The Union Kitchen (Bellaire)
The restaurant charged us for one drink we didn’t have and honored happy hour pricing on one item, but not another. When asked about it, they just seemed confused about the happy hour issue. They did remove the extra drink but it was a hassle. They marked us as a no show on opentable for some reason. We go here a lot but this sort of thing is off putting when not handled correctly.
Was fantastic as always. Food was wonderful, service was great, can’t say enough good things about one of our favorite spots to eat!!!
Stopped doing bottomless mimosas
Visited during a storm and there was a power outage. Staff handled it well and gave everyone $10 their next meal. The food was okay, but the mimosas were better.
A great neighborhood place. Food and service were good
The Union Kitchen was lovely. We sat outside. I would have enjoyed a little bit more fans out there and a little quieter band. I did not try the food. I had a red wine that was not good for my taste but had a vodka/soda water that was perfect.
The roasted beet with goat cheese salad is AMAZING! Union Kitchen has a terrific variety on their menu and they execute well!
we look forward to returning as the dining experience was impeccable and very personal!!!!
The best croissant I’ve eaten in two years in the USA. Made in house everything was delicious. Owner Rob helped us sort out a little issue with our open table voucher. Best breakfast. Would definitely recommend!!
Blue fin tuna dish was excellent! Love dining at the bar.
One of my new favorite spots. The staff and atmosphere make you feel special and the food never disappoints.
Food was good, but service was incredibly slow. Highlights were drink specials for brunch.
Wonderful food. Great service. Delightful experience.
Sitting on the patio near the fountain, we could hardly hear each other. The food was good and service great and we had a good time even though we had to shout at each other.
Slow service w average food.
If you expect and want
Servers ignored me to continue opening the restaurant after 10am like cleaning mirrors and setting things up. My coffee and my food was very cold. We were only ones there at first and it still took over 10 min for someone to take our order. I liked the menu, but for the price could do oh so much better in Houston. I won’t return.
I misplaced my receipt to remember the server’s name but he was wonderful and very attentive as we ordered a “carafe” of sangria that turned out to be slightly larger to our delight. It was so full when he brought it to the table that I was afraid to pick it up to pour from it, and he saw that and was right there to do it for us. And might I add how tasty the sangria was!!! It was the perfect treat for the end of a busy work week that often takes me until Saturday to get fully past
We had a large party and the restaurant was very accommodating. Everyone enjoyed their food.
Awesome experience Rob along with the rest of his staff made it a great experience for my me and my family! Highly recommend.
Food and drink, and service, are always excellent at the UK. We are regulars because of their consistency and fun environment.
The lobster grilled cheese sandwich was pretty good, the tomato bisque it came with was too salty. My husband said his chicken was over-cooked. Cute restaurant. We'll probably be back to try the brunch.
Jack is the greatest waiter on the face of the planet. The food is very tasty and the bar has a great selection of beers.
I was very underwhelmed by the entire experience. Usually, this is my go to "easy" brunch spot. Today, the service was slow during a seemingly slow brunch time. Half of our orders were wrong. We couldn't find our waiter to resolve the issue. I was also given mayonnaise when I requested sour cream, and ruined most of my meal. I was then told after the fact that they were out of sour cream. Not at all the usual brunch experience.
Great neighborhood place
There was a group of young girls from a soccer team that were squealing and yelling and keeping up so much noise it was difficult to hold the church fellowship lunch & meeting we were trying to have. Sorry, but we probably won't try your restaurant again for our annual fellowship luncheon. We were trying to stay in the location of the Nursing Home (Gardens of Bellaire) where we serve.
Attentive wait staff. Decent food. Not too crowded when we went for brunch on a Saturday.
The waitstaff at the Union Kitchen ( Bellaire) is so friendly and helpful.
I especially enjoy the salads and fish dishes .
Just one of our favorite neighborhood places still! Sat at the bar, arriving at 5 p.m. to have happy hour and dinner. Eric at the bar was our main man and took good care of us. Started with my favorite Craig’s Mexican Martini and the husband had a beer. As we are Loyalty Club members, we got an appetizer for half price. We love the Lolo Hawaiian Tostada. (Half price was $5!) Still continues to be our favorite appetizer. Zingy, too!
For dinner, I chose the Peggy’s Diver Scallops, also one of my favorites. Love the butternut squash risotto that take center stage with the scallops surrounding the risotto. My husband had the Braised Beef Short Ribs. (I did not have a bite that night, but ate a small portion of leftovers that we brought home and it was delicious! Served with mashed potatoes.)
As always, we will be back!!
Everything about it was great! The food & service was excellent.
Delicious fried Asparagus appetizer! Our entrees where hot, tasty, and came quickly. Server (John) was very attentive to our needs. An enjoyable and lingering evening.
Union Kitchen is a comfortable spot for a casual evening. The food is always good, and the service superb. If the weather is cooperating, side outside for some fresh air. Good variety of both drinks and food. I had the Red Fish and it was wonderful. My wife had the Chicken Parmigiana and she really enjoyed it. We will definitely be back!
Good day of week meal
Loved my lunch!! Robert was so welcoming, we sat
on the patio (which was refreshing!), and my salad was so fresh with great blackened shrimp on it.
I will definitely return.
My love and I had a great time! Delicious food , great drinks
and we caught the end of a football playoff game - Eagles upset win over the Bears!
Good food. Great service. John did an outstanding job serving us.
If you like comfort food... this is the place for you; however, I did find one "healthy" option but paid $24 for a small piece of salmon that only came with a few sprigs of asparagus.
Union Kitchen Bellaire never disappoints! we love this place.
I love my girl and WE love dining here. This was a perfect Christmas season date!
Love the fresh fish and salads!!
Patio seating was tight and loud. Food was lackluster. Such a disappointment compared to their Sunday brunch.
