Excellent food, great service, wonderful cocktails, close proximity to the theater, a great time was had by all.
We waited an hour from the time we were seated to receive our food.
Food was good the service was good as well. Wish they would have made their draft choices more clear.
Table for eight ready to go when we arrived, server was great, kept drinks, appetizers, and dinner moving right along but not rushing us at all...very pleasant and knowledgeable....great place.
This is what a pub should look, smell, sound, and feel like. An old, burned out building basement, rebuilt and repurposed with as much original material as possible, under a bridge--makes it comfy and relaxed. A good mix of indie and classic rock adds to the chill environment and sets a good tone for enjoying a meal. Friendly and attentive staff makes sure you have a good time and your bellies are full. The dining area is great for groups, date night, or even a business meal. Four pages of bottled/canned beers, along with a chalkboard of drafts made it tough to decide on a beer, but the server offered to bring samples. The food arrived quick and hot--the burger(perfectly cooked to medium) was slathered in their house beer cheese and their fries were seasoned very well (no need for ketchup). My only gripe is the beers were a little overpriced, but they were craft and you have to support the movement. I didn't have room for dessert, but I will be back! If you go, say hi to Louie the Troll.
Very much enjoyed our first time visit to this establishment. Scott took good care of us, answered questions and made us feel welcomed. Burger was tasty, the restaurant was very interesting with quite the historical background. Can’t wait to visit again.
Noise level was moderate this time, which is surprising because it was final four night. Assumed it would be louder! Service was prompt as usual, food was great as usual! Been here many times never had a problem. Would recommend reserving seats on OPEN TABLE if planning on attend on the off chance they are packed! They were full based on reservations the night we went for final four until 10PM.. So not always necessary it is highly recommended a reservation be made if planning on attending this restaurant during peak hours thu-fri,sat 5p - 8pm
The service and food were both great! Love the atmosphere and the under the bridge aesthetic. Great place for families with kids prior to Loucity FC games!
Hostess was able to reseat us upon our request (so we could see a TV). Our server, Robby, was very good despite it being a busy evening. He was very polite and attentive to details. This was a cool little restaurant with a lot of history. Easy walking distance from down town. We enjoyed the sweet potato tater tots!
Fantastic! We dined with our children who loved the uniqueness! Food was fabulous and the server was very attentive
The food was great & our service was awesome!
Not especially impressed with service this night
The food was good but the service even better. Great drinks and plenty of opportunities to watch sports if thats what you want. A good find will recommend and return.
A group of 8 went there for my retirement lunch. No complaints from anybody. Service was excellent and food was too. Thanks I’m sure I’ll be back again
Went with a group of 12. We walked in as they opened the doors at noon on a Sunday. There was a women’s ballgame the same day and the restaurant filled up quick. Our initial drink orders were kinda slow, but considering they got bombarded - no issue. Server was good, not great. He forgot a couple small things; refills & condiments, but followed up quickly when reminded. I will definitely go back. Go Cards!
My wife and I went to Troll Bridge on a date before a show at The Palace. We had reservations but there was no wait. Our food was great and the service was better. I don’t remember our servers name but she was very spunky and punctual. We were there for happy hour so we were able to get an appetizer, two entrees and several beers for $40. That’s a great deal. We will definitely be back again.
Our server Robbie was outstading, he made the evening very enjoyable!! Great food and drink!
Husband and I went to The Troll Pub Under the Bridge for Valentine’s Day. We had the Valentines Dinner. The meal was good, the only complaint would be the Rosetta, which they changed out for me because it had mushrooms and that was extra nice of them, but my husband had the Rosetta and he didn’t care for it and he said it was very bland. The dessert was cheesecake, and it was disappointing because it did not taste like cheesecake at all.
Overall, I would still recommend going here. It had a great atmosphere, very good drink selection, and our appetizer was fantastic. Our waitress was super sweet!
Good place to eat in a laid-back, pub-style atmosphere. Service was very good - server was friendly knowledgeable and professional. Nice selection of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, and have a short but just-right kids menu (tenders, pasta, grilled cheese, etc.). Hot Brown was delicious. Nice selection of beer and bourbon. Recommended.
Great place before a basketball game. In and out quickly.
Awesome place. The food was great along with the waiter and service.
The Troll Pub was recommended by friends, and we're glad we took their recommendation. The beer cheese and pretzels appetizer was great, burgers were cooked to perfection, and the grilled chicken salad was fresh and huge! They have a great beer selection, too. I would not recommend the drunken cheesecake - it's a tiny round cheesecake that was obviously popped right out of the freezer. Not worth the money. Everything else, including the service, was outstanding.
It was great. It was my first time there, but I would definitely go back. The bar/drinks were great, the food good, our server- Robbie was really nice, knowledgeable and responsive.
Had a seat by the door after having a reservation. Food was cold and had to send it back.
When I booked my reservation, I wanted to take my friends to a special restaurant that was conveniently located for individuals in Indiana, Louisville and Bullitt County. The perks: the restaurant website stated happy hour was occurring during our arrival time plus the location. The downside: Little did I know that the Louisville Cardinal girls game was at the YUM center the same evening! Traffic was a nightmare for everyone to arrive inside the restaurant. Upon getting seated, we were told the happy hour is not available during any downtown events. I apologized to my guests for not doing my homework. The outcome: HOWEVER, our wonderful waiter Hunter made sure our night was still great! He kept the drinks, the appetizers and the food coming!! We enjoyed every bite and every sip!!! As well as good conversation in an awesome setting!!! THANKS for a wonderful evening!
As always, was a great atmosphere, good food and service. Love coming to Troll Pub.
Fun pub. Burger and poutine was filling. Server was informative and very friendly.
The sweet potato tots were amazing! Out waitress was very sweet and knowledgeable about menu
We LOVED our meal! We were having dinner before a show at Actor's theater, and it was a perfect choice! We had a hot brown and also a turkey with a twist sandwich with fries. The fries were some of the best we have ever had! And the place had a great atmosphere, that I would gladly visit again.
The food was great and the beer cold!! Our waitress, Laura was amazing. Everyone loved the environment of the restaurant.
We specifically made a reservation to avoid waiting. We arrived early and made our way to the bar. The hostess approached us a little
While later and stated that the party currently occupying our table was not going to be finished in time for our reservation and offered to comp us an appetizer if we chose to eat at the bar. While not exactly what I wanted for date night, it all worked out.
I would highly recommend the drink The Bloody Derby and the Angry Alfredo entree! We will definitely be back when we visit Louisville again!
The food was decent, however I made a reservation days In. Advance. The only seat available was the smallest table at the very front right near the door. It was very cold outside and every time the door was opened it was freezing.
Great food and service!
I like the Troll Pub, different, able to talk across the table, good selection of beer. My salad could have contained a little more vegetable varieties, green pepper, a radish,, missing the avocado I ordered.
Have the beer cheese!!! Wonderful taste, smooth and the pretzels are great with it. I had the chicken and waffles, husband had fish n chips both were fried expertly, crispy outside done and still moist on the inside. My sister in law had the Swiss and mushroom burger and loved it. I wish we lived local. We would be there all the time. Service was great, lots of drink choices. Even for little ones.
We had a great experience at Troll Pub. Our server was attentive and timely with taking drink orders and getting things to our table. The food was pretty standard pub fare. I had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, and honestly, I’ve had better. However, my friends all loved their food! One had the Southern Comfort burger, one the special Alfredo, one the Taco Salad, and one the Strip steak. The garlic roasted broccoli was so good! I had the Troll Pub Punch, which was a great cocktail and a couple of my friends had the cider, which they loved. I’d definitely go back for the ambiance and experience, I’d just try something different.
By far, one of the coolest places I've ever been in. The service was great by both the hostess and the server. It was a great place to get dinner before heading to the theater for a show. I'll definitely eat here again.
Service was excellent. It was the only thing that was good.
We were seated at a table looking into the hallway (bar area) - employee work area.
It was like it was an "after thought table" The employees hung in this first dining area and it was not pleasant. Up to 8 at a time -employees gathering and having a very loud time. The front dining area had plenty of seats not occupied that were away from the employee hang out(they sat at a couple of tables & booths by the hostess desk) . It ruin my experience. Would not go back.
Great, unique atmosphere and wonderful service. Food was very good, but not great.
Reservation were confirmed early so able to add a person, friendly service, great food, enjoyable evening. Can’t wait to go back.
