The Trophy Room Ratings and Reviews
We needed to find a place for dinner after a show in the South End and made an OpenTable search on short notice. We thought the Trophy Room looked like it was the right combination of good food, casual, and fun. We were not disappointed by the choice -- it turned out to be an excellent meal and very friendly service. The restaurant is pretty loud, but not so much so that it would make conversation difficult. The host and server were both very friendly. We would recommend the restaurant to others and are likely to go back.
Meals didn't come out as requested and when a special was ordered and questions asked regarding the sides the answer from the server turned out to be wrong and nothing was offered to remedy it. A burger ordered with no sauce and medium came out well done with sauce so overall not the best
The food was terrific. The special was Stripped Bass that was prepared excellent with a Risotto that could have been its own entry it was so delicious. We are only here in Boston for the week but will go back before we leave.
We were very impressed with the quality of the food and service at the Truphy Room. We were expecting standard pub grub but they had a great choice. I had the scallops which were cooked to perfection. We stayed on fur a few drinks afterwards and it was a very lively and friendly crowd. I would certainly recommend this has a place to eat if you are in Boston.
We go to Trophy Room all the time, but our server last night (May 30) was just awful. He couldn't answer any questions about the drinks or menu, he brought out the appetizer with the entrees (and was confused that we were confused by this), didn't refill water, and just generally stood there talking to his girlfriend while we needed stuff. It was extra disappointing cause we were meeting a friend from out-of-town, and had talked the place up!
Excited to go here for brunch. Nice location, great ambiance, good waiter. But the food was mediocre at best. Food not cooked as requested, and served luke warm. Cornmeal french toast is awful, with texture and off flavor. Kids food came after all the adult food. Not planning on coming back here. Very disappointing.
The host at the door was extremely rude to our group. We arrive very early Friday evening around 530p to have some drinks and appetizers before an event we had in the evening. The host said they were "completely booked all night" so we had to sit at the awkward little bar area by the door/kitchen. When we asked politely to move to one of the many empty tables he again stated they were "completely booked." Confused, since there was barely anyone in the restaurant I opened up this app and saw reservations available at literally every single time slot that night. 545p, 6p, 615p, 630p, 645p, 7p etc. To make sure I wasn't mistaken I reserved a table on the spot and asked a (different) hostess if we could move to it which she obliged... Overall was very unprofessional experience.
Great ambiance. Appreciated Rupaul and the drag show, though the latter was a little hard to hear and see.
Food was good! Particularly the appetizers. The Nachos and Brussels outshined the entrees for me (I had the Tacos).
Service was a little slow, but Vanessa was extremely friendly and helpful! :)
Come for the Freakshow, stay for the food... Freakshow Cabernet Sauvignon, that is!
Trophy Room introduced me to this very bold, delicious Cab and now I am hooked on it... atmosphere--and wait staff--are lively & fun... tasty blend of modern bar/American food makes up the menu.
Came here for GLAM brunch. Everyone was beyond nice and friendly. The food buffet was, however, extremely underwhelming for $15. Bingo was over an hour late so unfortunately we did not get to partake either - the whole reason we made reservations in the first place.
Bingo Drag Brunch was incredibly fun! The service wasnt great but it was very busy and buffet style so it was confusing for the servers I think. Im very happy they are making it a monthly thing! It was wicked fun and the perfect way to spend Sunday with friends.
Had a fun lite dinner with friends. Had chowder, then shared the chicken nacho's and grill cheese dippers. The food, drinks and service were all excellent. A good mix of clientele and it can get a little noisy. I still recommend it here, whether for full dinner or drinks and apps to share.
Our first time at the Trophy Room was Sunday brunch. Food was very good, service was friendly and quick. We had the eggs Caribe (Benedict), potato and leek soup, seafood chowder and an egg dropped on meatloaf, all 4 items we would order again. Great little neighborhood spot, we'll be back!
So it's a shame... Trophy Room has a great bar. Food, not so much. Yikes. We ordered a bunch of small plates to share.... Meatballs (dry and tasted reheated, sauce no flavor), Pretzel (tough like old worn pizza dough), Chicken Empanada dead cold in center, had to send back), Mushrooms (tasted like frozen mushrooms you get from Costco), Buffalo Cauliflower (best thing on the menu, but I feel like they've cut the portion on this... only 4 pieces of cauliflower).
Overall I was embarrassed I suggested this place to my friends.
Go for a drink. Skip the food.
I visited this restaurant with my niece. Although she is under drinking age the restaurant offered non alcoholic beer. The ambiance was nice and cozy. We had sprouts, meatballs, soup. The meatballs and sprouts were really good. The service was fine not special. The beer selection is below average. It fact I was confused when I read the beer list which indicated two beers from Chicago, FL. I pointed this out to the server which replied, I did not write that. I'd say this places is good to meet friends pre dinner or after dinner. The prices are average.
