About The Tropicale
A chic and sophisticated décor provides the setting for our distinctive "world cuisine", a provocative mix of zesty influences that creates a delightful dining experience in Palm Springs, California. Plush high-backed semicircular banquettes surround our dining room and offer comfortable and private seating. The cuisine has a light, exotic feel with an emphasis on Pacific Rim specialties, from Chilean Sea Bass baked in Banana Leaves or Kahlua-Barbecued Pork Chops to all sorts of tasty tapas, salads, wood-fired pizzas, and desserts. The Coral Seas Lounge, a hip mid-century style bar is lined with sexy black leather bar-stools and is reminiscent of the upbeat lounges of old Palm Springs. It wraps around the dining room and leads outside to a lush, tropical, 2000 square foot dining patio where a variety of specialty cocktails and old-school favorites are mixed - an ideal place where friends gather and martinis are sipped under the starlit desert sky.

The Tropicale Ratings and Reviews
This place is a must when visiting Palm Springs. You walk through the beautifully decorated “Palm Springs” bar scene with quite a few men mingling with Men. Then you walk through the back doors to an absolute patio oasis, with lovely string lights at night, gardens and water features. The outside bar is quite different from the inside bar, many couple enjoying the nice Palm Springs weather, and it serves very flavorful stiff drinks, and restaurant serves really great food. I ordered the skirt steak Thai salad, delicious! My husband ordered pizza. They were playing live music inside. Love this place!
First time here. What a find! Great ambiance and decor. Feels like Ricky Ricardo's night club meets Palm Beach chic. The hostess was amazingly kind and responsive when our requested table near the fountain on the patio was being held hostage by some lingering customers. She checked in with us numerous times while we had a drink and waited at the bar. Food was excellent, especially the glazed salmon over black rice, and they even threw in a complimentary dessert with candle for my wife's birthday! Well done. We'll be back!
We are weekly dinners, this visit was just before a show at the Copa Night Club next door.
Chris our bartender fixed the perfect drinks, he is assume we requested alterations to one dish that was on the menu and requested a dish that was off the lunch menu for dinner, he delivered on both, everything was fixed to perfection.
We would highly recommend Tropical for any meal, Chris and Mickey the bartenders are great always takes care of us.
I have always enjoyed this restaurant up this last experience was disappointing. I ordered curried Moroccan meat balls. I got two huge meatballs that looked and tasted like something escaped from a pasta plate. Maybe Tropicale is resting on their reputation and getting lazy.
Tropicale has a very authentic older restaurant feel. There are plenty of servers and staff to allow for good service and fast clean up after your meal. If you want food like your mother used to make this is not the place to go. Their food has surprising variations and ingredients to make it interesting and delicious.
Well, if your are going to escape from a desert golf resort--this is definitely the place to go for a wonderful dinner.
We were so happy to find The Tropicale. Excellent food--really the best I've had in a long time. Great cocktails--fun and interesting variety that made ordinary drinks really shine.
We split an appetizer of spring rolls--nicely seasoned with lots of fresh herbs.
Hubby had the salmon bowl, I had the crab with sushi rice appetizer.
We both were so very pleased--flavors were delicate and complex, veggies (hubby) perfectly cooked, my crab and sushi rice were outstanding together.
I highly recommend The Tropicale--just a pleasure to dine there.
Food and service were great - but we were squeezed into a very small table right between two VERY loud tables, when there were 6-7 free spots nearby that would have been more comfortable and quieter. If there was a rating scale for seating management, they would get 1 star.
Great dinner once again. We are weekly diners at Tropical. This week we had the steak cooked to perfection, our guest had the works pizza once again great food.
Great service by our waiter Dan, and our bartenders are always on spot with the drinks.
While we visit Palm Springs four times per year, each visit is highlighted by our dining at Tropicale. We count on it! Always friendly and accommodating, we are cheerily greeted and given our table in what is a bustling, energetic place where everyone is having an enjoyable time.
Dining choices can be fully satisfying off the entree menu or the plentiful and well-prepared, ample appetizer menu. My wife and I shared a pear salad with Gorgonzola, lively and light ahi poke, Kobe beef skewers, and spring rolls with fresh greens. Healthy to a tee!
If you haven't tried Tropicale, by all means, do so. They'll love having you there, either inside or out on the large well heated patio, or at the long bar. You'll remember it for years.
Everything about Tropicale was great from start to finish. Nice setting outdoors, terrific fast service throughout the evening, very reasonably priced (compared to what we are used to in LA), and excellent food quality. Our favorite restaurant in PS.
As always, the Tropicale did not disappoint. The two at the table took home the spaghetti and meatballs because the portion was large and the flavor was something they wanted to savor the next day! The pizza was "good" but not outstanding... and the shrimp with cucumbers was quite tasty. Served with ALOT of cucs.
