The Troll Pub Under the Bridge Ratings and Reviews
We specifically made a reservation to avoid waiting. We arrived early and made our way to the bar. The hostess approached us a little
While later and stated that the party currently occupying our table was not going to be finished in time for our reservation and offered to comp us an appetizer if we chose to eat at the bar. While not exactly what I wanted for date night, it all worked out.
I would highly recommend the drink The Bloody Derby and the Angry Alfredo entree! We will definitely be back when we visit Louisville again!
Have the beer cheese!!! Wonderful taste, smooth and the pretzels are great with it. I had the chicken and waffles, husband had fish n chips both were fried expertly, crispy outside done and still moist on the inside. My sister in law had the Swiss and mushroom burger and loved it. I wish we lived local. We would be there all the time. Service was great, lots of drink choices. Even for little ones.
We had a great experience at Troll Pub. Our server was attentive and timely with taking drink orders and getting things to our table. The food was pretty standard pub fare. I had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, and honestly, I’ve had better. However, my friends all loved their food! One had the Southern Comfort burger, one the special Alfredo, one the Taco Salad, and one the Strip steak. The garlic roasted broccoli was so good! I had the Troll Pub Punch, which was a great cocktail and a couple of my friends had the cider, which they loved. I’d definitely go back for the ambiance and experience, I’d just try something different.
Service was excellent. It was the only thing that was good.
We were seated at a table looking into the hallway (bar area) - employee work area.
It was like it was an "after thought table" The employees hung in this first dining area and it was not pleasant. Up to 8 at a time -employees gathering and having a very loud time. The front dining area had plenty of seats not occupied that were away from the employee hang out(they sat at a couple of tables & booths by the hostess desk) . It ruin my experience. Would not go back.
We had a large group for my son who came home from The Navy to surprise his girlfriend & propose. The staff went above & beyond to help us, accommodate the surprise and help make it memorable for everyone. Thanks so much! We loved the food, drinks & it made our special occasion even sweeter having a secret, hidden room! Definitely a great place to celebrate!
I set a reservation on OpenTable and confirmed it with the hostess by calling. I got there with my party of 8 and they said there was no reservation under my name. They had to scramble to get a table together. Very poor organization and the waitress was not attentive at all. My food also came out incorrectly the first time.
We had a great time at Troll Pub. Myself and 8 friends went to have a few drinks and dinner. We initially made the reservation for 6 but they quickly accommodated us when our party size changed. Our waiter was knowledgeable about beer and bourbon selections and was attentive to us the whole night although he had many tables. Food was good and inexpensive, as were the drinks. Also, we were sat right in front of a large screen TV playing college sports so we couldn’t have been happier. Definitely recommend for groups!
Enjoyed everything except for the fact that it was a Friday afternoon and they just decided that they were not going to do Happy Hour. We had ordered a drink and waited until 5 for the happy hour to start before ordering a second and was informed that they were not having it even, though the sign clearly said happy hour was from 5 - 7. Very irritated they did not honor that and may not go back due to them just deciding that and not posting it anywhere.
Don't be fooled by the descriptions of it being a quaint place with the cute troll outside. It's dreadful: it smells, it's dirty, all the food is fried and not even good bar food. Everything comes out lukewarm at best. The waitstaff is the best thing the house has to offer and they are great! There's far better barfood around the corner at half a dozen other places
First experience here was great! Definitely recommend and would go back. We ate here before the Jake Owen concert, and walked from our hotel, the Galt House. Beautiful walk to get there, looks awesome inside and outside. Truly the "pub, hole in the wall bar" scene. Going down into a basement setting was so cool! Very friendly staff.
I made a reservation a week in advance for a family trip and reserved the bookcase room. A woman even called the day of to confirm the time and confirmed we would be in the bookcase room. Upon arriving we were sat in a noisy room, not in the bookcase room. I asked the person who sat us why we weren't in the area we had reserved and she said "Oh sorry, the bookcase room is closed tonight". I then blatantly saw others getting sat and dining in the bookcase room. I did not appreciate getting lied to. Plus my kids were EXTREMELY disappointed that we came all the way from Indianapolis and weren't able to sit where we were promised. What was going to be a great dining experience was ruined. Very disappointing.
