This restaurant is excellent. The food is always creative, tasty and well-priced. The service was excellent in this busy restaurant. I especially love the Orange Tangerine Calamari.
Our server Lori was fantastic! She explained everything throughly, gave amazing descriptions of the food and how it was prepared. After taking our orders, she came back to the table at least twice to see if everything was OK. She always had a smile and a wonderful attitude. We would come back for the service alone though the food was delicious.
Always a great time at Tripicale. It's been a couple years since our last trip to Palm Springs and the food is still super tasty, the staff is amazing, and the new patio is even better than before! Hopefully it won't be another couple years until our next visit.
We decided on celebrating Patti's birthday here, and it was superb. We loved the cocktails, the menu and the service. Camden was our server and he was superb. The manager was also attentive, without being intrusive. This is now our favorite restaurant in the Palm Springs area.
Great swordfish from the weekly special menu.
Mikey are bartender took great care of us as usual
We would highly recommend Tropical, best place in town
We are weekly diners great for any brunch, late lunch, dinner
Great food and service . Large portions!
The Tropicale is our go-to for PS classic dining. Great food, service, ambiance. It's a must for first-timers.
Outstanding. Maitre de was helpful, accomadating, and friendly.
Fabulous food, staff and atmosphere !
Love this place. Though the service can be a little too attentive and chatty. More reserve would be nice. Crab salad ❤️
Amazing, awesome place. A must! when in Palm Springs. Food and service are both outstanding.
This is on my top 2 restaurants in my book. I always recommend this place to tourists and friends!!
I don’t know if the ownership has changed but it’s not the same as previous times.
Tropicale is one of our favorite in the desert that offers great food and service!
Another fabulous Sunday brunch with friends at Tropicale. Food, service and atmosphere was outstanding as always. Check out their refurbished outdoor dining/bar space!
We went here to celebrate a bachelorette party due to the amazing reviews on various sites. The vibe of this place was weird, I was not quite sure what they were going for. The food was overpriced for the quality. We got calamari and onion rings as an appetizer, this was the best part of the meal, sadly. As a main entree our party of six got various dishes. They were all okay, nothing that wowed us. One of the group members got the carne asada and guacamole flatbread (~$30). You would think carne asada means beef cut into small chunks, false, the pieces of meat were so large (medallion size, super thick and under-cooked). The manager did remove this from the check because she didn't like it.
Lively, bright, filled with locals and tourists alike -- and friendly to everyone. the prices are reasonable, and the menu seems to have something for most tastes. It's a (pleasant) party atmosphere, all the time. No matter what your mood when you enter, you'll be smiling and lively by the time you leave. Colorful, whimsical, and just noisy enough to recognize that "a good time is being had by all."
Mark was an amazing server! Made the experience a lot better! Food was great!
The menu is very limited for entrees. I was surprised at how few things there were to choose from - and not one fish dish. There was a salmon bowl but nothing that just had a piece of fish.
The appetizers are great - and lots of choices there. The crab stack and tempura shrimp were amazing.
We had a great experience on our visit last week. Dan was our server and provided exceptional service. He was very welcoming, attentive and polite. We will be back based on our experience.
You are my favorite restaurant in Palm Springs. 50 characters as required.
After a very rough couple of days with more downs than ups, we decided to take our daughter out for a birthday dinner. Loved the decor and the waitstaff. The food was outstanding. Everything we ordered was delish. I had the thai fish stew with pineapple coconut ('just hot enough') curry, my daughter ordered the miso-glazed steelhead and black rice bowl, and my husband ordered the grilled heirloom pork chop. When the food was served, things got very quiet at our table for a while, as is the case when food is SOOO good all you want to do is be in the moment and savor every flavor, every texture. So yes, this meal was a winner. And it was a sweet spot in an otherwise very difficult week. It was as if we walked thru an invisible membrane into an atmosphere where everything was fine. One of those memorable meals that we'll talk about into the future.
Our party of four enjoyed a fabulous dining experience at The Tropicale!
Great food, great service, reasonable prices. A great brunch at Tropicale.
Tropicale is one of our favorite restaurants. We went for our anniversary and found the service good but so rushed. Plates were taken away just as we finished and courses were given just as we finished the next. The food quality has declined significantly. The fired chicken has been iconic. And this time we found it like pasty cement on a piece of chicken. So sad to see an icon decline like this. I’m not sure if we will be in a rush to return.
Mark, our server, was great and we had a wonderful experience!
We came for dinner on a night where they had just wrapped up their Leo Party, so the restaurant was jam packed when we walked in, but we were seated right away on the patio, which I requested. We had delicious cocktails, the pineapple upside-down martini and pina colada were delicious! We started off with the pupu platter and it was so filling we didn't end up ordering entrees. We ended on a ceasar salad and another round of cocktails and left with very happy bellies! the service was great too! Will definitely come here again next time we're in Palm Springs.
What a fun time! Outdoor dining is new and improved!!!!
Great dinner once again. We had the fried chicken salad perfect for a warm evening.
The new patio is awesome great job with the fans and misters.
The staff is always the best in town great bar service, great servers.
Highly recommend, we are weekly diners and enjoy every meal.
Had requested inside and cinfirmed. When we arrived was put in the patio and it was 110 at 6pm
The Thai skirt steak salad was outstanding. One of the best meals I've had in a long while. The Basil/Lemongrass Mojito was OK, though small pieces of lemongrass got caught in my teeth - maybe leave the pieces a little larger.
A personal favorite since the day it opened, in March 2008, we have never had a bad experience - ever - during any of our many visits to The Tropicale.
The service and wait staff are so very friendly and treat you like you are the only person being assisted.
The food, drinks and live music were all in full swing during our hot night out in late July. This is one of the best and most consistent restaurants in the desert. Maybe not as formal or high end as some places in PS, Rancho Mirage or Palm Desert, but it always has a fun party atmosphere. I just wish I could have stayed until August 2nd when they hold their annual Leo Party, complete with costumes and themed fare.
Great meal wonderful experience. PERFECT. That is why we keep coming back.
Great ambiance and we got a huge booth just for the 2 of us. Food was great and our server was very gracious when we felt our vodka tonics tasted different from the ones we had drunk at the bar. She brought us a sample of the tonic for us to taste, just to show us it was the same.
Sunday Brunch - Very nice but a little loud and a little over-priced. Special occasions only for me and my group of friends in the future.
We can always count on getting a good meal and terrific service at Tropicale. It's a Palm Springs staple.
A fun night out! My girlfriends and I were looking for a spot near the strip in Palm Springs where we could have a fun dinner. The Tropical fit the bill perfectly! We had champagne, the salted citrus martini, a cucumber martini, the chicken satay appetizer, and a variety of pizzas. Everything was absolutely delicious! The only thing that I was not a huge fan of is that it felt like they were rushing us at the end because they needed our table. My friends and I were there for about an hour and fifteen minutes so I don't believe we should have been rushed off. The waitstaff definitely pushed at the end there!
Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great atmosphere and delicious food and drinks!
Love this place. Just sorry I didn’t get the table I requested a week before. I’m not crazy about sitting on the middle section because there is always so much activity going on around with the wait staff, it’s hard to relax. But definitely one of my favorite places in the desert. The food is reliably fantastic.
