My nephew was in town and could not think of a more fun place to take him!!! I LOVE this place...
One of our favorites and a location I’ll always recommend to friends. On this day, I just got a bad meal! It was cold ( I had the smoked ham and eggs Benedict). When the plate was set in front of me it looked like a “crime scene” as the eggs had slid of the slice of ham and ice cold. I guess I should have could have complained, but my wife was enjoying the day and her brunch so I decided to just eat what I could and continue our conversation. I consider it an isolated incident and will return, but order the Tiki Bowl!
This was our first time at Tropicale for brunch. We have eaten dinner there many, many times and the brunch menu and food was excellent as I would have expected. I am an avocado toast guy and they did theirs with goat cheese mixed in and it was really delicious. I recreated it at for dinner and while not as good it is such a great idea. The other 3 also enjoyed their southern fried chicken and 2 eggs Benedict. The Bloody Mary was good, but not exceptional.
Love this place! It's my go.to.when friends are in town. Never disappoints!!
While our server was fantastic - our food was delivered by a surly kid who literally tossed the food at us and left. Our server acknowledged this and gave a sheepish smile and apologized. She said it was out of her hands.
Been to The Tropicale before. Was looking forward to a fun evening with friends and our Danish cousins. It was a big disappointment. The food was universally bad. My husband’s pasta was inedible. It had to be sent back. Our friend’s halibut was over cooked and dried out. Two of us got the fried chicken and it wasn’t at all crispy and the collared greens too stringy. The waitress was nice but don’t think I’ll be going back. It has gotten too busy. They care more about pushing people through then making it a memorable evening.
An incredibly diverse and eclectic menu, all beautifully prepared...
I have been to Tropicale since they opened, great spot. I also look forward to their weekly specials. They are creative and delicious. On this last trip, I ordered one of their specials, bourbon and brown sugar pork tenderloin. It tasted like soy sauce. Over priced @$30 and disappointing in flavor. It also was supposed to be served with 'crispy' grits, but the sauce piled on top made for a spongy texture. The pickled veg. Salad on the side might have been from a jar. Also disappointing was my drink. I had the worst vodka gimblet in recent history.
I of course will go back because this was a one time in as many as 16/17 yrs. and I have always enjoy it.
Busy as always. Seems the prices have gone up quite a bit since I was last there but portions are good so not too bad
What a wonderful restaurant! The service was superb and the food was amazing... will definitely go back!
Very good. I had three steak salad and it was loaded with steak and cooked perfectly. Service was excellent too. I'd go back for sure
This restaurant is by far the nicest we experienced during our week in Palm Springs.
Tables we a tad close together but the ambience, service and gods was spectacular!
As usual The Tropicale was amazing. Sat on the patio and it was an amazing night. The food, amazing, the service superb, even Steve at the host desk was very helpful.... This all is why I never go to Palm Springs without a dinner here. Thank you to everyone on the team!
Great menu selections and superior service at Tropicale. The Cobb salad was the best I have ever tasted.
Great food! Place a extremely busy and very loud. Def. not a place for quiet date night.
We had 3 appies and wedge salad between 2 of us and it was almost too much food.
Always a great place to go to . Never disappointed
Loved our time at Tropicale! The love music was lovely and not loud, the seating was comfortable and the staff was efficient and professional. And the food! Terrific! Thank you!
Many things were wonderful, especially the service.
But entrees were not up to the standards of other things
It got off to a rocky start as they tried to put three of us at two top and then go real attitude from the guy seating us. The guy with the black glass is not a PLUS to your front. Service just okay . Missed a few things more than a few times. When you bring a new drink, take the empty glad away...that kind of stuff that keeps you from being a top tier restaurant. Food was outstanding as always and the outside is the best in the area. Tropicale has lots of new competition so they need to step up and tighten their service.
We LOVED this restaurant! From the retro decor, to the delicious food (try the pupu platter and the fried chicken, you won't be disappointed), to the impeccable service, The Tropicale exceeded all of our expectations. We came to Palm Springs for our second annual girls trip and are always on the lookout for new, fun restaurants to try. We will most DEFINITELY be back again - I could see this being a tradition for us! Thank you to everyone at the restaurant for making our experience truly wonderful.
It was a great experience. Great food, Staff and atmosphere!
We've been going to The Tropicale for about 7 years. As Palm Springs becomes more popular, the service and the food at the restaurant decline in a correlating fashion. After this last visit, we've decided to spend our restaurant money elsewhere as it's now very overpriced ($30 for broccoli beef bowl), you have to wait an inordinate amount of time to get the seat you reserved (with no apology), and the food is just not what it was. On the other hand, the cocktails remain a generous pour which is great as you need these to endure the wait for your reserved table.
One of my favorite Palm Springs restaurants. The food and service are always very good.
We came in for St. Pattys day dinner, but all they had was a drink only on the menu. We were all kinda bummed. Guess we should have called and asked, instead of assuming. The food was good that we ordered. But $4.50 for ice tea was a little steep. Our server was good at recommending, but she was new, so really couldn't recommend much. I would still recommend this place, if you haven't tried it yet.
Food is over priced, service was slow, drink orders were mixed up. Not the top of my list of places to dine.
Another fabulous Sunday brunch at Tropicale. Food and service was exceptional. The best brunch in Palm Springs -- even better dining on the patio on a perfect Palm Springs afternoon.
This place never disappoints. The menu(s) have a wide variety of options, the staff is friendly and attentive, but not hovering. Today I had the giant shrimp salad and bottomless mimosas. Perfect brunch. Do try to make it for Sunday evening sushi if you can!
Amazing food and service! The server was very helpful and friendly.
Easily one of the nicest restaurants in the Palm Springs area. First class service, food and decor. We have enjoyed brunch and dinners there for at least the past 8 years and, unlike a lot of places, the place keeps getting better. The back patio was renovated this past year to become more of an all weather setting, magnificent job. Can't wait to go back.
This time brought New Orleans relatives visiting...and, of course, they loved it...patio comfortable, service without fuss and great food...who asks for more!!!! Our MOST favorite place...
Fantastic and wonderful as always
The Tropicale is a "standard" in the area, with a great kitchen, a vibrant atmosphere, and outstanding service (a shout-out to John-Mark, whose professionalism and enthusiasm, even late into the evening, truly "made our day." Reservations are a must, if you wish to sit outdoors, be sure to specify it. In or out, day or night, the Tropicale is a wonderful place to visit!
Great dinner, had the turkey burger from the weekly specials menu.
Mickey my bartender was great kept the drinks flowing, great food service
Nice conversation with out of towners
Great meal anytime you come along with great drinks and deserts
Weekly dinner you will never have a bad meal.
Food is creatively prepared and service is great. Don’t miss mile high chocolate cake to share.
Always great food and fun atmosphere. We come here every we are in Palm Springs.
Usually very good however out most recent dining experience was rushed, and the food quality and preparation were poor. My entree was undercooked and the appetizer and main course came out at the same time. I sent the entree back to be brought up to a higher temperature but when it was brought back to the table it was still undercooked. To their credit, the host handled the issue correctly offering me another entree but at that point my dining partner had nearly finished his meal and I interested in waiting.
Great food and service. Fun experience.
It was nice to see the resteraunt busy & with reservations we were seated immediately. Service was wonderful.
I ordered the fried chicken which was delicious. My husband, the bree topped burger that was incinerated. My brother, for his birthday ordered ordered seafood dish & he didnt enjoy. We will be back for brunch as we have enjoyed it immensely.
We are always happy with cocktails and dinner. Have yet to make it to dessert. Patio is so comfortable!
Normally this is our go-to place. However the last couple of times the food quality wasn't as good as usual. The place is extremely busy with new staff everywhere. I'm beginning to think that their success may be too much to handle and the food is starting to suffer. I had a fish dish a few weeks ago that was almost inedible due to the bones. Last night their boneless fried chicken was overcooked and dry. Their collard greens that I normally love were also tough and dry. Stay tuned....
