The Tower Bar Ratings and Reviews
I took a friend to the Tower Bar for her birthday. The staff was incredibly attentive. The fried chicken was delicious and would gave any restaurant in the south a run for their money. The sundaes were amazing, we really enjoyed picking all of the toppings. Lovely ambience, great food.
The Tower Bar is one of my favorite restaurants. The ambience is great as is the service and the food. You can't beat Dimitri for matre'd - he always makes you feel special. The service is always professional - there when you need them and otherwise very inconspicuous. I have been going to The Tower bar for years and it never disappoints.
Thanksgiving dinner at the Tower Bar at the Sunset Tower Hotel. Always a treat, and this time was no exception. Wonderful service from the moment we arrived. Amazing view, delicious traditional Thanksgiving menu, and top notch staff made it a memorable evening.
Very unhappy as I was put in the annex restaurant as clearly too busy in the main room but without asking or telling me. Then they were so inefficient they didn’t check me in so opentable were told I wasn’t there. And because I was in the side Restaurant that was half empty the food was poor /cold and service slow. I wish I had gone to eat somewhere else. And I have been before. RR.
I was a guest at the Sunset Towers, and had dinner on the Terrace, poolside with an expansive view of Los Angeles. We ordered the scallops and chicken pot pie, both were delicious. The wine menu was extensive. Our server offered suggestions, and was well informed. At brunch the next day, we were seated at the same Terrace table we'd had the night before. The hostess said she knew we enjoyed that spot. That personal touch goes a long way with me. We'll be back.
I always look forward to the scene at Tower Bar and maitre d Dimitry’s theatrics, my link to old Hollywood..That said, the food is alway great all though the menu. It is very expensive (glass of house champagne: $34; steak or lamb $50++) but it was packed on Saturday despite a Dodger playoff game. Here’s why Tower Bar is the safest place to eat: Dennis Rodman hangs out there so theNorth Koreans are unlikely to target the place!!
This is on of our favorite resturants in the entire country. We always have a great experience there with terrific food and service. The Lobster Cobb Salad is terrific as is most all things on the menu. The seating and noise level allow you to have a personal conversation while enjoying the ambiance.
Interesting decor, like going back in time to the 1940ies - but in a good way. Interesting crowd frequents this place. Easy to get an interesting conversation with strangers going, not too noisy.
Food is very much overpriced ($31 for a small-ish burger and fries).
Made reservation here for my birthday dinner celebration. While having a drinks, we wanted to order some appetizers to munch on. The waitress who waited our table said that we need to order appetizer and entrees at the same time. WTF? Is she too fat or too lazy to make several trips to take our orders? Quality of food is decent, but portion is small for its price. Not even a cookie or small dessert offer from the Tower Bar, knowing full well in my reservation that it was my birthday dinner.
What a bunch of losers!
You MUST request the dining room. If not, you'll be seated on the Terrace, which is absolutely not the ambiance you're looking for. We were in the dining room the first time and loved it but most recently got out at the terrace and it was a waste of a night out. Ambiance there is tourists in what kind of feels like an airport lounge, while the dining room feels like old 1930s LA.
