The Troll Pub Under the Bridge
Special occasion anniversary dinner before surprising by taking my wife to see Thomas Rhett in concert.
Intriguing downstairs entrance opens to a subterranean pub. Old brick walls very interesting. The menu was typical pub fare. The soup of the day was a pinto bean soup which actually was refried beans. No soup! The waiter was agreeable and we had the item deleted from the bill. Drinks were good. Service a bit slow even on a Tuesday. Would try it again but not my first choice.
Food service was awful. Food came out late and cold. It seemed as if it set under the heat lamp waiting as the tops of the buns were crunchy. Server never checked back after food was delivered until we were done. We asked to speak to a manager and was told that she was too busy to come to the table.
Best wings in LOUISVILLE ... taco salad is awesome too! We will be back for sure. Great service - drinks are totally reasonable and made right. Love it.
The food was bland and the server was nowhere to be found. And when she did return she brought me a refill of water (I was drinking Sprite...🙄)
We were there celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary. I mentioned that on the reservation. No one acknowledged it.
Now wishing we had splurged on ourselves and went to Jeff Ruby’s.
This was our first and last visit.
I have previously enjoyed the Troll Pub even though it had been a while. My friend had never been there before and really liked it. We were going to the theater and wanted to eat a little lighter so we split one of my favorites--the Fried Chicken and Waffles sandwich with a side of sweet potato tots. It did not disappoint! We topped it off with Sangria (red for my friend and white for me). The service was spot on! Thank you for a great experience!
Great food and service. A must visit if you are in Louisville.
Of course this place is a “pub” so one should expect “pub” food...However, this place has a much larger menu than most - and better quality food! We went for dinner just before seeing Dracula at actor’s theater ... I would highly recommend!
Great food and atmosphere. Perfect for a pre-game meal or to take in a game on one of the many screens.
Great poutine. Interesting atmosphere
Food was good overall. Our party of 6 received our order correctly although it had to be taken twice and appetizers took longer than expected. They offered them on the house without us saying anything. I didn’t care for the sweet potato tots but maybe just my preference. Would probably go back.
The serving sizes are very small. The Rueben was smaller than a female hand and only came with 3 onion rings total. The angry Alfredo was very dry. Over priced for what you got. Service was great and atmosphere was cool!
We had my 50th birthday party at the Troll Bridge in Louisville, on 2019 September-6 and we had a great time.
A wide variety of people were able to come by and stay for a couple hours and have a drink and some hors d’oeuvres and celebrate, because it is in the center of town and close to where people work downtown, and where people live across the bridge in Southern Indiana, and in the East end.
The party was organized the night before on impulse and we had 50 people come and go throughout the night.
I was able to make reservations online the morning of and the host and our waiter were very accommodating. We had a total blast. I recommend it!
My sandwich and fries were cold. Companions salad was hot. Kids pasta had less than a tablespoon of marinara. Forget refills on beer, server never returned and when she did it was to bring check which took 15 mins for her to pick up. Place was less than half full so food and service should have been better.
Family was in from out of town and they loved it! They never disappoint The food’s amazing, the service is top notch and the atmosphere is relaxing :)
We always leave happy, full and still have $ in our pockets.
Excellent service. The drinks and food were both fantastic! We will be back (again)
For $22 the sirloin was bland. Meatball sub was cold in the middle. Just overall pricey for average food.
We had a family birthday party and were put in our own room. Very nice.
The food was good but as a vegetarian I had a very limited selection. Great beer selection and the beer cheese was awesome!! The ambiance was really fun. Great place to have some fun and food!
The food was fantastic! The service was okay and the ambiance was weird for us. It just wasn't our kind of scene. Others seemed to enjoy it, but they were also a younger crowd.
We could NOT say enough about how much we enjoyed our meal here! Food was amazing and the service was even better! We had a large group and our waiter Brandon handled us fanatically! We WILL all be back!
Great appetizers and burgers
Very fun place for out-of-town folks for lunch. Short walk from the Galt House for lunch. Food and service are both great. Seemed like a fun "bar-type" atmosphere for casual dining.
Had a great meal around 6 on a wednesday. The blackened chicken Caesar salad was excellent. The Troll Bru is tasty!
We're not from the area and every single time we've be to Louisville for anything, we've attempted to eat here. For THREE years, we've attempted this and failed because they've been so busy. It was SO worth the wait. Everyone in the family was very pleased! Our waiter was very attentive and did an amazing job at helping us decide between multiple choices. We WILL be going back!
Service was slightly slow.
The Troll Pub Under the Bridge was a lot of fun. The food was good, though I would not recommend the beer cheese, it was very velveta-y.
Only complaint we had was it was quite warm in the restaurant. We were seated close to the door so we just figured it was because the door was opening and closing a lot.
Great place to dine and enjoy a cold beer. Staff was very helpful and teh food was great. Highly recommend the beer cheese sauce.
Amazing food, but an ultimate must have would have to be the sweet potato tots with Bourbon maple butter! I could have made a meal off those.
Pretty cool spot for the ambiance. Service was lacking at the bar but it was busy. Food was good. The beer selection is outstanding.
This place was amazing. Very eclectic and food was great!
This was a Very unique place. It was off the beaten path though and I would have never known it was there without doing an internet search for a restaurant serving a good ‘hot brown.’
Robby was probably the best waiter I have had in years. Arrived with a large group and the food arrived quickly, Robby made excellent suggestions, and all was delicious. Definitely a Louisville restaurant to visit more than once!
Very good service, fun atmosphere. My dad really liked the Hit Brown sandwich he ordered. Great cocktails!
Table service was slow, kitchen equally slow. Dinner took over 50min to get meal. We had a reservation for 2 and were placed in a small room with a huge group of over 20 people together, needless to say it was loud and we felt out of place. Disgusted when we got our bill and found pricing for our drinks higher than menu.
The food and drinks were great - the beer cheese is amazing. We requested the secret room, so it was very quiet and had a cool atmosphere. Our server was very friendly and took great care of us.
Food was good. Service was okay - inattentive if anything.
