Exceptional service!! Our server recommended excellent choices the entire evening and made our dining experience one of the best! As he recommended, I strongly recommend the shrimp and grits. Sorry Charleston, SC… the Twisted Tail has the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever tasted. This place is a hidden gem!
We were looking for a restaurant after attending the flower show. What a find. It was so so good.
Would love it if you could have more vegan options. Love the drinks.
Always fantastic with great food, drinks and service
Went for an impromptu date night and loved it! Cocktails were delicious, food was fantastic and service was great! They were very attentive - the manager even came out to address my food allergies which I really appreciated!
We loved it - thank you. Ambiance, food, location, vibe--all just right.
Thank you Elaine. We are glad that you had a great time and look forward to seeing you back again soon!
One of my favorite spots..... and the smoked crawfish & mac 🤩🤩🤩
Twisted Tail was excellent! The food is meant to be shared family style, which was awesome because we wanted to try everything on the menu. The entrees are a good portion, and we ended up taking some home. We loved the cocktails and the bartender even made a delicious mock tail! They even offer several whiskey flights!
My wife took me here on my birthday for dinner and to taste some whiskeys. The food was excellent, particularly my grilled salmon with eggplant my wife’s fried chicken. There was also a blues duo playing in the background, which added to the experience without dominating it.
What really made the night special was the excellent service we received, and, especially, the time the owner, George, spent with us recommending whiskeys based on what we liked, talking about his restaurant, and how he acquired the bottles.
We live almost an hour away, but we’ll definitely be back.
Thank you for your comments. I look forward to hosting you again, whenever you are in town. George.
We came for restaurant week and loved everything! The atmosphere, the location, and the food was amazing. The 2 man band was awesome too
Wonderful menu choices for Restaurant Week! Live music was a plus. Distanced seating helped keep the noise level down. Appreciated the attentive service and welcoming from the manager.
We went for Restaurant Week and the menu was awesome! So many choices and everything was so good. The heirloom tomato salad dressing was delicious and the burrata was so good! I also got the chorizo taco, which was a bit spicy, but yummy! The cilantro "sauce" that came with it was soooo good! I also had the flank steak and a beignet and no complaints! The cocktail menu was varied and our cocktails were delicious! Our server was a little overwhelmed, but the manager stepped in and made sure our visit was great. I would definitely return.
Came here for restaurant week. It was a bit busy so the hostess told us a table had to get bussed but that we could wait outside and she would get us when the table was ready. After 10 mins, we popped back in to see if the table was ready, but another group was already sitting where the hostess told us she would put us. So we waited another few minutes while they cleaned another table for us. That was the only negative experience. Other than that, the food and our server were great. I had the salmon tartare and the burrata, which were both excellent. The fried chicken was cooked well but could've used more seasoning. For dessert, I had the strawberry rhubarb crumble, which was also good. For drinks, I had the Kool Kat, which was really refreshing and not too strong. Overall, a great dining experience and would definitely come back to try the other dishes.
The ambiance was great and the staff did well enough... however the food was not seasoned at all... the grilled wings were grilled but not seasoned... the steak was cooked well... but not seasoned... the crawfish macaroni and cheese was dry... the beignets were good ... and the basil lemonade was very good
My mom and I went during restaurant week and honestly, I was not impressed with the food at all!! The grilled wings had no flavor, the cornbread was extremely dry, the chicken had little flavor, and the beignets were basic pieces of fried dough. I don’t know if the food tasted like this because they pre-cooked the food and just reheated it or if the food just generally lacked flavor. The only good thing I had was the crawfish macaroni and cheese. Maybe I need to visit when it’s not restaurant week.
Attended restaurant week and everything was amazing! There were 4 courses & plentiful portions. The crawfish mac n cheese & bbq ribs were very tasty. Instead of bread, hot butter popcorn was served. Nice touch.
The service was great. The entire staff was friendly & helpful. Silverware & used plates were replaced immediately.. My blackberry cocktail was delicious. There was so much food - I needed a carry out container for leftovers. Great value. Highly recommended!!
Service was great. Portion size was unbelievable. Could have turned up the level of seasoning for us but otherwise everything was great.
Place is a vibe. Soulful and comfortable. Ambiance and staff delightful
Fried chicken entree is great.
Disappointingly small pour of cocktails.
We had an excellent dinner with friends during restaurant week. The food came out at different times, which was fine. I had the beet salad and mussels. My husband had the hangar steak. Everything was great!
Great spot for a date night. Warm and casual ambiance and delicious food. The beet salad was quite tasty and my waiter told me all about the bourbon and whiskey options. I will definitely return.
We went for restaurant week and i did not feel limited by the menu at all- it was actually REALLY hard to decide bc everything looked delicious. I enjoyed everything, even with the restaurant having run out of the shrimp ceviche that was my #1 choice. We sat outside, and other than one of our tables being a little tippy, it ended up being great bc the noise level really wasn't bad and the evening cooled off to a perfect temp. Our waiter was appropriately attentive and food came out well timed. The panna cotta with pineapple coulis was really good. I would definitely go again!
Was our first time here, and the experience wasn't great, but the manager handled everything, which made the experience better. The food was great, but was very delayed and definitely made the experience worse. However, because of the way things were handled, we will be back.
This was a great outdoor dining experience. Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our food and drinks were great too.
The food was ok. Chicken wings needs a lot more seasoning, they had no taste.
I love the twisted tail. One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Last night was just ok. The music was so so loud. It was very busy due to the restaurant week and service was somewhat affected. Overall, excellent food as always, just the experience wasn’t the greatest.
The food was good, and they were mindful of our food allergies which is much appreciated. The waitress was very friendly too.
First time to Twisted Tail & we were very impressed!
We went for restaurant week and they were out of a few things on the menu and others weren’t as expected (chorizo taco looked like a sausage sandwich), but I would go back to give them another try…the ribs were really good!
Went for restaurant week, they ran out of our choices for the courses but comped our whole meal! I'd definitely return for normal business outside of restaurant week!
Food was really good ! Service was great . Amazing vibe & music
Very nice vibe inside. Well appointed rustic eclectic look. Food portions are on smaller side but were really....really tasty. Servers were super friendly although night we were there service was a little slower than hoped. Only criticism was the live music. Music didn’t fit the theme of restaurant and it was crazy crazy loud. Sorry....but just didn’t fit. Give it a try. You will love the food and won’t be disappointed.
Great meal for our anniversary!
Great happy hour
Our waitress provided very poor service; the kitchen was a little behind.
Mother’s Day Brunch, was delicious the portions was small . I didn’t like sharing the appetizer of 2 lollipop lamb chops nor share the desert for 39.95 person .
they have never failed us! keep it going, George ....
There were 3 of us to celebrate Mothers Day. From the very beginning, the staff was courteous and knowledgeable (pointing out the restrooms prior to us asking). The cocktails were awesome with that noticeable special hand made flair. We very much enjoyed sipping our 1oz special bourbon as well. The food was very delicious and seasoned to perfection. We shared the steak tartar which was one of the best I have had. The grits/cheese was so rich that we could not finish it; but so tasty! Our crab eggs benedict was the best with perfectly poached eggs. The light and airy beignets were the perfect dessert.
Great mothers day service. Place was clean, service was very pleasant and accommodating. My mom had a great time. Will be back!
A nice place for a date night or family dinner. The ambiance and music were great. Service was decent and the food was pretty good.
