The Troll Pub opened on October 19th 2011, underneath the 2nd Street Bridge in a 135 year old space directly next to the YUM Center on historic Whiskey Row. The Troll Pub is a subterranean retreat that features a Gastro-pub style menu with a wide selection of great tasting food items, craft beer, local artwork, and an overall atmosphere unique to Louisville. We are just blocks from the Louisville Convention Center and only steps away from many of the hottest attractions and hotels situated downtown. Just look for the Troll on the corner of 2nd and Washington, he will show you the way.

Our table was ready a few minutes after we got there. Waitress was quick with our drinks. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Club sandwich was pretty good. Pizza was pretty good. My friend had the Hot Brown and did not like it. The waitress was friendly and accommodating to split the check.

This is a fun restaurant tucked under the bridge in Louisville. The atmosphere in this old building and the food are both great.

We enjoyed ourselves as always. We have been going to The Troll for five - six years now on Derby night. Although we have been there that many times I never tried their beer burger on a pretzel roll And really liked it . Their fries go very well with it. We’ll be back!

We had a reservation for 7 people at 8:45, arrived and were seated right away. Unfortunately after that our service was not the best. The staff was super friendly, but nowhere to be found. Dinner took about 2 hours and we had to beg for our checks to leave. Not sure if this is because it is more of a bar at those late hours, but it was too long for a dinner.

Ordered 3 different beers and they didn’t have them then when we ordered our food they didn’t have what we wanted. Very disappointed

Our waitress was extremely slow and inattentive. Waited over 15 minutes just to get a glass of water. Ordered a particular beer, 10 minutes later she said they were out. When we ordered a second of whatever they brought us, they then miraculously brought us the first beer that we’d been told they were out of. Just not overly impressed.

This is what a pub should look, smell, sound, and feel like. An old, burned out building basement, rebuilt and repurposed with as much original material as possible, under a bridge--makes it comfy and relaxed. A good mix of indie and classic rock adds to the chill environment and sets a good tone for enjoying a meal. Friendly and attentive staff makes sure you have a good time and your bellies are full. The dining area is great for groups, date night, or even a business meal. Four pages of bottled/canned beers, along with a chalkboard of drafts made it tough to decide on a beer, but the server offered to bring samples. The food arrived quick and hot--the burger(perfectly cooked to medium) was slathered in their house beer cheese and their fries were seasoned very well (no need for ketchup). My only gripe is the beers were a little overpriced, but they were craft and you have to support the movement. I didn't have room for dessert, but I will be back! If you go, say hi to Louie the Troll.

Very much enjoyed our first time visit to this establishment. Scott took good care of us, answered questions and made us feel welcomed. Burger was tasty, the restaurant was very interesting with quite the historical background. Can’t wait to visit again.

Noise level was moderate this time, which is surprising because it was final four night. Assumed it would be louder! Service was prompt as usual, food was great as usual! Been here many times never had a problem. Would recommend reserving seats on OPEN TABLE if planning on attend on the off chance they are packed! They were full based on reservations the night we went for final four until 10PM.. So not always necessary it is highly recommended a reservation be made if planning on attending this restaurant during peak hours thu-fri,sat 5p - 8pm

Hostess was able to reseat us upon our request (so we could see a TV). Our server, Robby, was very good despite it being a busy evening. He was very polite and attentive to details. This was a cool little restaurant with a lot of history. Easy walking distance from down town. We enjoyed the sweet potato tater tots!

Went with a group of 12. We walked in as they opened the doors at noon on a Sunday. There was a women’s ballgame the same day and the restaurant filled up quick. Our initial drink orders were kinda slow, but considering they got bombarded - no issue. Server was good, not great. He forgot a couple small things; refills & condiments, but followed up quickly when reminded. I will definitely go back. Go Cards!

My wife and I went to Troll Bridge on a date before a show at The Palace. We had reservations but there was no wait. Our food was great and the service was better. I don’t remember our servers name but she was very spunky and punctual. We were there for happy hour so we were able to get an appetizer, two entrees and several beers for $40. That’s a great deal. We will definitely be back again.

Husband and I went to The Troll Pub Under the Bridge for Valentine’s Day. We had the Valentines Dinner. The meal was good, the only complaint would be the Rosetta, which they changed out for me because it had mushrooms and that was extra nice of them, but my husband had the Rosetta and he didn’t care for it and he said it was very bland. The dessert was cheesecake, and it was disappointing because it did not taste like cheesecake at all.

Overall, I would still recommend going here. It had a great atmosphere, very good drink selection, and our appetizer was fantastic. Our waitress was super sweet!

Good place to eat in a laid-back, pub-style atmosphere. Service was very good - server was friendly knowledgeable and professional. Nice selection of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, and have a short but just-right kids menu (tenders, pasta, grilled cheese, etc.). Hot Brown was delicious. Nice selection of beer and bourbon. Recommended.

The Troll Pub was recommended by friends, and we're glad we took their recommendation. The beer cheese and pretzels appetizer was great, burgers were cooked to perfection, and the grilled chicken salad was fresh and huge! They have a great beer selection, too. I would not recommend the drunken cheesecake - it's a tiny round cheesecake that was obviously popped right out of the freezer. Not worth the money. Everything else, including the service, was outstanding.
