Had a great time at Twisted Tail. Good spot for a group of friends. Good food, good service and live music after dinner
Twisted Tail combines a cool ambiance with gourmet food (small plates) and a classy beer and whiskey menu. Really nice staff- great time as we prepped for a concert at TLA. Will be returning again to eat, drink and listen to the music that they have most nights!
Came with a friend awesome food awesome service, we enjoyed brunch here on our last day of a mini vacation visiting from New York
This is an outstanding place. Service, ambiance and quality of feed are first rate. I’ll definitely return.
The food was amazing. Our server Nick was great, perfectly attentive. The restaurant was on top of my husband’s food allergy. The pumpkin churros were delicious. All the food was delicious. The music was good too.
My 65 birthday
Perfect location for Sunday Brunch. Varied creative menu and each thing we ordered was well prepared and presented. The restaurant was not crowded at the time we dined so not sure if it could be noisy experience. All four of us were well pleased.
The meal was good, but service was spotty at best. We requested to of the small plates come out first as a member of our party had to leave early. One came first, the other came dead last, and another dish we ordered never came at all. This is such basic service it is hard for it to not affect our overall experience, trying not to be annoyed
We were celebrating our 33 anniversary. The food was great especially the ribs. We went upstairs after dinner for live music that was very good. All in all we had a great night and look forward to our next visit.
We loved the food and the atmosphere. The blues band that played later in the upstairs Juke Joint was a great time.
very accommodating to gluten free guests with delicious food and timely polite service
We went for restaurant week, and we especially loved the chorizo tacos, whipped ricotta, Berkshire pork, fried chicken, and hanger steak. It’s so hard to pick and choose because everything was so delicious.
Restaurant week menu and the food was fantastic. I will be back again and again. We were all surprised with the size and variety of the courses offered including an heirloom tomato flatbread, beet salad, Leoni burrata, crawfish Mac & cheese, mussels, quail and a to-die-for peach cobbler.
Initially our waiter was (overly) friendly and chatted us up about the restaurant, the neighborhood and the extensive whiskey menu. He insisted that we share everything and even though we told him that we were not sharing, he refused to remove the plates from the table. It also seemed that once he realized we weren’t going to be ordering multiple $40 whiskey tastings, he was no longer interested in being friendly & pretty much ignored us after he dropped the plates for each course. Very strange experience.
Food, service and ambiance were fantastic! Thank you for a great dining experience
Hostess and welcome was accommodating. Food was AMAZING! Service was slow during off peak hours, be very prepared to wait for food.
Got a table outside during restaurant week. Really good variety of options on the special menu which was a great value. Food was very good and the 4 course menu gave us more food than we could even finish. Had to pass up desert. And our server was very fri6 and attentive
Unfortunately, it was restaurant week so the menu was limited and my favorites were not offered. Server took our 4 course per person order very efficiently noting who got what. However when the meal was served, 2 courses per person came out at once. There were 6 of us and the people who delivered the food had no idea who ordered what. They barely knew what they were serving. The small table was piled with plates. It was very chaotic. I never got my salad served to me. Someone else at the table ate it. All in all a big disappointment. Never again during restaurant week. The hostess couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating making our change from 4 ppl to 6 ppl on a busy Saturday night happen. We left when the music started. That was the best part of the evening.
The Crawfish Mac and cheese and quail legs alone would have me coming back again and again.
Food was delicious, they had a one man band. Cool vibe.
For the most part the food was pretty good, the salmon both me and a friend ordered still was a bit under cooked in the center, and the dessert left a lot to be desired, but the other courses were delightful.
Went for restaurant week, everything was delicious and the portions were pretty big. Got sat on time and the service was great. Overall no complaints
Love this place! My friends and I went for restaurant week and the food, service and ambience were wonderful. Plus the live music is a very good added bonus. Will definitely return.
Great food and ambiance. Took great care of my friend and I's food allergies/diet.
$35 dinner for Restaurant week. Tomato heirloom flatbread, crawfish Mac n Cheese, Wings, Berkshire Porkchop, and Hanger Steak with chimichurri sauce was all amazing
It was our first visit to Twisted Tail during restaurant week and we could not be happier with everything. The drinks were amazing, the food was all extremely well-prepared, delicious, and paired and portioned perfectly. I recommend approaching this restaurant as if it were tapas and getting as many items to share as possible. Some highlights/favorites of ours from their menu are as follows:
Burrata- delicious app, small but perfect that way, paired excellently with sauces
Quail- the quail was small but the flavor was phenomenal, smoked and garlicy- delicious!
By far our favorite little dish was the heirloom tomato flatbread, they do a twist on the traditional bread flatbread by creating a crust that is crunchy and reminiscent of a cracker and preparing it with FRESH heirloom - I’m talking straight-out-of-the-garden flavors- tomatoes and an avocado-based sauce. Everyone at the table was jealous of this plate and I wasn’t sharing more than a bite!
Our large entrees were the hanger steak and the fried chicken, which were both exquisite. Hanger steak can turn some people off because they think it’ll be tough or over-cooked, it is absolutely the furthest from either. Cooked perfectly at medium rare and sliced thinly this steak was moist and delicious and so were the fingerling potatoes it was prepared with. The fried chicken was done to the perfect temperature, moist, flavorful, and seasoned with honey as well as a few other things that paired perfectly for that southern feel.
Overall excellent restaurant, service and ambiance.
* My only “complaint” was that our server forgot both our ham and our cheese board entree, so we didn’t get to try either, which is why the Service only received 4 stars, but I’d give 4.5 if I could as this was my ONLY “complaint”
We are foodies and we LOVED this place. The French toast was to die for - my husband is a total breakfast food snob and he keeps talking about it. The cheeseburger was delicious as was the avocado & bacon w/fried egg dish. Can't wait to go back. Absolutely delicious!
Charismatic server led our group of five through bourbon, scotch, whiskey, and food selections while the blues duo rocked it on. After dinner drinks and shuffleboard upstairs. Thoroughly enjoyable.
This is not your everyday pub food. Incredible selection and great tasting food. After appetizers, went upstairs and had dinner while listening to an amazing live jazz band. Will definitely go back!
Great small plates. Fantastic service. Recommend twisted tail for date nights!
Excellent food, really enjoyed everything!!!
What a great experience! The place is so unique and the upstairs dining is relaxing and comfortable. The music Saturday night was amazing and so was the food!
We had a few dietary restrictions which were addressed very well by the manager and our waitperson. Food was great, fun vibe, would definitely return.
Atmosphere and music was great. Food made us sick. Possibly scallops.
-Food was great - but not affordable given the portions
-Drinks were great - but not affordable given the quality
-Restaurant was really hot; AC was broken
-Requested seat in front of band and were put in the back. Really didn't mind the back all that much but would have liked to have been told our request could not be fulfilled.
- Seating a little close to surrounding patrons
Always good food and ambiance. I come here often first time disappointed in service
We were promptly seated outside as requested on a beautiful day. However, service was awful to say the least. I had to go find a waitress to bring coffee after asking multiple times. For 4 of us each item ordered came out separately. I asked to order a side of sweet potato has since the crab cake didn't come with anything and was told no. One omelette cane out cold and undercooked. They did remove that from the bill and remake it. I asked for additional crostinis for the whipped ricotta and we were told it's made to order and would be a few minutes. No problem since service was already awful and only one of us had our entree. We got our entrees but even after being told the crostini were on there way that never arrived. Very over priced for awful service and mediocre food at best. A truly disappointing experience.
Crab cakes were super as was the shrimp and grits.
Made a reservation for my birthday dinner for 6 people. Had to add two more people later on, which was not a problem for the staff. Our server, Rebecca, was great - very welcoming, knowledgeable of the menu, helpful, and prompt. Food was fantastic. Highly recommend!
We come to the place every time we visit Philly. Food is amazing!!! Love it and can’t wait to come again
The twisted tail catered to each person and was an overall amazing dinner. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the Philly area.
