Cute place. There are some things I would have done differently with the food but over all not a bad restaurant week experience.
Went on Restaurant Week. Had the pork chop and it was too rare for me so sent it back. While waiting the server brought me a plate with the sides on it so I could be eating with my husband instead of just waiting. How thoughtful. Pork chop came back perfect -and with more sides! She offered a free drink b/c of inconvenience and I said no thanks. No big deal. But at end of dinner she brought extra free dessert just because. Food was very well seasoned with interesting but not bizarre flavorings. We will go back and it won’t have to be restaurant week ( Also we told her we had to be at Elliot Bay for a reading at 7 and server watched the time for us. )
These restaurant had one of the best values (and good food) during the Seattle Restaurant Week promotion. Right n door to the Grand Ballroom for dance lessons. Service a bit slow. Surprisingly quiet. Funky but interesting décor.
We enjoyed our dinner. The service people were quite attentive and caring.
I enjoy lingerie over our food and spacing the servings a bit between courses.
I think this would be a small area for the staff to consider.
It was one of those unfortunate nights where we felt invisible while our server Blake chatted up a few tables. We couldn't help notice him going back to the same table repeatedly while we sat with empty water glasses waiting for someone to greet us at our table. We had our appetizer and cocktail orders ready to go, we were celebrating after all. But after waiting fifteen minutes at 7:45 PM in a half empty restaurant we discussed leaving (but where to go??) or just cutting our losses and ordering an entree which is what we did. The food was very good! We saw Blake two times, once to take our order and the other to bring the check. I'm sure this could be a good place to eat but our experience was really unfortunate. Even though we live a five minute walk away we likely won't return or recommend to our friends.
Wonderful meal. Great service
It was a treat to come to Tin Table and watch the dancers in the Century Ballroom before and after our meal. Food was generally good but for a vegetarian, the large plate is more of a small plate (the chickpea patty on shakshuka), especially when compared to the large plates of my meat eating companions which were only 2 and 3 dollars more. The staff were very open to my feedback, which I appreciated.
We took our teenage boys here for dinner and it was a fun, festive experience. Our server was extra helpful in coming up with a non-alcoholic drink for kids, and was on top of their picky dining preferences, like hold the mushrooms. Service was friendly and timely. We enjoyed the restaurant spilling out onto two ballroom dance spaces within the quirky & historic building We got to take a peak at the dancing too between courses.
Tin Table unfortunately missed the mark for us. Service was good. The food was uninspired, and not particularly flavorful. I ordered steak frites, and the sauce was essentially all salt. They provided sauces with the fries, but it was just plain mayonnaise and ketchup. It would be a fine place if the prices were 20% lower, as thats what the food deserved.
Overall a supreme dining experience. Thank you for making our dinner a delight!
Good food and understanding staff. Holiday season makes for large/loud groups of people trying to yell over each other.
There was a large group when we first arrived and they were a little loud (not very). Waitress gave us two free appetizers and the group broke up after about 20 minutes. Food was wonderful. Waitress was beyond great. I'm going back.
The food and service are always good at Tin Table. Saturday night was not exception.
The short ribs were wonderful and the service was outstanding!QQ
The dishes for restaurant week sounded good but they all seemed to fall short in execution. The desserts were cold like kept in a freezer instead of prepared to order. Kind of a bummer. Great waitress and service though.
Went for restaurant week - food was really good. Noise was a little loud from the ballroom next door, but not too bad.
Above all our service was great ... there were some hiccups with the night but she was so lovely!!! Hooked on the fries ... I dream of them
Amazing service, AWESOME ambience, & GREAT food!!! We went here for a girls' night dinner, then took a Salsa lesson at Century Ballroom (all in same building) after our dinner! The waitress was outstanding & made sure that we got our food in a timely manner so that we would make it to our lesson! Would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun (& delicious) dinner & cocktails!!!
I made reservations for my husband and I for a date before going salsa dancing at the Century Ballroom. We hit traffic on the way there so I called to let them know we would be a bit late. The person I spoke with on the phone was very accommodating and said that would be fine. When we arrived, the hostess was friendly and seated us right away. Our server was fantastic! I’m 36 weeks pregnant and didn’t see a mocktail list but she said they could make anything that suited my preferences, which was awesome! I don’t know, maybe I don’t get out much, but that was the first time I’ve had a drink made like that and it was lovely! My custom drink was amazing and the cheese board was delicious! I loved my food (Dungeness Crab Risotto) but then I tried my husband’s pork chop and wished I’d ordered that! I highly recommend it, even if you’re not going dancing afterwards.
Nice ambience, good cocktails, great service and very ho-hum dishes. Two of us had the salmon with lentils and squash...very bland. Nothing savory or special about it. Someone had the salmon on a bed of greenswhich was also pretty flavorless. The hush puppy appetizer was delicious though. Perhaps you'll do alright here if you stick to fried, pub type dishes, I dont know.
Although the service was excellent, prices reasonable and the food very tasty, I have to comment regarding the menu's "crispy skin chicken thighs"...emphasis on "crispy" and "thighs". The skin was anything BUT crispy, and only one thigh found its way onto my plate.
Old fashioned building and new fashioned food. Creative menu with an interesting mix of ingredients. Generous portions, well prepared. The grilled chicken thighs were excellent. My companions had the steak frites and jambalaya which they all enjoyed.
I always enjoy my experiences here. Plus you can go dancing after dinner!
Food was average at best. Did not live up to the expectations based on other reviews... Will not be going back.
I attended tin table as part of a bachelorette party. We originally looked at the venue for dancing, and in our search discovered the tin table. It was a perfect dine and dance experience. Our waitress was simply outstanding and made our bride to be feel so special. The bartender and chef went out of their way to accommodate our special requests and went above and beyond. The food was good, but typical. What made the night was the atmosphere, the service, and the venue. Tin table helped make our party an amazing night and one I will absolutely visit again.
The boyfriend and I came here on a friend's suggestions for our one year anniversary and it was a lovely, intimate space for such an occasion.
Great, local, small plate dining with friendly hosts and a large array of quality champagne for your celebratory needs.
Definitely recommended for special occasions.
I've always wanted to try this place and I'm so glad we did. I took some friends from out of town to Tin Table for dinner. I will say, it was VERY hot inside, but it was an abnormally hot day in Seattle. The food was amazing. We all got something different and finished our plates. We also tried multiple cocktails to get a feel for what was available. I will definitely be going back soon (although, on a cooler day)!
the location is good and the ambiance is great. the food was average however. I would go back for drinks but probably would not go back for the food. the French fries were odd as well since they were very very thin strips of potato, not what I was hoping for. small portions for the salad and bruschetta.
Everything was simply perfect!! My daughter took me out to dinner for my birthday and asked what restaurant I wanted to go to and I chose the Tin Table. Having been there before, I wanted my daughter to see what a gem this place truly is. Our server was nicest of any server I ever had. And when I was looking for a particular cocktail that I thought I had had there but hadn't, the server said to give the ingredients of the drink and she would talk to their mixologist and see what he would come up with. The drink that I was handed was far superior to the drink I had had prior! The server even brought out my desert with a birthday candle!!
The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was unbelievably chill. This is by far my favorite place to eat in all of Seattle!!!
Thank you for a wonderful birthday
Tin Roof is a good place to know about. The food is hearty, the atmosphere is charming, and the service is lovely. Come here for a dinner that's a cut above casual and take advantage of the cocktails. The selection is huge, and the bartender also will mix you something to order. I had the sangria, which was sweetened to my taste ("hold the sugar"). While there are a few vegetarian choices on the menu, this is a restaurant for meat and fish eaters.
Early dinner before SIFF film at the Egyptian, and we ordered almost everything! Grilled asparagus, tempura cauliflower, green goddess salad, fig and goat cheese bruchetta, strawberry shortcake, choco decadence. All yummy. The show stopper was the soup of the day -
green chili stew. Chef Frank Wielgosiek transported this displaced Albuquerquean home. Thank you!
Always a wonderful experience, excellent cocktails and wonderful food.
The food is always consistently delicious, and the wait staff are personable and charismatic!
Nice menu with all scratch made food. Great variety and inventive preparations.
We had tickets to a music event and decided to turn it into "date night" with dinner out at a restaurant close to the venue. We hadn't been to Tin Table in a few years; it was an excellent choice, the most grown-up spot in the neighborhood. Cocktails, delicious dinner, and a glass of wine for a reasonable price in a cool old building. Bonus: it was a beautiful evening and the windows were open to the breeze.
The staff, from bartender, host, and server were all friendly and helpful. Thank you!
The atmosphere of this old building is perfect. The food menu and preparation & presentation is superb and well balanced. The cocktails are top notch. All in all a wonderful experience for dinner and cocktails.
The waitress was super friendly, helpful and a joy to be around! Thanks for such a delightful evening!
Dining at the Tin Table was delightful based on the fact that the food was good and the service even better. Pleasant historical atmosphere, but very poor acoustics. It was quite noisy and the music was a bit loud. However, making the reservation was a hassle. Upon calling all one gets is a voice mail saying your call will be returned by the next day. Making a reservation online was frustrating. I filled out the online form for 8pm and submitted it only to be notified the reservation did not take. I filled out the form the second time for 7:45pm (because 8pm was then not available) and submitted . That one did not take either, the reason being the email address I used had already been used to make another reservation-----the first one that was declined. Then, when I had reached my limit of frustration, an email came in saying the first reservation was confirmed.
My husband and I were celebrating our 43rd Birthday together before Nerd Prom. We wanted some place close to the Ballroom and it was. Love the atmosphere and food was spot on. Our waiter was wonderful taking care of our every need. Thank you Tin Table for making our dining experience romantic, eclectic and enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for fresh, fun and delish.
