I loved the vibe and the food was great. My husband and I had a great time on our date. We plan to come back very soon!
Great to grab food or drinks before a movie !
Everything was very salty. Bar service was exceedingly slow especially in light of the few number of patrons present. Rib appetizer very good, Reuben croquettes just Ok. Brussels sprouts were undercooked. Wagyu burger large and tasty.
Loved it! The food was great, the service was quick, and the drinks were tasty.
I was more than underwhelmed when we arrived to our reservation. I booked a table for 11 and was given a high top for 8. They were understaffed, so that of course impacted the service we received. Food was fine, drink selection is fine. However, my biggest gripe would be how unprepared they were to receive us, that is the point of a reservation.
This was my 3rd time visiting the Tuck Room on Westheimer and I can honestly say each time it gets worst. This is a beautiful restaurant but unfortunately the service is the worst. There were a number of vacant tables (I counted 5) that could not be used because they had not been cleaned. We sat at the table for 9 minutes before a server even came to acknowledge us. Not sure why this place cannot seem to get it right, there appears to be a sufficient staff to customer ratio. On top of the lack of customer service, the food and drinks were not of the quality for the prices they were charging for. Not sure how the exact same meal can be $5 on the happy hour menu and $19 on the regular menu. Needless to say, I will not be dining here again.
This place is more of a quick drinks before a movie in IPics. It’s literally in the cinema.
It’s not a fancy speak easy cocktail bar as their website claims. The drinks were okay! Some of the cocktails were very sweet and the food was average.
Went on a Thursday night and was very dead! I reserved a table for 10 and the staff weren’t really bothered checking for our reservation since it was so empty. In fact they asked us to coordinate pulling seats together which I refused and requested them to do that!
The taste of the food was terrible, poor quality for the price, very expensive for a very small portion.
Not bad but not good. The food tasted fine but there were a lot of service issues that made it less than a good experience. For example, we were greeted promptly by a waiter who asked for drink orders but we asked for a minute to look at the menu so he left and didn't come back for a long time. He then just took food orders without asking about drinks again. The appetizers/salads and the entrees were then delivered to the table all at the same time. Desserts were brought to the table without silverware and the server quickly turned and left after dropping them off, so we had to find someone else to get silverware for us. Hopefully they can straighten out the service issues to bring up to the level of the food and environment.
We stopped in for a quick bite before our movie. We were able to take advantage of happy hour pricing on a limited menu, but it was fine for us. The nice part is that you can take your (unfinished) drink into the movie with you.
Definitely not a weekday lunch destination. This would be a super fun place to go before a movie to have a cocktail. But it was a poor experience for lunch. Bummer - the atmosphere is awesome. We were abandoned by the waitress, spent most of the meal without drinks and the food was poor to average. So disappointed.
Everything was perfect!! The food, staff and drinks were amazing!! This will be one of our regular spots from now on.
Love the decor and ambiance. THRILLED that they have a Keto menu; however, their Keto carb counts are off. For example, the menu says that their "Fresh Keto"cocktail is less than 5 net carbs, yet on Malibu Rum's website, they show 11 carbs per 2 oz. Add to that the grapefruit and you're definitely over 5 net carbs. Quite a few items show 0 net carbs, which is VERY wrong: all veggies have carbs, yogurt, lobster, Tzatziki, etc. They need to correct these numbers before the issue become litigious.
On the evening of our girls night visit, there was just one server. She did a great job!
The website was deceptive saying they had a Mothers Day buffett in large print. In small print below that they said LA only. When we got there we were the only ones there and the hostess said they didn’t have our reservation because the previous manager took their open table passwords and they couldn’t connect. The pace was empty so we sat down and looked at the menus. Not what we were looking for. Very simple menu, not for Mother’s Day. It was the same food they serve in the theater down stairs. The staff were very nice. We just didn’t need the extra info about their past manager. We left and went to Tolouse.
The restaurant is inside the iPic, which isn’t disclosed. They also accepted my reservation while the entire bar and restaurant was reserved for a private party. Stuck us in a room outside of the restaurant and utilized a bar tended to wait on us. Awful experience.
the food was really good; the drinks OK but martinis were missing the olives requested; unfortunately the dessert was really disappointing after an otherwise nice meal
Way over priced for the value of food. Service is shotty at best.
I love the ambience of the Tuck Room. I treated myself to a Salmon dinner and enjoyed it thoroughly. It was a table for one and I enjoyed “my” company!
Less than a good experience, especially after big marketing campaign to get you in! Fine for pre-movie food but I would skip it as for a food destination.
This was my first time at The Tuck Room and I didn't realize it wasn't a restaurant. It's basically "something to do" while you wait for your movie to start or end up here after the movie. It was more of a lounge/bar area rather than a restaurant. It was very open so you see patrons for the theater pass by. It's a neat concept but not when you're just wanting a dining experience. We just had drinks and left for a more defined dining experience.
I’ve been to the Tuck Room before, on a much busier night, and received better service.
Once seated, our waiter NEVER came to check on us unless we flagged him down.
Our drinks and food took so long to come that our waiter kept apologizing for the wait and kept having to go back to the bar and kitchen to check on our order; although we noticed other people around us received their orders before us even though they were seated after us.
Once we received the food, we had to quickly eat it because our movie had started.
Needless to say, we were not happy and our “dinner and a movie” experience could’ve been much better.
Made reservations for 8 and upon arrival, we were seated immediately but abruptly moved to a noisy spot right near the kitchen! They offered comps for the mix up in seating but clearly saw the displeasure on my wife's face. They immediately moved us to the bar/patio area which was the absolute best! Our waitress, Victoria, was OUTSTANDING!
Thank you to the manager and Victoria for making my bday very nice!
Chris was our server, he did an awesome job attending to us. The food was also pretty good. A perfect date night.
The service was very slow and disorganized. There were employees everywhere, and no one seemed to know what to do. The only exception - and I wish I had gotten his name - was the bus boy, who kept our water glasses full and chased down our waiter multiple times. We arrived an 1:15 hours before the movie, and we were still 20 minutes late to be movie.
The waitress was very good, appeared to be the only one on duty at 6:00pm. Ordered the wagyu burger and the margharita pizza from the happy hour menu. The burger was amazing. The margharita pizza was just a cheese pizza, no basil and no tomato. It was still good just not what you would expect when ordering a margharita pizza. Cocktails were very good, martini and margarita.
We had a salad with added skirt steak. The salad was acceptable but not special and exceedingly overpriced at $25 each. We had a bottle of very decent wine that was also exceedingly overpriced (under $25 at a store and $75 at the restaurant). We asked for bread and got a piece of white sliced bread (like mrs Baird) toasted on a panini maker so that it had stripes. A bottle of water for the table was $8, more than I have paid at a three-Michelin-Star restaurant in Manhattan, which is ridiculous. Overall a $200 meal for three very simple salads with some steak and a bottle of wine - we don’t mind expensive restaurants, but this is simply not acceptable value for a mediocre meal. Not worth the experience.
The ambiance was OK, but again not special. It is a restaurant attached to a movie theater, not what we expected. Very few people at 9:00 pm on s Friday — which is not a good sign.
Very good food. Service took way to long for drinks. They also ran out of a few items (ie menus, ice, etc). Cool setting with nice decor
Was served cold coffee. I asked for hot coffee and was given another cup of cold, room temperature coffee. Food arrived an hour after ordering, was incorrect and inedible. We boxed it up only because of the price and gave it to our dog. We ended up going to IHOP just to eat something before our movie. Truly one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had.
Poor experience, we ordered a drink and took 25 minutes for the server to come back. He came back without the drinks to take our order and then pretended that he had sent the drinks to the bar. We decided to leave after wasting 30 mins here.
Food was average bar food with not much selection. We were seated right by the bar where the wait staff congregated to socialize loudly. It was FAR too expensive for such a cheap experience.
I was let down significantly. If it werent for iPic we wouldn't have gone. But this time was exceptionally poor. The venue would be perfect for a small jazz trio or quartet, but there was no band there. The food was also poor. The skirt steak was tough and charred with no seasoning. The shrimp tacos were also poorly seasoned and small. Service was okay except i didnt receive a steak knife and had to use a BUTTER KNIFE for the steak. On the plus side, the waiter did honor my request for one of the tvs to be switched to espn so i could watch an nba game. My wife and i will come back for drinks at the bar as we wait to be seated for our movie, but we will not be dining here again.
Very classy, decent food amazing wait staff at the tuck room. Makes it easy to see a movie after dinner.
We get seated and there is a hair on our plate that was an immediate turn off gross! We then ordered drinks and it took 15 min to get our drinks. What was upsetting is there were workers in the bar just standing around. I ordered a margarita with salt on rim but it was not on the rim it was I’ll over the side of the glass. The waitress saw it and the way she addressed it was to turn the glass around so it was not facing me. Also ordered food and it was suppose to come with soy sauce but we had to ask for it. Not impressed will not be back.
I enjoyed my movie and my meals. Not to mention a great happy hour.
We had reservations yet there were no tables. We had to share a small cocktail table.
They were out of items in the menu at 6:45.
We’ve been coming here since it opened and it’s been going downhill for a while. The service is not up to par and the kitchen is consistently out of some item on the menu. The bartenders are generally friendly and knowledgeable but I’ve been there on two occasions when they can’t serve my drink in the proper glass because they’ve run out. I think Sherry Yard needs to get this location in shape!
Wonderful atmosphere. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. Definitely a must with family/friends and a pre-movie meal, if you aren't in to eating at your seat or just to chat before.
Missing the live music during happy hour. The atmosphere wasn’t as “happy” & lively without the live music. Bring back the live music
