Absolutely love the Tropicale. 3rd visit in last year. Took my boss there for dinner and he loved it. Said if he lived in PS, he'd eat there 2 to 3 times weekly!
I’ve always loved this place but a year ago we got terrible service and cold food which kept us away for a whole year.
I’m glad I came back because the place really is exceptional from the food to the decor to even the service.
2nd visit for dinner, and as good as last time. Nice place, great service, good food you will want to try!
What a pleasant surprise! It was due to this restaurant being on Open Table that brought it to my attention. Now I cannot imagine coming to the area without eating here! The waiter suggested the benedicts for brunch and they were first-rate. The complimentary NY style coffee cake is the best I have ever had in the West. Choice of vibrant garden patio or tranquil indoor comfort is also compelling. I booked again for tomorrow for dinner even though I almost never repeat restaurants that closely.
Another fabulous Sunday brunch at Tropicale. The weather cooperated so we were able to enjoy brunch on the beautiful patio. Service was outstanding. Food was awesome. Some new items on the brunch menu to try out next time.
Great food, fun drinks. Don’t miss the Mississippi mud pie desert... one of the best I’ve ever had.
Another delightful dinner with family! As always, great cocktails and food, superb service, and a fun dining atmosphere.
A local favorite. It’s a sexy 60’ lounge type bar. Very mid century inside and a great patio outside for dining.
Wonderful. Great space and vibes. I will be back.
Amazing staff! Food was excellent! Most portions are large. Could definitely be shared with two people. Definitely going again!
Kudos to the chefs to stretch the definition of 'comfort food.' Tasty, creative plates. Large portions so adjust ordering appropriately. Our server was great.
While this is one of our favorite Restaurants, do not go there on a Friday night. The place is mobbed, service was haphazard and the food cold. The last three Fridays we went, they had the same or similar problems. Go another night and you will be much better off- Sundays are a better bet.
First time in the area. Was recommended to us. It was a wonderful place. Loved the gay vibe, the atmosphere, the food. They didn’t rush us and it was a very busy evening. We appreciated that very much.
We had the fish & chips from the weekly specials menu very good perfectly cooked.
We also had the skirt steak from the weekly specials cooked to order, the dish was really good.
Our bartender Mikie provided great service and had our food ready on time.
Weekly diners would high recommend.
Always excellent! It’s my go-to restaurant in Palm Springs for consistently great food and service!
Great service. Fun environment. Very accommodating. We both had shrimp and salads that were fresh and flavorful. The bar service was quick and the drinks were great.
Always a fabulous time at Tropicale! From the wait staff, ambiance, bar scene, not to mention scrumptious cuisine - all is sublime!!!!! Our favorite place in Palm Springs!!
Perfect service and perfect food. Great vibe.
Atmosphere was great, Service was good, Food was OK.
We took my mother in law there for her birthday. Big mistake. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun place and the food and atmosphere are usually good. It's just not a very special place for a special occasion. Service was very slow, food was wrong, loud large table next to us and I had to step away from the table to get the servers attention for a birthday dessert for my mother in law. I won't be rushing back and will definitely NOT consider this a place for "special" occasions.
I love Tropicale..I'm never diappointed...consistent and reliable!!
We frequent Tropicale - there are so many great menu items and I appreciate that they offer constant changing "specials" BUT if you come for Brunch, you can't pass up their avocado toast. It's an amazing blend of goat cheese & avocado - simply divine!
Love the ambiance and energy of this restaurant! Super friendly staff and great service. We were a little disappointed in the food this time though- I ordered a pizza- that was I think $19? I prefer the pizza at Blaze pizza in town, for $6. My partner ordered the fried chicken which was okay- Maybe we ordered wrong- still give the place a five star review for the overall fun dining experience.
Relaxed, comfortable and enjoyable evening.
A group of us dined at Tropicale after Film Fest opening nite. It was a perfect place to go, as we knew it would be open and “happening” at 9pm! Food and service was great!
This week we had the weekly special trout and cod noodle dish. Everything was prepared to perfection.
The food was seasoned perfectly, served quickly everything was 100% top notch.
The bartenders Mikie and Rufo took great care of us and always made sure our drinks were filled.
Highly recommend Tropical for any meal.
Consistent of every visit to Tropicale, pretentious, snobby, and looking for the “A” list to seat first. Even though I had reservations. Dear, this is not NYC.
Enjoyed pizza and ravioli for three!
My friend and I were celebrating our belated birthdays together! He has been there a couple of times. My first time. Jose (?) our server was such a great person! Our cocktails were perfect! Not too sweet! Very refreshing with fresh ingredients. (I believe that was his name-Jose- for our Friday Night dinner on the patio). Food was delicious. We will return! Maria Terri O’Donnell
Took friends from Houston to ENJOY!!! And we ALL did...booth, inside (warm!!) with our great food, service and care...NO evening is better !! As usual, everything went beautifully...and we were left to have a wonderful visit and meal with our friends...there is NOTHING better!!! SO thankful to everyone, both on the floor and in the kitchen, for making ANOTHER dinner superb!!!!!
This is the restaurant that we make sure we dine at every time we are in Palm Springs. We have never been disappointed, the food is always great and the drinks are top notch. On our last visit my wife and I went with some items of the special menu. I had the prime rib which was good, but my wife had the honey glazed Chilean sea bass and it was absolutely amazing.
Tropicale was recommended by our VRBO host. We were drawn by the Happy Hour all day on Wednesday promo. My martini cocktail was great but could have been served “chillier” I like when there is a float of ice at the top. I ordered the carne asada & my husband ordered the spaghetti & meatballs. Both were terrific! Parking is a bit limited but over all, it was a great experience. We’ll likely go back before we leave town. You should go!!
We had a great dinner at Tropicale a year ago, so we booked it again when we headed to Palm Springs for New Years this year. Unfortunately, the second time was a disappointment. The food we fine (not spectacular), but the service was way off.
exceptional food, fun vibe, cozy seating in kitschy banquettes
I ordered a margarita pizza and it came out looking very unappetizing. First it was drastically undercooked and second it was just white...a solid cheese topping of white... we called our waiter and he said it probably should never have left the kitchen. We had 3 other pizzas at our table that were browned crust and very nice...we decided to order something else as we didn’t feel like ordering the same thing.
Hoe do you spell success TROPICALE - an outstanding restaurant for all reasons.
My Ramos Fizz was delicious as was my avacado and goat cheese toast. My dining partner had the chicken and waffles which I tried and also found tasty and authentic. The only small problem was that despite a reservation, the large patio had a 20 minute wait. We opted to dine inside.
Great looking restaurant. Noisy. Ordered the Pupu platter it was very good. The fried chicken was nothing special. It was our anniversary they gave us a complimentary dessert that was very good. Wasn’t crazy about our table. It was on the end of a row. Not really quiet or romantic for an anniversary and kind of loud. Loved the look of the place.
