The Tree Room @ Sundance
At The Tree Room, dining is an art form. Recipient of the prestigious 2017 Forbes Travel Guide Four Star Award, 2017 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, and the 2014 Best of State American Artisan Fine Dining award, Chef Eric Miller serves seasonal mountain cuisine. The atmosphere is romantic with candlelight and soft illumination accenting the Native American art from Robert Redford's private collection.
Closed Sunday and Monday
Robert Redford has captured the ambience of rustic, but fine. The food was served slowly and graciously allowing each course to be savored. The Pepper Steak was prepared perfectly.
Great food, service was great. I didn't care for the seating arrangement at our particular table. Kept getting bumped by servers passing by. I'm about 210 lbs so I'm not a humongous guy by any means.
We had a wonderful dinner celebrating our wedding anniversary. The food was incredible, the setting beautiful and ambience wonderful. The Tree Room is unique and different. I was so pleased with our choice to dine in the Tree Room at Sundance!
First tome in 30 years to have dinner at the Tree Room. Beautiful restaurant.
The staff and the ambience were amazing, best birthday dinner ever. Wonderful food too!
A phenomenal experience you don’t get at many restaurants. Seating is limited, which means a reservation is a must. That being said, the limited seating allows for an unparalleled experience of intimate service from the staff. Our waiter and his help were on point; never to present to bother our date and experience, but always friendly and eager to please. They were never too busy for us nor did they forget things such as water or fresh napkins.
The atmosphere is a lodge hidden in the shadows of the Wasatch Mountain range. Surrounded by forest and stream, it’s as much a joy wandering the grounds as it is to be inside tasting the food.
The ambrosial dishes are breathtaking. The portions are not large, but with the richness and diversity of the flavors, the small (not meager) portions are perfect.
I would highly recommend any of the starters. The combinations of ingredients and flavors can only be described as artistic. Beautifully arranged, the staff even takes the time to explain the best way to go about enjoying these works of art. That was just the starters.
The meal options and results are to be experienced. There are not enough words to describe them. And one must NOT leave without dessert. A toffee brittle basket filled with berries and plated with a cup of fresh cream for you to bathe it in! That among many other choices.
It is a place to go and take your time. To escape and share a meal experience with someone. The staff themselves will point out they are there to serve and there is absolutely no rush. They do not bring the next plate until you have enjoyed and finished your current plate.
The menu prices are fairly high ($32-$58 for entree) but the experience, atmosphere, and food more than equal the cost.
I will be returning many times over, with an intent to try their seasonal offerings as well.
This is a fine dining experience with rustic decor fitting of the mountain setting. The old spruce tree extending from the floor through the ceiling affords the Tree Room name. The setting is beautiful. The service is nearly perfect. We enjoy eating here once in a while even though it is a 45 minute drive. We noticed that most customers were couples enjoying the evening together. The food is expensive but worth it. The old film making pictures form Robert Redford in the hallways are interesting and make good conversation pieces. The walk to the restaurant from the parking lot is nice, but you have to just "follow your nose" as there are not many signs. The gift shop is close to the restaurant and some enjoy that...makes for a very nice quiet summer evening. We have been in the winter with the skiers and found it not too busy and still enjoyable. If you live in the area you should experience this restaurant at least once. Be prepared to spend $75-$185 per couple depending on if you get the desserts or the entr'ees.
Love the Tree Room and the whole Sundance experience. We do a play and try to stop by the Tree Room
at least a couple times of year.
Creative, well prepared and presented cuisine. Impeccable as always.
Great environment! We love this peaceful mountain retreat.
When making this reservation, I requested a booth which we did not get, instead the hostess placed us next to the guitar player. I guess I’m too nice or passive to ask about the booth and to be placed away from the music but I guess I was just taken by surprise. Usually, Sundance is very accomadating and it kind of ruined the night. The guitar playing was nice but to be seated right next to it, when I specifically asked for a booth? Weird. It was kind of loud and i don’t have a big voice, so i felt my conversation that night was stunted due to the music. We ordered the special, which was very good, very expensive and it took forever to get to us. Like way too long, the server was busy with a large table and didn’t communicate with us very well. It made us late to the concert which again, wasn’t pleasant. I expected more out of Sundance. I love this resort and grew up going here and it will always hold a special place in my heart but that date night wasn’t very special in my opinion :(
A wonderful meal with outstanding service. It was a memorable evening.
Wonderful experience. Our Sundance salad had a bit too much dressing on it, but everything else was great. Small, but filling portions.
The staff was very nice and informative about the menu. The food was amazing!!! Best steak I have ever had. Cooked to perfection.
Soft, live music was terrific. Food was fabulous. They did a fun birthday treat. Well done, all around.
The staff was so accommodating when our reservation was accidentally cancelled, they found a spot for us. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was quiet and elegant, and the service was outstanding.
Always love going back. The service is impeccable, staff is courteous and attentive. The food is great, but I have been a little disappointed as they try too hard to fit the health conscious and fancy by making serving sizes smaller and less fattening. I remember layered potatoes in some sort of beer/cream base, fried goat cheese balls in the salad and much larger desserts. Still a great place to go.
Service was amazing. Very attentive but not overly too much. Food was great
We have been to the Tree Room many times and it has been a favorite of ours. This time, we found that the service had slipped from the past. Still a good restaurant, but not as good as it was.
Wonderful evening at the Tree Room. Exceptional service and fantastic food. Definitely worth the drive.
A truly wonderful experience! The atmosphere and the staff were incredible. I have not felt so relaxed at a restaurant in a long time. We went on a Thursday evening so there were fewer people than normal, but the size of the restaurant is small that even during a busy time it wouldn't be too loud or crowded. We were treated with great respect and care by the staff. The food was delicious and had some unique elements to it. I would definitely want to visit again!
This is a truly special place! The service was impeccable and the food heavenly. It was a quiet, cozy and calm - just perfect for a date night. Highly recommend.
We celebrated our anniversary at the Tree Room. The food was fantastic - the pepper steak was delicious. The apps were all fantastic, and they have an incredible wine list. Can't wait to return!
Amazing food, amazing service. The waitress was very knowledgeable on the dishes and made great suggestions. Every dish was so good I couldn't stop smiling. Mmmm
The tree room needs to remodel their menu, and decor. Not the tree room I remember from years ago. Steak was raw and ice cold with the toughness of a baseball glove. Sole was salty and flavorless. Very overpriced food with little thought to preparation or food quality!!!!
Delicious meal with superb service. Great dining for a special occasion.
Best restaurant in Utah now that the Mariposa went down hill
The Tree Room is a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful setting. It’s romantic and has a great atmosphere for a date. However, the food is not good enough for the price tag. None of the dishes really wowed us and you expect to be wowed at a place like this.
Always special!!!!! Sundance makes everything an event.
Simply the best. Redford's vision of nature, balance, together with outstanding food.
Great experience, food was awesome, great service! Highly recommend!
Generally excellent food, very fresh and well-prepared but some misfires, like the clumpy angel hair pasta. Love the squab and the raspberry mousse!
Delicious Pepper Steak, and our waiter was outstanding. I like my steak medium well and it's hard to get right and this one was perfectly done. My husband's medium rare was perfect as well. The atmosphere was zen rustic and it was a beautiful dining experience.
Incredible food! Lots of wonderful favors where you lead expect it. Fantastic service.
We were on vacation in Park City and decided to make a date night of the Tree House for dinner and seeing Oklahoma at the Sundance theater. We weren’t disappointed! The food at the Tree House was exquisite and they even accomodated my gluten sensitivity by bringing out a very nice, warm gluten- free roll. I ordered the Pepper Steak and it was divine. We followed with the Berries and Custard. Yum!!! The show was top- notch, too!
Was quite impressed with the service here. The wait staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was well presented and quite tasty. The Tree Room is great for a romantic setting, a business get together over a meal, or even the more casual visitor looking for a great sit-down and be served experience. My only complaint is that it's difficult to locate this restaurant as their are no clear signs in the parking lot or around the resort pointing to the Tree Room. In fact, the only sign I saw was the one located on the inside of the restaurant after you open the outside doors. Tip: The Tree Room is located just to the right of the General Store...it's part of the same building and probably only about 20 steps away from the General Store. Park on the north side of the parking lot area.
Our reservation was for 6:45 pm. We got to sit out on the patio and enjoyed just about the most perfect weather. No wind, peaceful, even had a little squirrel on the rocks nearby for majority of the visit. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was very tasteful and presented very well. I would recommend the experience.
We visit the Tree Room for dinner whenever we are in Sundance. The food is always well-prepared and beautifully presented. Flashes of brilliant flavor combinations happen often enough that it is enjoyable to anticipate the next one. The staff are well-informed, uniformly attentive and a pleasure to interact with as they guide us through an enjoyable evening. Finally, the room is inviting and filled with remarkable artifacts that reflect the spirit of Sundance. This one's a gem.
We enjoyed the fine meal and service. The food and service were both excellent. it is a bit on the high side for price, especially give the size of the meals.
