The Twisted Tuna Ratings and Reviews
Twisted Tuna has nice views right on the water, especially from top floor! Good Bloody Mary and Pina Colada, and Tuna Fish Dip. Mojitos not that good tho. Fish and chips were good, but the shrimp and oyster basket had too much tempura batter; but the Twisted fries were very good. We had excellent service from Darien. She was so attentive and professional with a great personality! (We will go back and try different entres.)
There were eight of us for dinner each one having something different. Each dinner which was brought to the table looked wonderful...from Sushi to shrimp it was all very good.
Noisy? A bit, but remember that this is not the place to go for quiet conversation and romantic candle light. The mood there is young, fresh, vibrant, and yes, a bit on the noisy side at times. However if you want a place that's jumping, with a great band, good food and drinks at lower-than-expected prices you might want to check this place out.
This was our first visit and this is my initial impression-
Pros: 1. Beautiful setting on the intracoastal
2. Excellent service - very friendly hostess and very patient and cheery waitress.
3. Tremendous variety on the menu, including many seafood dishes, landlubber options,
inexpensive/affordable choices as well as more pricey options (there's really
something for everyone!)
Cons: 1. The filet mignon was only fair. The first time they brought it to our table it was
medium when it was supposed to be medium rare. They gladly replaced it with a truly
medium rare filet but the quality of the meat was just fair.
2. The lobster on my Steamed Platter was a bit overcooked (tail was chewy) but two
other people at my table who ordered the same dish said their lobster was good. The
rest of the platter (shrimp, mussels, clams and crab legs) was excellent! All things
considered, the meal was an excellent value.
Overall, I would still recommend The Twisted Tuna and I will definitely return to try many of the other menu items that looked interesting!
Service was terrible at the bar. This reservation meant nothing that I had made. They gave away our reservation and table to a walk in party. After we sat at the bar, then asked if our table was ready. Told it was ready, by the time we payed the bar bill, which again took forever, they had given away our table, to someone who walked In the door. Total b.s. will. Who cares by now how the food was. Poor waitress couldn't make up for the first impression. I do not recommend and will not return. The staff seems to be terribly disorganized and I listened to a waitress ask someone why her order was deleted. Hmm bet someone didn't get a meal in a timely manner as well. This was a Sunday nite folks. Not a busy weekend.
I enjoyed my time at the twisted tuna , it was my first time and the occasion was my birthday ! I loved our seating area ( upstairs) unfortunately the item I ordered on the menu ( Royal Steamed) was unavailable and I was informed after I had placed my order ( I did get something else but was looking forward to my first choice) I did have a good time with my husband and sons so in the end that's all that matters !
Everything was good except a person in our party did not get their meal until everyone else was almost finished and the waiter was not coming back to refill our drinks or to check on our table enough. We have been to TT many times and this is the first time we had problem with service.
All in all it was good time and my husband enjoyed his birthday surprise dinner.
Very bad dinning experience. Restaurant was so cold. Server was slow, frazzled, and distracted. She brought the incorrect drink orders and we felt ignored at times. Food was served in shifts and it was cold. My daughter and I received our meals a good ten minutes after the rest of our party.
I would not recommend this restaurant.
Food was great, so many choices. Only issue was teying to visit with friends. So difficult, you had ro yell across the table. Everyone in out group had finished eating by the time I got my food and my salad was swimming in dressing.
We had a family get together for the holidays. My wife and I eat at the bar quite often but this night we made reservations for 6 and they sat us upstairs. We were very pleased since it was quiet and calm for our gathering. Val was our server and she was wonderful. Food was also great, everyone enjoyed what they ordered.
This was our first visit to The Twisted Tuna. Two of us were local and four were out of town. Everyone was delighted with the food, service, and ambiance! The food was very tasty, well presented, and the service was exceptional. Somewhat noisy but not so much that you couldn't hear the people at your table. The location on the water adds an extra visual pleasure. We will be visiting this place again and again!!
I was very excited to finally eat at The Twisted Tuna. When we walked in we were told to go upstairs where the reservations were at, to find out they didn't have my reservation from OpenTable and having to track up and down the restaurant was not a good start. The food was good. The ambiance upstairs was totally different then downstairs. Upstairs is relaxed and quiet. Downstairs is like a bar.
Went here with family, we were a total of 9, they sat us in the upstairs dining room, and it was great. Would be a good place to host a party. Food was good.
They were having a bikini contest, so it was a little bit loud, but not an issue.
We enjoyed the ambiance.
If in the area, we would definitely go back.
