Stayed at the La Posada hotel and decided to have dinner at the Turquoise Room. The greeter and manager were very nice and accommodating, but our wait person was annoyed with us for some reason. The food came out great, so no complaints there. Hence my rating; 5 for food and 1 for service averages out to a 3. If you are in the area or staying at the hotel, I would not hesitate to eat there. The food was outstanding. I think my wait person was just having a bad day. I still tipped well since the others were working hard.

The corn soup was fabulous BUT I ASKED about spice and was told there was none. WRONG. Half the bowl was a spice black bean and it ruined the soup. Waitress couldn’t have cared less. Even made me pay $2.00 for corn bread when I didn’t want the spicy chile bread that came with the lunch

Consistently good food with creative presentations. I dined here last month and brought my sisters this month to enjoy the experience. The wait staff is attentive and informative. I’ll continue to recommend this restaurant to friends and travelers.

The Turquoise Room is a very special historical place. It has so much history. I had the chicken mole and it was excellent. We had breakfast the next morning-the corn maiden, a great polenta egg dish. I always get this, and it was just as I remember it-perfect.

What an outstanding hidden gem! Who would have thought that encased in an old (but beautiful) hotel in little Winslow AZ, would be a restaurant of note. With a chef that has been turning out fresh, locally sourced, genuine southwest recipes for over 20 years - this place (and the hotel) are worth going out of your way for. Put it in your calendar. 😎
