Outstanding flavor and presentation, wonderful service, could not have asked for a better Anniversary
Celebrating an anniversary and would gladly return. Ehjoyed the ambiance of the twins passing through. Thought the room had a shortage of staff as the service was a little bit slow. Overall a very memorable experience!
Service was horrible. Waitress was very slaw and brought food well after it was cold. waitress showed no concern when told her. Manager offered to comp one meal but when it was time to go he did not
We were seated promptly and our waitress came to greet us and take drink orders very quickly. Food was prepared well (elk and bison). Chocolate soufflé was delicious. Everything went very smoothly.
Both breakfast choices were delicious! The Corn Maidens Delight had an amazing blend of flavors over warm corn polenta. Mary Jane’s omelette was light and fluffy with the perfect amount of spinach and mushrooms. Great coffee, fabulous service too. We enjoyed everything about The Turquoise Room and La Posada.
The Turquoise room did not disappoint. Great food, eclectic choices with local influences. Reasonable wine prices and cocktails. Excellent Ginger and Gin martini!
La Posada is a grand old Harvey House and it surpassed all my expectations. The Turquoise Room evoked memories of what it might have been like in the 1930s to travel through the southwest by rail. Our server was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed every dish, and especially relished the house specialty soup and the double chocolate dessert. The tables were spaced a safe distance apart, the staff were wearing masks and they were taking appropriate safety measures. They even took our temperature before they let us enter the dining room.
Great old dining room in the landmark La Posada Hotel in Winslow
Always amazing! Never disappoints. Just sorry there weren’t squash blossoms but because of that we were forced to try a different app and wow were the meatballs delicious! Will always go back.
One of my favorite stay-cation locations. It is easy to relax and forget the hectic world. The food is so imaginative and tasty. The staff is very friendly and efficient but know how to let you enjoy your dining experience without hovering.
Table by the window to watch the trains. Great Service and fabulous food!
Was excellent as usual although on my shrimp dish the corn was cut a little too close to the cob.
The food was amazing! I would definitely eat there again!
the restaurant could compete with many San Francisco locations. We ate at the Turquoise Room for three dinners and three breakfasts. Outstanding selection, preparation and presentations. A real treat after not been in restaurant since February. Also absolute comfort with attention to Covid issues. Wait staff is friendly and professional.
Excellent all the way around. Would highly recommend it 👌
It is always a culinary delight to dine at the Turquoise Room. Unique menu and always a lovely presentation.. and breakfast is outstanding!!!
Very pleasant visit to the TR during these challenging times. Food was outstanding. My biggest regret was not taking a picture of the signature bean and corn soup before I destroyed the signature artfully adoring the surface. Picture the dining room initials and a string of hearts. The presentation truly elevated an already fabulous set of flavors.
Had the Shrimp Pasta to follow - TR chef knocked it out of the park.
We’d made reservations as we love coming to the restaurant. The food & atmosphere are always excellent. This visit was a little disappointing . It won’t prevent us from returning — BUT
As our appetizer we ordered Spanish - Arizona Tapas with a
side dish of house-pickled organic carrots, jicama, and fennel. At the early seating of 5;00pm you were already out of the side & there was no substitution or difference in price or apology . We’d asked for some of your delicious homemade breads to go with our meal. We would buy them- we were just told you are no longer serving!!! Very disappointing
We ordered as one entree the Grilled Chicken Breast with Tomatillo Sauce and Tamale- excellent! The second entree : Classic Petite Filet Pepper Steak, again was excellent. We ended the meal with Warm Bread Pudding
My thought is-a few items need improvement — if you wish to remain as a destination stop.
Thank You for the great ambiance and it is a time we will remember forever..
My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and I think we ate in the restaurant 4-5 times. It was excellent! We will be back in the future.
The Turquoise Room has struck a balance between service and COVID-19 safety that I truly appreciate! We enjoyed our experience, the food and the atmosphere. Keep up the good work’!
Turquoise Room is amazing! You haven’t lived until you’ve tried the signature soup.
This is our favorite place to eat, for all meals. Breakfasts are outstanding, as are dinners. The open dining room felt safe and it was obvious that the management takes covid19 preparations seriously. Food, service, presentation, environment were all excellent. It was especially nice to be able to order a takeout lunch this time. Thanks to all!
Delightful old-fashioned ambience. Came for dinner and stayed for breakfast. Interesting menu of modernized southwestern dishes. Nicely presented. The fried squash blossom appetizer was an excellent starter followed by melt -in-the- mouth elk medallions. Don’t forget dessert; perhaps bread pudding or Harvey Girls pie. Breakfast was fun and a difficult choice. Green chili potatoes add zip to the eggs but not overly spicey. And most importantly- excellent coffee.
We had the Tapas for a starter. They were very good but the Tapa Bars in Miami do a better job with a far greater variety of choices. We had soup for the second course. The bean on one half and cream corn on the other half of the bowl (signed by the chef) was absolutely magnificent. I have never had better even at Michelin Star restaurants in Europe. Do not miss out on the soup. Don't share, get a bowl each. The elk steaks in a pomegranate reduction was something I have never had before. It was so good that I wished I could have eaten more but the portion was just perfect which left a slight bit of room for dessert. The freshly baked pie with a scoop of gelato (had to share it) was a perfect ending of and unforgettable culinary experience.
We went up to enjoy Chef John's last nights of heading up the Turquoise Room menu. Other than having to wait to be seated well past our reservation time, we settled on a table at a lobby window because by then the wonderful Navajo guitarist had started. The signature soup and the appetizer meatballs were amazing. We shared the vegetable plate entree as a second course and it was spectacular. We enjoyed the elk medallions and the bison shortrib and of course also had the chocolate brownies and prickly pear bread pudding. It was quite a feast. We can only hope the future of this restaurant continues after Chef John is gone. It's a fabulous and unique menu!
VERY disappointed the 2 things I was looking forward to eating which were on the online menu they didn’t have !!! Heirloom Tomato Salad & Beef medallions. Caesar Salad was ok too much dressing & Calamari Appetizer was good. Slow service as Waitress was busboy / table sanitizer/ order delivery they need more help . Room was freezing several of us complained . Skipped dessert because it was too cold in the room & service was so slow .
The best place to celebrate a special occasion ever!
As always the experience met our expectations. Even given the pandemic-mandated procedures were handled delicately and professionally. Our server April was terrific, the food was as usual delectable. We know the owners have said that things will remain the same with chef John retiring and we hope that's true. We make the 90-minute drive from Show Low regularly and happily and would like to continue doing so.....
Worth your time and money. I’m grateful that I don’t live closer because I’d be so tempted to eat there every day.
This was a special trip to La Posada and the Turquoise Room on the occasion of the pending retirement of Chef John Sharpe. This was also our first time there in the age of COVID. All precautions were in place, temperatures taken on dining room entry and all staff in masks and gloves. Tables were spaced appropriately, menus and napkins were paper; everything sanitized between table use. Service and food was excellent as always. We started with the fried stuffed squash blossoms which are still excellent. We then shared the beef filet au poivre; also excellent and hard to find anywhere. We finished with the unique Fred Harvey apple and berry pie - also excellent. Fortunately, La Posada will take over the Turquoise Room and the kitchen and serving staff will remain. Chef John has created a culinary oasis in the high desert. We look forward to it remaining so as La Posada and the Turquoise Room are worthy of a special trip.
Was at La Posado for my wife's birthday. A wonderful atmosphere, great food and great service. One of our best get-aways in our marriage.
Enjoyed dinner at the Turquoise Room with excellent food, great service and pleasant ambience. The hotel and gallery are treasures too. Well worth the time!
Great job doing with the current Covid issues. Very safe
What a wonderful experience. Loved the precautions taken for CO-VID. Lots of space between the tables...and cute little private eating spaces in the lobby. All of our food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. A great memory for us and our friends who enjoyed a charming little overnight getaway. Thank you!
As always, dining at La Posada is a wonderful, nourishing experience. The food--especially sauces, seasonings--are delicious and delightful. Thank you!
Dinner was great! We had a party of 6 friends who met there and everyone enjoyed their meal. The margaritas were excellent and so was the service!
We are repeat diners at the Turquoise Room and it never disappoints. The service was excellent, the wide variety of entrees, coupled with the chef’s use of local ingredients made our dinner experience exceptional.
Went for breakfast. The food was great and the atmosphere was very nice. They’re doing a great job dealing with keeping everybody safe regarding the pandemic.
Your staff and the food was excellent as always. My only complaint is that an item was taken off of the menu, which happened to be one of our absolute favorite items.
