check. This led to the awkward discussion about who pays which I wanted to avoid as this was a farewell luncheon for a friend. On my reservation, I had specifically requested that the check be brought to me. I had taken two nieces to the Memorial location in September, the food and service were great. If a meal at Union Kitchen is in my future, I would choose that location.
