The Troll Pub Under the Bridge

My wife and I had lunch with our nephew at The Troll Pub Under the Bridge. We looked online for a place to get a hot brown and found this pub. Once we were there, we decided to try something from many amazing options on their menu. Wife had the Reuben. Nephew had the waffle chicken sandwich. I had the club sandwich. All three meals were wonderful. Becky was a very helpful and attentive server. The atmosphere was great. There is some interesting history with the location of this pub. I would definitely recommend The Troll Pub Under the Bridge if you’re looking for good food and great drinks for a reasonable price with exceptional service.

This place is great. We loved the decor of the place.. really does kind of feel like a “troll” sort of spot. Old and in a basement, it’s such a cool spot. Food was awesome, drink selection great.

Our server was amazing. She was attentive and friendly and funny. She was laid back and everything she recommended was so tasty!!!

Sweet potato tots were amazing! We had great service -- he was very helpful with beer recommendations.

It was great, too bad most of the food wasn't available due to covid-19 and the storms. It's definitely a cool place to go at least once, I couldn't see going there every week though.

We started with the loaded fries appetizer which came out pretty quick and was hot. We then ordered 2 fish and chips meals and was told that they was out of fish. We left and went to O'sheas.

We tried out the Troll Pub for the first time on Valentine’s Day. We made a reservation and were sat immediately upon arrival. I tried the meatball sub which was excellent and my husband tried the Burger which was also good. The place was a really neat underground place that I had no idea existed. Social distancing was in place and all employees were wearing their masks. We will definitely try this place again! I can’t wait to get the real Vibe once covid passes us by!

It started off well, but our server took forever to bring drink refills, close to 15 minutes each time. The food was ok, not very warm. But I shouldn’t be surprised since we couldn’t get drinks very quickly, why would they deliver food as it comes up?

Poutine fries are amazing. Hot Brown is excellent.

We had a good experience at dinner - service was very slow, she never did bring the glass that I asked for with my cider, but she was also 1 of only 2 servers that we saw in the entire restaurant, and we could tell she was overwhelmed. Food was good - soft pretzels were your standard pretzel sticks, but the beer cheese was obviously made in house and was delicious! The chicken and waffle sandwich was unique and yummy. Lots of beer selections and a few hard cider options, which was nice. Casual, underground, unique vibe. Overall would recommend!

They really need to do something about the draft that comes in that front door... Maybe build a low wall across there so it doesn't blow directly in on the customers.

We enjoyed our first trip to the troll. Food was good. Hamburger was perfectly cooked. Service was a little slow. We weren’t in a hurry or anything so it wasn’t that big of a deal. But the waitress seemed pretty busy. All in all a super cool place.

New to Louisville and co-worker said this was a cool place to check out.

Our evening at this restaurant was filled with an amazing server, great food and a fun atmosphere. Interesting history about the building, take a minute to read about it on the menu. The waffles and chicken were delicious as well as the Italian sub sandwich. The old fosters old fashioned was also perfect. Next time we will try a flight of bourbon.

We went for lunch before a UL women’s game. Our server, Becky, did a fantastic job. She was so friendly, made good suggestions about the menu options and made sure our special requests were accurate. It was tough selecting from the wide variety on the menu. I got the combo 1/2 sandwich & salad. My husband got some HUGE, tasty onion rings and a side salad. I also treated myself to a hard root beer float, which was super delicious!!

They were not overly busy which was perfect. Promt, friendly service. Yummy food.

I went to this place twice over two days and it is quite simply exceptional. No review or picture can do it justice. Atmosphere is unique, and the food is amazing. And the bourbon selection? “Comprehensive” barely begins to cover it. Servers are knowledgeable and super friendly.

If you’re in Louisville and don’t go to this place, you’ve done yourself an unforgivable disservice. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Good food and service! Our sever noted a limited menu due to Covid however there were so many selections still it was non-issue for us due to they have much to offer.

I took my 15 year old niece here for her birthday, because it's a cool and different environment. I have been here multiple times before, but only for drinks. Our server was very friendly and the place was very quiet. Unfortunately over 50% of the menu was not available and each time we went to order something, it was out, including salads. It was stated to us it was due to Covid, so I asked if they were shut down for awhile and they had not been. I found that to be an odd response. I also later learned that they shut down the kitchen that night because business was so slow. I understand, being a business owner in the service industry. However, if you don't have things to fulfill your menu, train the staff to make customer's aware or put out a temporary menu to show what it is you do have available. Food quality was just okay...very greasy, but I expected that for the bar style food we ordered. Overall, it was just a very disappointing experience.

We were seated immediately, the service was good and local beers were delicious. I was disappointed in the food. I usually love a Good Black Bean burger and I wasn't impressed.

We chose Troll's because it was considered a sports bar and we wanted to watch several games. They honored our requests perfectly. The food and beer was delicious. They overcooked two of our burgers slighty but it was still tasty. We liked how they were very mindful of covid protocols. Would definitely eat there again.

First time to The Troll Pub Under the Bridge. Really enjoyed meeting my friends there for lunch. Food was wonderful and had enough for supper too! Employees were really nice and everything was great! Looking forward to lunch here again soon!

This pub is an excellent place to eat, drink, and be merry. They have an excellent menu selection, despite current supply issues, and a varied selection of drinks to enjoy. When so many establishments have been closed or limited, the Troll Pub under the bridge is thankfully surviving and hopefully thriving!

Fantastic bourbon selection, conveniently located within walking distance of Louisville's downtown distilleries. A great place to grab a bite to eat while traveling the Bourbon Trail. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, it's currently a limited menu. However, both the wife & I found items we liked. I would eat here again and recommend others do the same.

Excellent, quick service. Despite offering a limited menu at the time I dined, everything was delicious and clearly fresh!

Honestly used to be an ok restaurant my son and I went we were the only people at the restaurant and we still waited 35 minutes for 2 burgers that left off all the ingredients why I’m not sure and yes I even had to ask for refills because I guess since we were the only 2 souls eating it wasn’t important enough to give good service won’t ever be back though

I chose to go here for a first date with someone and I am pretty sure the moody, laid back atmosphere is like half the reason I am getting a second one so thanks for being superb Troll Pub! 10/10
