Evening was lovely. My thanks to the staff, we had a great time.
Literally loved our server she was the fuckn best!
pure heaven on sunset boulevard.... why go anywhere else
My wife and I may have quite possibly had the rudest experience at The Tower Bar last night. We frequent many high end restaurants in LA such as The Ivy, Spago, Craig’s and The Polo Lounge to name a few. Last night we decided to go to The Tower Bar for dinner because we hadn’t been for many, many years. Everything started off great, we ordered a round of drinks and appetizers but the waitress kept rushing us. Finally she told us there was a 90 minute limit and if we didn’t finish we would be moved to the cocktail lounge. We told her we would be ok with that. Then all of a sudden a different waitress showed up at our table to take our entree order so we finally ordered because at that point it was pretty apparent this was a tourist trap and they were not able to recognize local clientele. After we ordered, she came back to the table again to tell us we didn’t meet the food and beverage minimum. I told her to go back and do the math. She returned very apologetic but by that point we could not wait to leave and never come back. Such a shame because the food and ambiance is wonderful but, unfortunately, the management has no class. After dinner we went to The Polo Lounge where we were welcomed with a smile and enjoyed an after dinner drink and dessert. We will never return to The Tower Bar.
Thanksgiving late lunch here was amazing. Great service, amazing food. Definitely exceeded my expectations and blew a traditional home cooked thanksgiving dinner out of the water. Price was on par for what you’d expect here but definitely a pricey experience. But I’d say fully worth it. 9.75/10
This place is spectacular and hits high on all notes. ❤️
Wonderful thanksgiving meal, great view. Excellent service from Angel and Pedro.
It was AMAZING. I came for one of my best friends’ birthday, so I wanted to treat her to something special. It wasn’t my first time there but it was super good and it always tastes the same or gets better each time. I always get the pancakes and potatoes, the scenery and service, staff, food, the whole experience was a 10/10. Thanks a bunch for a lovely time, every time!! :)
Extremely disappointed and sad that I dined here. I was looking forward to this experience so much and was treated terribly. I was completely disregarded from the moment I checked into my reservation. I felt like I was literally in the segregated Jim Crow south. I wasn’t welcomed there and it showed by all of the staff. Not one person was friendly or attentive. It sucks that I patronized The Tower Bar. I feel terrible I’m so tired of racism wasn’t expecting this treatment
Amazing experience, we were there for quite some time with a very important. client, food was great, service amazing, everyone there was extremely nice. Would go back in a second.
Great time. Great service. Valet was quick. Drinks were delicious as was the food.
All great. Only problem was that we were told when we had to give up our table before we even sat down.
$44 for a hamburger! $15 sides! I had fried chicken which was excellent as were the truffle mashed potatoes. My partner had a dozen excellent oysters. She said her cocktail was perfectly made. It's funny how many top restaurants have steeply raised prices as customers have come back. The current dining room seating layout is far less packed than the original pre-Covid one was and it's quieter and more pleasant.
Disappointing. As a regular for many years, new rules are shocking unfriendly. We were literally booted from our table based on a 1.5 hour time limit despite waiting for our food nearly 50 minutes after ordering; when we ordered we were not permitted to order appetizers first, and later perhaps an entree or dessert; we were required to everything we wanted all at the same time. If that weren't oppressive enough, apparently 4 drinks and 4 appetizers (for 2 people) wasn't expensive enough for the restaurant - we were required to purchase at least one additional entree. We were seated at a table on the mezzanine between the doors. It was so jammed close to one side that there was no room to pull out the chair, so we moved the table about 8 inches to do so. I was suddenly accosted by an employee who rudely moved the table back inhibiting my ability to stand up. Finally, valet admitted to scraping my car but still charged me the usurious $20 fee and refused to even pay for a detail to try to rub out the scratches. The whole experience showed a complete lack of class and responsibility that just doesn't feel good.
I dine at Tower Bar every time I visit Los Angeles. It is the best meal in town. A perfectly shaken martini, delicious fried chicken, and the best custom sundaes prepared from dozens of ingredients. Gaby and every member of the staff are professionals and always make you feel like a valued patron. So many restaurants have suffered during Covid, the Tower Bar has only gotten better!
Cousin in town
What a great experience! Never disappoints. Great attentive staff
Burger and fries were delicious!
The waitress was the worst service I’ve ever had. Especially when you order champagne and the 400$ caviar service, you figure out you’ll have at least an okay service. She was totally ignoring us and being very cold. We waited a long time for our meals. The food was fine but with a service like that I makes the food meh. We won’t come back unfortunately.
Also don’t waste you time and money on their caviar « service ». It’s literally caviar and smoked salmon dropped on a kitchen plate with bread. They don’t know how a caviar service is suppose to look like. It’s suppose to be a nice presentation on an elevated plateau with ice. We don’t really care because we do a lot of restaurants and we order caviar often but imagine people saving money to be able to invite their lover to have caviar and they receive that tiny boring plate. It really makes you reconsider the respect out of it.
Always one of the best dining experiences in Los Angeles.
I could have had hospital cafeteria food and it would have been better
Total disgrace of an excuse for “brunch”
No refills on water, no cleaning up table otherwise was real good.
Excellent food. Value for the cost was perfect.
Fine dining on the magnificent terrace of the historic Sunset Tower Hotel…The menu was varied with many excellent choices all served in an elegant, romantic, historic setting. As a bonus, our server had a wonderful personality and made the evening that much better.
perfect in every way, all the time. 🖤
They looked at my out of state license and I was by myself and told me they had no tables open outside like I had requested even though there were table open and seated me in the back of the restaurant alone at one of the worst tables assuming I was a tourist.
Best of the best.
It’s always good food, a lovely view and great coffee. They let you sit and enjoy your breakfast.
Restaurant was not prepared nor operating as a full service establishment. Messy, tables all over the place… it was equivalent to walking into a shut down establishment. Very poor and limited menu options.
I have always really enjoyed it there. I do miss their former Maitre D' a lot.
The service was horrible I kept having to get the waitress so we can order food and get salt, pepper etc . It was a very bad experience for how much they charge . I am a local resident and have frequently eat at the Tower bar and am
Very disappointed and don’t know if I would go back now . David Tannenbaum
Excellent service and the food was great Took my wife for a special outing and they took great care of our family
Slow service, glass of wine was delivered warm, Branzino fish was lukewarm and asparagus was tasteless.
The restaurant was notified in advance, that one of my guests was celebrating a birthday. We ordered dessert but then the birthday “surprise” arrived. It was a single raspberry on a plate with a candle stuck in it. It was embarrassing after spending the amount of money we did ($500). I don’t expect a free dessert but c’mon, let’s do something classy, people. Very disappointing evening was only made worse when we were asked to vacate our table after experiencing slow service. We understand they need to turn the table to make money but when we explained to the hostess we endured slow service, and asked for 5 minutes more to finish coffee and wine, the response was “2 minutes”. Ruined evening.
Max Fite was our server and he was so attentive, charming, hilarious and helpful! Definitely coming back!! Loved it!
The scene was hopping and fun. The staff were kind and attentive. The Food was average.
Waited 40 minutes. Service was not great. Food was ok. Expect better.
Venue and decor and ambiance great. Service was nice. Prices are absurd and we’re from NYC. $26 fried zucchini chips. $23 pita and hummus. $44 burger. Think that pretty much says it all. If you don’t care about spending a lot for the “LA scene”, go for it.
Amazing view, great food, superb service
