Always excellent food and GREAT service
We always love it at Tropicale.
One of our favorites. Top-notch service and ambiance.
Multiple birthday celebration
We can’t get enough of Chef Tony’s creations and his amazing team of talented servers, bartenders and everyone else who always makes us feel welcome and at home. The food is fantastic, the drinks are delicious, and the ambiance is the best Palm Springs. The Tropicale is always a must and sometimes you’ll even run into a celebrity or two.
Fried chicken wasn’t great and the waffles worse. Brunch menu needs work.
Awesome place for Sat or Sun brunch...wait staff is outstanding, friendly and the food is always great!
Tropicale is a “go to” spot for a special occasion. A patron many times, it was excellent as usual. An old friends birthday was made even more special with perfect service and vegetarian options.
Great as always
Great food. Great staff. Great experience all around.
It would be helpful if the restaurant wasn't so dimly lit. We all needed to use our smart phone flashlights to read the menu. The food was okay, but a little overpriced. Still, I would recommend this restaurant to a friend.
Great place. The patio is loud compared to the inside
Great dinner and drinks once again at Tropicale
We are weekly diners this week we had the kale salad and the organic burger everything was prepared to perfection
Would highly recommend Tropicale for any mail
Visit Palm Springs a couple times a year.
This is absolutely my favorite place.
Always great service & food.
Every time we have visitors now, we take them to Tropicale. Because every time we eat there we have yummy cocktails, delicious food, prompt excellent service by charming servers with a smile, and fantastic mid-century throw-back ambiance. It's a little bit Polynesian, a little bit elegant supper room. We had a party of 9 with varied dietary needs: vegetarian, gluten free, nut allergy, dairy free, etc. All our needs were met correctly the first time. Everyone in our party agreed it was the best meal they had in their week-long visit here over Thanksgiving. Better than Stuft Pizza (which you might expect), better than Arnold Palmer's steakhouse, better than Castelli's, although all of those were great. Keep up the excellent work!
Entree was delivered far too soon. We were still enjoying a drink and an appetizer. Felt very rushed
Always a great place to entertain our friends from out of town.
We continue to visit Tropicale as our favourite Palm Springs restaurant. Excellent food, excellent service!
Only regret is the noise level
This place never lets us down. Never. Even on a night when the owners have a well-deserved night off together, the team still produces a stellar performance. From our greeting by the host, who tells me not only did I get a favourite booth, but our favourite server as well, we are once again bedazzled, this time with two brand new customers we brought. The food comes out promptly, despite the overwhelming crowd, and is as delicious as ever. The martinis take us to heaven. And the server, Juan Carlos, (JC) steps up to us like he has known us all our lives. With a maturity that belies his years, he practices his craft of serving others with patience, helpfulness, benevolence and love, and not just to us. We see him give the same quality of service to everyone else. Truly the Gem of the staff at least for myself. And it is clear he has Grace in his life, in more ways than one...He flatters me by saying I am like his older brother, when I could be his grandfather. But hey, that is part of why I love Tropicale. Thanks again Ranz and Tony for all you do it emulate compassion to your staff, so that they can continue to shine for us all.
Not great. Food came out burnt the first time. We could not get a booth which we requested but a few sat empty while we were dining at our table. This is our second bad experience here in 2019. They will not get another chance to wow us. Very disappointing.
It's simple: Tropicale is the most fun restaurant and bar in Palm Springs, and the food is excellent. Go!
We were skeptical about trying a restaurant with an art-deco SouthBeach Miami-esk vibe. Half their logo-light was out on the outside of the building too, creating hesitation for this first timer. From our greeting at the door to our departure from the restaurant, everything was great. Server was amazing. Thoroughly explained the menu items that we had questions on. Food was exceptional and created comfort. From the brussel sprout salad, fried chicken dinner, and massive tomahawk pork chop... all amazing. The focaccia bread at the start was ok. Nothing to remember but all in all we enjoyed our experience at the Tropicale. It’s a def ‘try’ if you are up for some delicious comfort food.
Three of us ordered Huevos Rancheros without discussion. All of us agreed the best ever. The spicy chicken sausage was excellent and the side of guacamole was more than enough.n Bottomless mimosas and sparkling wine are always a brunch plus. The other three meals were equally good.
You always take good care of us, and our guests - thank you! That's why we keep coming back over, and over again. ;)
Food, service, ambiance was all great.
One of the best in town! Great food, service and ambience!
Always an amazing meal
Always fabulous ambiance
Always great service
Good vibe, great service, Jesse, nicely heated outside dining and bar! Will definitely return!
It was lovely. We sat on the in closed patio and it was warm and inviting. The staff was great.
My only concern was how tight it was in there. The staff had a hard time maneuvering around. ( I’m sure they are use to it ).
Long time patron. Food was disappointing
No flavor. Soup & salad very good
Service excellent as usual.
Next year I’ll cook the turkey!
Still luv you. Rich
As Snoopy used to start a story in Peanuts "It was a dark and stormy night..." So true for Thanksgiving Day in Palm Springs. Tropicale was a warm delight my wife and I appreciated after some difficulty getting there. They gave us the kind of seating we requested and we were intrigued by what might be Tropicale's version of a Thanksgiving dinner. It was terrific and included the turkey cuts I had requested along with a delicious light broth with veal meatballs as a warm-up. The red mashed potatoes and vegetables accompaniment were nicely prepared. The grand finale was our choice of desserts: mine a cappuccino gelato and my wife an apple pie with ice cream. Our experience was once again terrific and we appreciate the vibe, good humor, and excellent dining. Our thanks.
Thanksgiving dinner was horrible. Not sure what’s was up. That’s the first bad meal I’ve ever had there. Very very disappointing.
We have been there many times before and our guests enjoyed the food however I waited 30 minutes for a glass of wine had an unapologetic waitress they did not remove the charge from our bill and when I asked the manager about it he was rude. Ultimately and unapologetically the grudgingly remove the charge from the bill I will not be back we have been there many times before and our guests enjoyed the food however I waited 30 minutes for a glass of wine had an unapologetic waitress they did not remove the charge from our bill and when I asked the manager about it he was rude. We loved our dinner experience at The Tropicale. It was a chilly rainy night and we were apprehensive about being seated on their outdoor patio but it was covered and well-heated and lovely. Our food was amazing... We went with several small plates including coconut shrimp, chicken satay, spring rolls and shrimp tacos. We also had a wonderful salad of greens with balsamic vinaigrette dressing and gorgonzola and walnuts. Delicious! We ended with chocolate cake for dessert.... A really huge piece of cake that we divided in half and split one of the halves and took home the other half and split again the next day... One serving provided really 4 servings.... Sooooo good. Raymond was our server and he was knowledgeable and friendly. We would return and it was a great find on our visit to Palm Springs.
Group of 7 - we were Seated on patio on a chilly night - heaters not working well and too dark to see what we were eating. Service was good. Food good but over salted. We particularly liked the salmon and black rice bowl. Inside much noisier, but also warmer.
Once again, we enjoyed our visit to Tropicale. The pu pu platter and a glass of wine makes for a wonderful light dinner , and topped of with a coffee and plate of cookies to share . We will always include a vist or two to Tropicale when we come to Palm Springs!
The main complaint would be that we felt rushed. The food came very quickly and we were still enjoying our cocktails. The plates were gathered up before everyone had finished their meals. However, the food was good and when my husband’s meat was not cooked as he requested the server was very kind about taking it back to the kitchen for more cooking.
Terrible service and mediocre food. Usually much better.
Service was fantastic, very friendly and informative staff , good recommendations on food choices , atmosphere fitting for Palm Springs retro theme
We enjoyed, yet again, a great meal at Tropicale. The Brisket Burger with Brie was perfectly cooked and delicious, as were two of the week's specials: Ricotta & Parmesan Ravioli in mouthwatering Butter Tomato Sauce, and the Soft Polenta and Lamb Sugo with grilled Italian Sausage. Best of all was the outstanding service we received from our Server - Sterling. Tropicale has continued to maintain it's record for delicious food, served by attentive & caring staff, in a very comfortable and pleasing environment.
